Her Name

"You look like you are going to kill me for seeing something i shouldn't have" She could see the look in his eyes. They held nothing good. Unlike the kind expression he usually had on, now there was something merciless in those grey eyes. Kellen's expression did not change one bit at her words "Then i wouldn't be escorting you to your room, don't you think?" "That is because you need permission to kill me. And i guess you will be going to seek for that once you leave here" His expression finally changed. His lips curved into a smirk as he tilted his head then scratched his neck "How smart. You seem to know everything. Makes me doubt your reason for being here. You don't belong in this town" "Isn't that very obvious? I came to this town in search of something" Sylvia sighed as she looked at his gaze that was full of suspicions "And... I don't think it exists but i will still try. I promise not to say anything about what i saw today so spare me.... And my friends. We will be gone before you know it" There was a hint of confusion in Kellen's eyes. Just now, she had looked as if she was ready to go up against him but her tone suddenly changed. Her voice sounded softer and pleading. He could not ignore it. What was she doing? "You didn't say your name" He told her. "Sylvia" She answered knowing very well he wanted to do a background check on her. Too bad she had been very careful and meticulous when it cames to handling these wolves. He will find nothing. "Your full name" He insisted. He was also careful. "Sylvia Hawkins" Silence followed for a long while between them before Kellen spoke "Make sure you are gone by morning tomorrow. As early as possible and we won't have problems" With this he left. Sylvia closed the door to her room and went to sit on the bed. Everything that happened just now replayed in her head. Kellen had called that man 'Damian' but he was clearly someone else. He was Jace, the werewolf with iron claws who terrorizes witches. The witches worst nightmare. The person she had came here to kill. There was no copy cat. It was him! But he didn't recognize her. For the past five years, she thought he was dead but now... She realized she might be wrong. That night, all she found were his nails and clothes he'd been wearing giving the assumption that he had disintegrated so there was no body. She wondered if all of this was a confusion and Jace was really dead and this person was just a look-alike but there were too many coincidence for her to believe that. For example this very house. It belonged to Jace and now, that man lived here. It couldn't be a coincidence. There were three possibilities she could think about. First, someone took him that night then erased his memories. Second, he faked his death, his memories are intact and he was only pretending. Third, this guy was his look alike and all this is a damn coincidence. She needed to find out which one of the three it is. ...... As Kellen headed down, he met Damian in the living room lighting up a cigeratte. He sat in the opposite chair and glanced at him. "This turned into a mess because of you. The old man warned us not to take in any strangers. If you hadn't brought her, we wouldn't need to kill her now" He looked like he was angry. Damian puffed out smoke from his mouth before he looked at Kellen "Are you hesitating? What did she say to you then?" "That's not the point. The point is why you have to bring her here at this very time when things are starting to turn chaotic" "Well..." Damian shrugged "I hit her and i couldn't leave her there to just die" "Ha" Kellen couldn't stop the chuckle from leaving his lips "Since when did you care about people's lives Damian? Can you even afford it? Cause i know none of us can" "I can when i want to" Said Damien as he threw the cigeratte away and stood up "And don't think you can blame this on me. You should've made sure everyone slept" His voice was cold and there was a hint of anger in it but it still surprisingly sounded calm. He left. Kellen cursed as he threw a pillow at him but it didn't reach him. He ran his fingers through his hair as he sighed. If words went out that someone was killed in this mansion then everything will get complicated. The authorities will come looking and even though there was no proof or evidence, an investigation would be unavoidable. This means that they will be giving away their location to that person. The only way to avoid this was to kill her but... Why was he hesitating? ... As Damian got inside the room, when the door closed, he leaned on it with his eyes closed. The scene of her body being pressed against his appeared in his mind and he sighed trying to get it out but failed. The way he felt when her eyes raked all over him and the way his wolf had gotten excited. He knew what all of it meant. And he also knew what she was. A witch! *** The next morning. Sylvia hadn't gotten a wink of sleep. Kellen didn't give her his words which meant there was a possibility of him sneaking into her room and killing her at night. She opened her eyes when a knock came on the door then stood up to open it. She was met with a handsome face that made her smile "Kai" "Good