Transfer -Blaine

Blaine's point of view. I didn’t expect to feel the mate bond before 18. I had heard of stories about strong bonds being felt even at birth. That is for alpha wolves. I knew the moment I entered Violet Moon that my mate had been there. I could smell a sweet lilac with a spice. Cinamon, maybe. My wolf could sense her too but could not pinpoint the person. It seemed like the scent lingered throughout the house. I hadn’t run into Valerie, yet my mom kept talking about how we were destined to be mates. Our match was talked about when we were children. Our pack ran into a bit of a falling out over some rogue attacks. Mainly the one that took almost half our warriors. I hadn’t been told too many details but according to my father, they had refused to come out for our aid during an attack and we had barely survived. We had to surrender to save our pack, but that was considered weak, and we lost some members. We were the largest pack at the time and have kept our loss in numbers a secret. We had created our own school and kept it to ourselves, until lately. The rogues began attacking again. I have not seen her since we were young. She was always so sure of herself, even when she was young. I am sure she would shine at the ball. We had come in late on Wednesday and missed the first dinner. I escaped to the kitchen in search of nourishment. I know my assigned Omega, or my soon to be Beta, David, would have gotten anything I desired but I needed to roam. It was a bad idea. Once I got to the kitchen, my mate’s scent was stronger than it had been all day. She must have recently been here. But why? Valerie would not have been in the kitchen. “Sir, may I help you?” a nice elderly Omega questioned. “I missed dinner and am famished,” I smiled back. “I was in search of food.” “Yes,” she said, waiving towards the fridge and pantry. “Help yourself. You should really have rung down and we would have brought you something.” “Had I done that, I would not have met you,” I said. She waved me away. “May I ask who has been keeping you company tonight?” I asked. “Oh, just the other Omegas.” She replied as I grabbed some food and headed back to my room as the scent faded away. The next few days went by quickly with introductions or reintroductions to the Violet moon Alpha and his Luna. It was the Luna ceremony tonight. Everything was going as normal until the run. During the run, my wolf ran next to the most amazing wolf. She was white with black spotted ears. She was as large as me, but I could not recall any other Alpha children who were old enough to join the run. She smelt of sweet lilac with cinnamon. Was this my mate? “Blaine,” my father linked me. “Come here, we need to discuss the rest of the night.” I took off in his direction hoping I could find out who this wolf was. My father’s plans were clear as he relayed them to me. Woo Valerie in hopes she was my mate. To him the mate didn’t matter, we needed Violet Moon. They had strong warriors, and the alliance would be sealed with Valerie and I joining together. I had hoped for her to be my mate. This wolf was a distraction, that was all. I was thrown off because it was not as I had been told. Not even my wolf knew if this scent was my mate's. Or why I was so drawn to it? I assumed I would just know my mate. Valerie could still be my mate. When I had redressed, I went over to ask her to dance. I held my hand out. As she tried to ignore my by talking to the new pack member. “Would you like to dance?” I asked. “Yes, I would.” she responded, taking my hand and smiling towards the girl. I felt sorry for the girl sitting there so I linked David to ask her to dance. As Valerie stepped by my side, I could smell the lilacs and cinnamon but also fresh rain. My wolf was going mad, not knowing why the scent was so strong even the rain scent. I could smell stronger than others. We were spinning around the room. This dance was a group dance that would switch partners and switch back. I was guiding Valerie through the room. She was stunning when her orange dress flowed around us. She would make an excellent Luna. She was trained to be one from birth. Just like I had been destined to be Alpha. David joined next to us, as requested. He had asked Valerie’s friend to dance. It was time to switch partners. As I spun Valerie to my Beta David, he spun me his partner. The new pack member, Millie. Her fingers touched mine, sending a shock through my arm, but it soon ended. She pulled away and was by the new Luna’s side as Vincent the Alpha of Violet Moon broke out into the loudest growl, I think I had heard. Everyone stopped. Apparently, someone had threatened the New Luna. My father looked stern at me as a warning. We needed this alliance. The rogue attack had wiped out half of our good warriors, though no one knew that. I continued to dance with Valerie throughout the night. I could tell she was smitten by me. Which was the goal. To seal our alliance with us being mates. For some reason, it felt wrong. I took a break from dancing when my father called me. “Son, it looks like all is well.” He nodded toward Valerie. I nodded back. “Good you and David will transfer schools on Monday.” He smiled. “What! That was not part of the agreement, I wanted to finish my senior year,” I said. “Yes. I know, but I feel something else has been on your mind since we got here. We cannot lose this.” The image of the white wolf with black spotted ears popped into my head. Who was she? Maybe she was a senior at the new school, and I could find out. “I will transfer.” I said as my father clapped me on the back and ushered me back to Valerie. We exchanged numbers. I would tell her after we left about the transfer.
