Sylvia climbed down the stairs one by one and was surprised to find everywhere dark. Only the light from the moon reflected inside and made her able to see a bit. She definitely heard a woman scream but now it was all silent. Though, she wanted to check on the ladies first and make sure they were fine. Too bad she couldn't locate which room they were given. She looked around her suddenly,
Clang!
Something fell and her eyes quickly moved to where it sounded from. It was the kitchen!
She moved slowly knowing that whoever was there was already aware of her presence. After all, one can never hide from a werewolf. The sound of her heartbeat alone definitely would give her away.
"Who's there?" She called but was once again met with the silence. She entered the kitchen slowly, her eyes scanned around and she didn't know if it was her imagination but she felt a presence close to her. When she looked anyway, there was nothing.
Her fingers curled and her lips parted in readiness to protect herself if there was a need for it. Now she was really worried if the people she brought were okay. Did he already find out that they were witches? Did he already kill them? Or did he have them in his torture chamber? Different thoughts passed through her mind but she quickly dismissed them. If she wasn't sure about the others then she was sure that Gerald couldn't be taken down so quietly.
"Who-" Just as she opened her mouth it was suddenly closed. Rough, big palms obvioulsy belonging to a male pressed against her mouth tightly preventing another sound from leaving her. She struggled against him but it seemed futile and it only made him press her back against his body more.
Anger flashed in her eyes and her fingers curled then her lips parted to recite a spell only for her to feel him lower his head to rest it on her neck then his hot breath that strangely made her shiver fell on her ear.
"Do you want to live?" He whispered and she froze when she heard his voice. It sounded evil. But what kind of question was that?
Of course she wanted to live and she was going to live!
Gathering her strength, she tried to connect her elbows to his ribs but as if he predicted that action, he blocked it with his arms and then they went around her waist holding them tightly.
"I would've really liked to see you try harder but i've got work to do. And you better stay quiet when i ask you to" He released her after saying this only to push her to the ground. Sylvia landed softly on the cold floor. Before she could react, he pushed her under the table before joining her there.
What was he doing?
As it was dark, Sylvia couldn't see his face but could see that his upper body was naked. They were perfectly toned and hard. His muscles were big and Sylvia didn't know why she was looking at them right now. She was supposed to be getting away from him but what was this situation? Why were they hiding?
She opened her mouth but almost immediately, she felt his fingers against her lips.
"Shhh..." He shushed her up. His brows furrowed as he seemed to be listening to something.
Sylvia only understood when she started to hear the sound of footsteps. It kept coming nearer and she held her breath. A pair of boot finally came into view, standing in front of the table.
The man next to her had a calm gaze. She didn't know how a knife appeared in his hands but he was currently playing with it. A smirk hung on his lips then without warning, he plunged that knife deep into one of the boots. A scream was followed by this action of his. The man in boot screamed in pain as he shifted away, cursing furiously. A growl resounded, it was ferocious. Sylvia froze, this type of growl didn't just belong to a werewolf but a lycan!
"Stay here" The man told her before going out of the table.
She could hear the sound of growls next, from two different people then something broke and the sound of bones being crushed could be heard. Everything happened too fast that before she could get curious and have a peep, someone was already laying flat dead on the floor.
She stuck out her head to meet this scene when suddenly, the light turned on. It was so bright that she had to close her eyes for a moment. When she opened them again, she could see everything clearly in.
A man was laying unmoving on the floor with both his eyes and mouth open. It was obvious he hand't died peacefully. There was blood on the floor too and she could see someone standing over the body. Her eyes slowly trailed upwards. The man curently had his back to her but it was such a sight.
Broad shoulders and back that looked strong and hard, well defined muscles that... oh dear, it looked so pleasing to the eyes. Her eyes trailed downwards towards his butt that were so round and ahh!
Sylvia snapped out of it. She was so shocked at how dirty her thoughts had just been. It was scary. What was wrong with her? There was a corpse right here and she was looking at a man's body instead.
"Are you done looking?" A deep male voice made her blink in confusion as it sounded so familiar. Feeling startled, she had forgotten that she was under the table and tried to stand up only to hit her head hard against it. Tears formed in her eyes when she felt the pain but she held it in as she crawled out of the table before standing up.
"You-" She had just started when the man turned around. Her eyes met his, a pair of Hazel eyes that stared back at her. Sylvia froze at first, then her eyes widened in shock. She didn't know why but she felt her hands tremble too.
"Jace?" She called but the man just looked at her. There was no familiarity in his eyes. There was also a hint of coldness there that made her frown. It was him! She could swear that it was him. She could never mistake those eyes or the way he looked.
But why was he looking at her like he didn't know her at all. Sylvia was overwhelmed by a flood of emotions. She didn't know what to do and just stood there. Her legs wouldn't move either.
"Damian? Did you get him?" A voice sounded and another person entered the kitchen to meet the two of them having a staring competition. His grey eyes took in the scene.
Damian was the first to break his gaze, moving them towards the now dead man on the floor. "So messy" He clicked his tongue then turned towards the man"Kellen, i think you should take her back to her room"
"Ohh" Kellen was also surprised to see her there. A frown entered his face. He had made sure to put an incense in every room. One that would make them unable to wake up until the very next morning. This incense would only take effect once one started to sleep but because Sylvia was too preoccupied to sleep, it didn't work. Now she had seen something she was not supposed to. No wonder she seemed to be in a daze.
Kellen's eyes flashed as he stepped forward but stopped when he saw her walk towards his brother. Not once did her gaze leave him.
"Is there something on my face?" Damian asked her.
"Why did you kill him?" She wanted to ask him why he was here? How was he not dead but instead she found herself asking him this.
"Go to your room and don't ask any questions. It's better you forget everything that just happened here" He told her coldly before turning away.
"I undertsand that he is a thief and you caught him but this kind of people are suppose to be handed to the authorities" Saying this, Sylvia saw thier weird expressions.
Thief? Did she just called this person a thief? Perhaps that was what it looked like to her. He didn't bother clarifying it either. That the person he just killed was no thief but a freaking assassin.
"Didn't you hear what i told you just now?"
"To not ask questions? Well, i didn't ask any question" She shrugged.
"Did you forget the latter part as well?"
That she should forget everything she saw. Sylvia blinked then bowed a little as she walked out of the kitchen. Not without giving him one last glance though. Kellen followed her.
Sylvia knew she needed time to process this whole thing. She couldn't be rash now.
She got in front of the room and stopped. Kellen stopped too as she turned over to look at him.
