The Hospital

{Lyanna’s POV} Max went on and on about how he told his father everything, then he began to yawn. Soon he dozed off in my bed snuggled against me. Felix walked over and began to reach for him. “I’m sorry, he’s normally not like this.” He said softly. I looked up and smiled. “Don’t worry about it, if it’s alright with you he can stay here. There’s an extra blanket at the foot of my bed for him.” He smiled softly and nodded, grabbing the blanket and covering Max up. I looked down at his peaceful sleeping face and my heart hurt a little. I always wanted children.. Who knew if that would ever happen. “So..” he began. “It’s okay Alpha, you can reject me even though I saved him. I understand, by now the blood results came back, you know what I am, and I can understand not wanting to be mated to me.” I said, not daring to look up. “Reject you? Why would you think I wanted to do that? Of course I know what you are, but that doesn’t mean I should reject you!” He said a little defensive. “It’s okay, really.. my first mate rejected me about a month ago. I understand, so you can just go on and get it over with.” I said. “Hey, look at me!” He said in a sharp tone. I looked up, meeting his grey, blue eyes. “I’m not going to reject you.! What I was going to say was that his mother left us a year ago. She was my first mate, I truly loved her. All she wanted was money, and power, she was a horrible woman, and an even worse mother. One day she just left, I was honestly relieved when she did. I broke off my mate bond with her, and soon I felt it snap. I was just going to say, maybe we can take it a little slower.” He said rubbing the back of his neck. I smiled softly and nodded. “That sounds great.” I said looking down at Max. Tears began to fill my eyes but I quickly wiped them away. “He’s great you know?” I asked looking up at him. “He was so sweet at school, and he’s smart. He’ll make a great Alpha one day.” I finished. “Yeah? You think so?” He asked smiling softly. “Of course, he’s bright, and kind, and caring. I’m sure he’ll be strong and a great leader.” I said brushing his hair from his face. “Do you want children?” He said looking down at me. My eyes shot up to meet his, I panicked and he could see that. “I..” I began when the doctor walked in. He bowed to Felix and turned to me. “We were able to stitch you up, and we transfused some blood to you. How are you feeling?” He asked looking me over. He noticed Max in the bed with me, and a small smile peeled onto his face. “I’m alright, just a little sore.” I said reaching down and placing my hand on the place I was stabbed. “We’re going to get you some pain meds, and we’ll make sure that we keep you comfortable until you’re all healed up. He said kindly, before turning to leave. He paused in the doorway. “By the way, there was an issue with your uterus when we were in there, did you have your tubes tied?” He asked. I shook my head and looked over to him. “No, I was told I couldn’t have children after an exploratory laparoscopy. They said there was something wrong with me, why?” I asked. “Well, it seems your tubes were tied, which is why you were told you couldn’t have children. I could assume that the person who did the laparoscopy was the one who did it. My heart began to race, and my breathing became frantic. “T-They fixed me?” I cried out. “They fixed me like a d*** dog then told me I’d never have children?” The beeping on the monitors began to increase and the doctor rushed over and pulled an oxygen mask off the wall. He placed it on my face. “Breathe..” he said softly. I looked down at Max who was still peacefully sleeping and nodded, breathing in and out softly. Until my breathing and heart rate were back to normal. “So.. can you fix it?” I asked looking at him. “I should be able to, we’ll get you in tomorrow, for tonight you need to rest.” He said smiling at me and placing the mask back on the wall. He exited the room and I turned my attention back to Felix. He looked like he was ready to kill. “Who did that to you?” He asked mortified. “The Luna of my old pack..” I said softly. “Why would a Luna do that to anyone?” He asked, his voice filled with disdain. “She said I shouldn’t have ever been born.. so I should never have children.” I said looking down at Max. “I’ve always wanted children, a huge family, a bunch of kids always running around. When they told me I couldn’t have kids..” I stopped looking down at Max’s peaceful face. “Oh well, it doesn’t matter now.. they can fix it, and one day maybe I’ll have a baby of my own.” I said looking up at Felix, his eyes filled with worry. “I’m so sorry Lyanna..” he said. Something about my name coming from his lips sounded so sweet. I hummed softly. “Can you say that again?” I asked. “I’m sorry?” He said confused. “No, not that! My name..” I said looking up at him. He smiled softly and leaned down brushing a strand of hair off my face. “Lyanna..” he said softly. My heart skipped a beat, never had my name sounded so sweet. I smiled up at him and said. “Thank you Felix, for everything.” He stiffened when I said his name but relaxed and smiled back. “Anything for you Lyanna.” He said causing my face to blush slightly. He was so sweet, helpful, protective, everything I heard a mate was. I’m glad I found him, even if I had to get stabbed to do so.
