Valerie's Point of View
Friday, I got to skip school. The Luna Ceremony was that night. Megan and Talia came over to get ready. My mom had scheduled extra Omegas to get us all ready. They were coming over at 10. Snacks and drinks were to arrive at my room at 9:30.
I was exiting the shower when the snacks arrived. I waived the Omega away as I changed into my underwear and robe.
The Omega that was to do our hair arrived at 9:45. I knew the others would be late, so I had her start on mine. It would be easy. I wanted it straight. Sleek down my back so a few pieces could hang over into the low-cut dress.
I didn’t plan on lavish jewelry, only drop earrings which would set off my hair. She was finalizing my hair when Megan and Talia came in.
“It is about time,” I said, waiving to them. “Snacks are over there.”
“Did you hear where we are sitting?” Megan asked.
“No,” I replied. “It isn’t my Luna ceremony.”
“We are at the fourth table,” Talia said with a shrug and threw herself onto one of my sitting chairs.
“I suppose it will be our higher ranks, Crimson Moon, but who beat you out for third?” I questioned.
“Dark Moon.” Megan said in disgust. “Their Alpha is weak, and didn’t they kidnap your Luna?”
“Maybe they are trying to have bygones be bygones?” I said. “It could be worse. You could be in the back with the Omegas.”
“Don’t even joke,” Talia said. “How are we to find respectable mates if we are in the back?”
“I heard your Omega is sitting at the head table with you.” Megan said, waiting for my response.
I saw the look in the Omega who was doing my hair. “She isn’t my Omega. She is the special guest of my brother and soon to be Luna. Reminder, you will treat her with respect.”
Megan and Talia huffed and turned so the Omegas could begin their hair. The Omega working now on my make-up smiled and nodded to me when she was done.
The conversation shifted to the boys that would be present. I only cared about one and that was Blaine. He was even supposed to do the run with our pack. He was soon to be Alpha. It would be good to see his wolf.
The Luna ceremony went on without a hitch. I was seated next to Millie. She was growing on me and let me talk about whatever I wanted. She was a good listener. I could see Blaine, which distracted me from what my brother was saying until Millie got up.
Fillian introduced Millie to the pack as their ward and invited her onstage. She pledged herself to the pack and agreed to go on the pack run. She shifted into a large wolf who was white with black spots on her ears.
I searched and watched Blaine shift. He was a solid grey wolf that took off and ran next to Millie for awhile. His blue eyes were shown by his grey fur.
I can’t believe she had a wolf so early. Even worse, her wolf was huge. Not like an Omega Wolf. She would probably give the warrior’s group at school a run for their money. She even got to run with Blaine. Though he seemed to disappear shortly after the run. Trying to bring the focus back to me, so I started to talk about Blaine. If she had seen him.
I had been talking to Millie for some time now and she wasn’t paying attention. She was looking around. It was like she was missing something or someone.
“Millie!” I said a bit louder.
“Sorry,” she responded. I shrugged.
“You looked great out there. I wish I could have gotten my wolf early. Did you notice Blaine the future Alpha of Crimson Moon is here, and he is even cuter than I remember? Granted, we were six the last time I saw him. He was with you for a bit during the run. He is going to be such a great Alpha.”
“So, you like him?” She asked.
“Duh! He is an Alpha and so gorgeous! I bet we will be mates.” I thought about me being the future Luna of the Crimson Moon and having a ceremony like this, but a bit more extravagant.
She asked something about him being my mate. “No, but he will be. It is my dream future,” I said.
We were talking about the people at the party, outfits, and what our futures may hold when Blaine started to walk over. I acted as if I didn’t notice him at first. He held his hand out, which made me turn.
“Would you like to dance?” he asked.
“Yes, I would.” I responded, taking his hand and smiling towards Millie. I asked Blaine if he knew anyone that would ask her. He linked to someone.
We were spinning around the room. This dance was a group dance that would switch partners and switch back. He was graceful and held his form strong but not stiff. The way he pressed my back as just a hint to guide me was sending shivers through my whole body. This may be my future. Blaine’s Beta had asked David and joined next to us. They were a cute match. Maybe they would be mates and I could bring Millie with me. She was a great assistant.
Wouldn’t that be the best life. I was going to be the Luna of Crimson Moon and Millie could be my assistant as the Beta’s mate.
Just as the switch in partners came, Vincent broke out into the loudest growl I think I had heard from him. Everyone stopped. Millie took off with Reagen to be by the Luna’s side and she was gone.
The rest of the night was divine. Apparently, someone had threatened Fillian, but I am sure it would be fine. Who would go up against Violet Moon? Especially with a Princess for a Luna. Fillian had made the decision that the party must go on and I was able to spend the night dancing away with Blaine until he retired to his room.
I had gotten his number before he retired. I thought about sending him a good night pic but thought it may be the wrong impression.
I was to be his Luna after all.
