Chapter 55

502 Words
Devon's POV I realised that someone should tell her the truth about reality. If she wants to hate me forever, then she can do that. But she needs to understand a few things. And one of them, is being irrational. I know that Paxton is not to be trusted. But with the versions I've been hearing from Paxton's father and Paxton, I know that at least one of them had to be true. And reaching Paxton was easier than reaching Paxton's father. Moreover he fell right into the trap when he released me from the prison. I cup Samika's face as I mutter another apology to her. I would apologise to her every day if she wants. I would apologise to her everyday even if she doesn't want as well. Because what I did hurt her beyond my imagination. And I don't want to do anything like that again. I kissed her softly and it took her a million seconds to kiss me back. Nonetheless I am just happy that she is kissing me back now. Wolf is screaming in my mind that Samika is feeling guilty that she killed my father intentionally. Apparently her wolf told my wolf about it. And maybe we can talk it out some other day. I pull her closer to me and she doesn't object to that as well. And when her hands find their way to my hair, that's when I groan in happiness and kiss her harder and deeper. She didn't wait a second before jumping into my arms and just when I was about to kiss her deeper, there was a knock on the door. A scent we totally missed in the heated moment. Cass with two heartbeats and a pregnant belly walking towards Samika and I with a look as if she knows everything and a smirk that I don't like right now. "There is someone here to see you and they claim they know you," she tells Samika. . . . . . Unknown POV I watch him drink the same coffee in the same cafe. But he looks different today. He ran his fingers through his hair more than necessary and his hair is a mess right now. He is not scrolling through his iPad like he used to. He is not doing anything. He is just thinking. He is often zoning out. And he is sighing more than he should. It's been years since I have been sitting here and watching him every day. But he disappeared for a few weeks a couple of months ago. I don't know where he went. But I hope it was worth it. He never noticed me. But I spoke too soon. Because right after I thought about it, his eyes shot up to me and he is now watching me.