morning" Kai smiled widely, showing his white teeth. He had a tray in his hands and Sylvia could guess it was food. She opened the door wider for him and he came in, pulling out a table and placing the tray there. He lifted the cover to reveal different colourful dishes. "Wow" She was surprised that he had to go through all this trouble for her. Sylvia took her seat and started to eat. Even though she was suppose to be cautious, she didn't know why but she felt like she trusted Kai. Someone she had only recently met. Wasn't it strange? Considering it was hard for someone to really have her trust. "How is it?" Kai looked excited to have her review. "Mmmm... I think it tastes just great. You could open a restaurant with this skills you know" Sylvia didn't even realize that she was smiling so much. "I didn't think of that" Seeing how lively he was, Sylvia stopped for a moment as she realized something "But... Why are you nice to me?" "Just because..." He paused as if he was thinking of something sad then he continued "I saw you" It was this again. She wondered where he had seen her. Another knock came on the door and Gerald stepped in. He frowned when he saw that Sylvia was eating something he hadn't supervised. Pointing that out would only raise suspicions. He just gave her a look she understood. "We are ready to leave" Announced Gerald and she immediately saw the frown that entered Kai's face. "You're leaving today? The doctor said you should rest for a few more days" "She's not as weak as you think" Gerald rolled his eyes as he came over to Sylvia's side. Seeing Kai's sad look, she resisted the urge to ruffle his hair. He had so many similarities with her late little brother that she just wanted to give him a hug. Thinking about what happened last night, of course she couldn't leave just yet. More ever, her target was right here. "Gerald?" She called turning towards him "Can you leave us for a minute?" Gerald's eyes narrowed a bit as he wondered what she needed to talk about with this guy that he had to go out. He didn't complain either as he stepped out and waited by the door. "Kai" She called and he looked at her with expectant gaze. Even his eyes were so cute "Can you take me to your brother?" Kai's eyes widen as he hadn't expected it "Is it because he didn't come to apologize for hitting you?" "No" She shook her head "I just have something to discuss with him" "Among your brothers, who do you think has the most authority?" "My big brother" Kai replied quickly. "Is it Kellen?" "No" He shook his head "His name is Damian. He decides what happens. By the way, why are you asking this? Do you want to strike a deal with him?" "I don't think i have anything that he wants" As she had predicted, Damian was the one in control. Which meant it was his permission she needed to seek. "You can take me to him right?" "Uhh..." Kai hesitated when he remembered how his brother had seemed really angry and annoyed with everything this morning. He felt it woudn't go well. "Fine" He answered. Like this, Kai brought her to the other side of the house. In a small field where she met Jace-no, Damian hitting a punching back with his bare hands. His brows furrowed when he noticed her then he threw a glare towards Kai who quickly hid behind her as if he had just seen something scary. "Good morning" She greeted first. "There's nothing good about the morning" His voice was cold as he turned back and continued hitting the punching bag. He was angry before but he seemed to have gotten more angrier when he saw her. He hit the bag harder until his knuckles were all red. After Kai left, Sylvia just found a place to lean on. She didn't say anything and just watched him let out his frustrations until he was done. He finally looked at her. "I'm sure you are not here to just watch me" "Watching you doesn't seem that bad" Sylvia shrugged remaining in her position. Her eyes moved all over his sweaty body without reserve. Though he was wearing clothes now. Using a towel to clean his face, Damian walked towards her. He had just opened his mouth to say something when Sylvia came closer to him. Her gaze held his and she seemed to be searching for something in them. His body froze. She took the towel from his hands, not breaking away as she raised her hands and used it to clean his neck then tip toed so that her hands could reach the back of his neck which only brought her closer. Her familiar scent entered his nostrils making his hands clench tightly by his sides before he loosened them and pushed her away roughly. "What do you think you're doing?" "You're not him" Sylvia said. A look of sadness entered her eyes "You're not Jace. I'm sorry. I caught carried away for a moment because you looked just like him" She lowered her head and Damian could not help but swallow back all of the harsh words that had arrived at the tip of his tongue. Was she really sad? He felt like she looked pitiful right now. "I don't care if you confuse me for someone else. Just make sure you leave quickly and never come back" Said Damien. He turned around and was going to leave when Sylvia grabbed onto his shirt. Damian let out a breath. Damn woman! What was she trying to do?
