Chapter 21

Samika's POV

"Yes. Escort them inside to the pack house. Beta Devon and I will see them there," I mindlink to the patrol head and make my way to the pack house. I thought of meeting Sabrina but I guess now is not the time.

I don't know where Devon is, though. He might also be on his way to the pack house. He is doing everything he can to try and get the truth out of me. But I am not going to tell him at any cost.

How do I even tell him when even I don't know if it will happen or not. I can't be like.. hey, so yeah I tried something good for my pack and now I have to call you. Crazy right? So get on with this.

That sounds absolutely rubbish. First, I need to find a way on what to do. And if I need Devon's help for that, then that's when I'll be telling him about it. I am not going to just tell him everything and watch him do things that'll make me question why I shared the information in the first place.

I sat on the couch and the first to arrive was Devon. He smiles at me and places a kiss on my cheek. Usually he would have gone straight for the lips but I kind of left him without an answer earlier so we both are carrying the mood for now.

Just two minutes later, one of the guards let Alpha Judah and Melissa in. Once the guard saw Devon and me inside, he just bowed and left. If none of us were here he would have stayed till we came just to make sure the guests wouldn't do something like searching for clues to take us down or whatever.

"Hello. Nice to see you again," Alpha Judah says and I nod at him, with a smile.

"So now I have to find your long lost relative or something?" I ask Alpha Judah and momentarily Devon looks at me wide eyed, but when he noticed I was joking he stood straight with his usual straight face again.

"No. Actually I am here to thank you for bringing my daughter back. It took me months to get her back to normal but here she is," Alpha Judah says and my eyes land on Melissa.

Oh I cannot and will not forget everything that she did. She became an ally with Paxton just to get back at me and then take Devon all for herself.

Ava growls at my thoughts and I shove her deep inside. If she gets on the surface now, Melissa wouldn't even stand a chance. Ava might even end up killing Melissa.

"I am sorry for every trouble that she caused," Alpha Judah says again and I merely nod. Mainly because I don't know what else to say. I have bigger problems to eliminate than deal with the psychotic ex of my mate.

"But please make sure she wouldn't do something like that again," I say and he nods.

"How about dinner for today? We can go out if possible and so many things. This is my apology meal. I have heard Alpha Judith is here too. We can take her if you want," Alpha Judah says and I don't think if I am ready to face Judith now or not. She is acting way too weird ever since she found out Nyle is her mate.

"Alpha, Beta! Mr. Brent and Miss. Olive is here and they said they forgot their work laptop," the patrol guard mindlinks both Devon and I.

"Yes. Yes. Send them in," I mindlink them before Devon could say anything.

Instead of going on a dinner with Judith, I would prefer going along with Brent and Olive. At least that would be a company I am willing to tolerate.

Devon then asks if Alpha Judah wants to see the pack. Alpha Judah told him that he already did and all he wants is to sit and talk to me. Devon then asks if Alpha Judah wants to participate in a friendly combat with him.

"Devon, stop. You are only embarrassing me," I whisper as I pull towards me, by my side because he is running to take Judah away from here. He is acting weird especially when Brent and Olive are back because they forgot something.

I catch the scents and I know they are coming into the pack house. I tell Judah that my brother and his girlfriend are here and he said he is excited to meet them too.

Devon's face drains of all colors and he is not uttering a single word now. I don't know why he is making a fuss. He's been doing this ever since Brent is here and he is just doing it again.

Maybe I should talk to him about it. He should tell me if there is something. Maybe we both can deal with it together instead of one person taking everything on their shoulders.

"Isn't that what Devon told you too? Oh wow what an irony," Ava says and I shove her deep inside again.

When Brent and Olive finally walked in and smiled at me, Alpha Judah and Melissa turned around to see them too. Melissa might know him from the scheming she did with Paxton not too long ago. She might know Olive too. Olive was with us at the restaurant where they asked a witch to delay our timing to find Melissa.

"Brent and Olive, meet Alpha Judah. One of the allies to our pack. Devon's dad and he were best friends," I introduce Alpha Judah first to them.

Even Alpha Judah seems a little shocked. But Olive and Brent both of them try to shake their hands with him. He was only interested in taking Brent's hand in his.

Honestly he is mirroring Devon's expression telling me that they know something now. Something I don't know. Alpha Judah turns around and looks at Devon who only nods at Alpha Judah.

"So you knew?" Alpha Judah asks Devon.

Everyone in the room except Judah and Devon are clueless.

"I can explain -" Devon was cut off by Alpha Judah's growl and Ava is fighting with me to come to the surface but I know she will just break the neck of Alpha Judah with just her teeth for growling at Devon.

"You knew and didn't tell me? You f*****g knew my son was alive??"
