Nidia leaves and I put on some cartoons for Kaleb. I then changed my clothes, and then I put some clothes in the washer. I picked up the toys around, then checked Kaleb’s bag. When I was done, I put the clothes in the washer in the dryer. I go to the bathroom and get the tub ready for Kaleb.

“Kaleb, honey, it’s time for your bath” I said.

“I’m coming mommy” he said. I could hear his little feet as he made his way to the bathroom. He undresses and I help him get into the tub. I wash his body, and then I wash his hair.

“Put your head back a little honey”, I tell him, and he does as I ask. I rinse his hair, then I let him play with his toys in the tub for a few minutes. I then got him out, dried him, and changed him into his pajamas.

“What do you want to eat for dinner honey?” I asked.

“I’m still full from lunch mommy” he said.

“I know me too. How about a small snack?” I asked.

“Okay” he smiles. We go to the kitchen and I take out some strawberries, bananas, and mango. I cut them up and put the fruit on a plate before going to the living room where Kaleb is. I sit next to him and we eat our snack. When we’re done, he goes to brush his teeth, and then I put him to bed.

“I love you, mami” he said.

“I love you too, mi corazon” (my heart). I smiled and kissed his forehead. I then walked out of his room, leaving the door ajar. I go to my room to get my pajamas, then go to the bathroom to take a shower. I turn on the shower and undress. I jump in the shower. I wash my hair, body, shave, and wash my body again. I turn off the shower and grab the towel. I towel dry myself, then put on my underwear, followed by my pajama. I put the dirty clothes where they go and head to the living room to make sure everything is locked. It’s the same routine I do every night. I then headed to my room and lay on my bed. For some reason, that handsome man from earlier at the law firm pops in my head. The way he raked his eyes over my body. How his eyes slightly widened when he looked into my eyes.

“Nope. Nope, that is not going to happen” I said to myself. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes and soon welcomed sleep.

I walked into my office with Ariana right behind me. I put my bag down and go to my desk.

“Miss Morales, here is your first case. Would you like some coffee?” Ariana asked.

“No, it’s okay. I’ll get some later”, I told her.

“Okay, if you need anything don’t hesitate to call me” Ariana said before walking out of the office. I opened the folder and looked at the case.

“This case involves a hit and run that occurred September thirteen at approximately eight at night on Maple Street. The defendant, Chris White, is charged with failure to stop after an incident involving injury. That’s a violation of section 321.261. At approximately 7:55 pm, Jane Pierce was walking her dog along Maple Street when she was struck by a blue sedan. Witnesses reported seeing the sedan swerve before colliding with Miss Smith before fleeing the scene. Miss Pierce was severely injured and sustained a broken leg and multiple abrasions.

Emergency services were called, and Miss Pierce was transported to the General Hospital for treatment. A witness, Sara Johnson, provided a description of the vehicle to the police and noted that it had a partial license plate number beginning with “BYD”. The police reviewed the surveillance footage from a nearby convenience store, which captured the incident and the description of the vehicle. Investigators traced the vehicle to Chris White after identifying it through the remaining license plate number and conducting a follow up interview with him on September 20th.

Charges are failure to stop after an accident (hit and run): in violation of section 321.261, which requires drivers involved in an accident resulting in injury to immediately stop, provide their information, and render aid.

The next charge is Reckless Driving: In violation of section 321.275 for operating the vehicle in a manner that endangered the life or safety of others. We also have the evidence here. I sit on my chair and turn on the computer before putting in the USB, so I can see the video. After I watch the video, I keep on reading when the door to my office bursts open. I look up only to see the same beautiful man from yesterday. I stand, and he looks at me from head to toe. He’s intimidating and by his aura I can tell he’s someone powerful.

“So you’re the human that was hired yesterday” he growls. He’s a werewolf.

“I am. I’m Skyler Morales”. I introduce myself.

“I want you to know that I was against hiring a human. I don’t think it’s good to have someone like you in our company” he growls.

“You mean this company precisely, right?” I asked and he growled.

“Well, let me tell you something. You may not want me here, but there were five other people who want me here” I said. He walks closer to me and looks down at me. Even in my heels this man towers over me.

“You should quit while you can” he says, his minty breath fanning my face.

“Then you can sit down and wait because I’m not going to quit. In fact, you have just motivated me even more to stay here” I said.

“You know everyone is talking about not wanting you here” he said.

“Idolized or despised either way, I’m still recognized. I’m here to do my job and not to please anyone here” I said, and he growled again.

“Fine, but I’ll be watching you closely. Just a small mistake- a tiny mistake and I will fire you” he growls.

“You must be Mr. Locklear”, I chuckled.

“What’s so funny?” he asked.

“I figured I was going to have a little hard time, but I never thought I would have it from the team leader. Increible (incredible) Anyway, if you please excuse me, I have work to do. Oh, and one more thing. You don’t have to keep growling at me. You’re not the first werewolf I have met. I have met some real monsters in my life, Mr. Locklear, and you don’t scare me”, I said before walking to my chair and, went over the case again. I heard another growl and Mr. Locklear left my office. I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding.
