Chapter 27 - Filzer's Training (1)

881 Words
Filzer watched the Marquis with his envoy leave with all sorts of emotions unintentionally shown on their faces with all the mages looking back at Filzer several times with much curiousity, the knights gripping their swords and staring at the wounds inflicted on the lizardae, and Marquis Heloin who looled extremely ugly with his crumpled and defeated face. Filzer sigh followed by a laugh and waved his hand on the air. He had casted a barrier around the estate's perimeter. Dragons might be arrogant but Filzer was cautious as he was boastful of his capabilities as a Dragon. The ancient Dragon had knew all too well how being too arrogant might cause unneccesary injury to him and his people. Filzer turned around and was about to walk inside when he passed by the lizardae's corpse. His eyes locked on it for a second or two before putting it away to a separate spatial dimension to earn profit later on. "Gramps, is the potato gone?" Cain who have finished washing up was now walking out of the mansion with a stoic face. "Yeah. He looked like a crushed potato. It wasn't a nice sight but it felt quite good." Filzer smiled. Cain frowned and the sides of his lips twitched as he looked at Filzer with an expression of flabbergast and slight disgust. "Old man, how pent up have you been alone inside that spatial dimension of yours?" Cain stepped away from Filzer after the latter glared at him. Filzer lifted his hand and flicked his forefinger in Cain's direction. And before Cain find out what would happen he had already been smacked at the back of his head. "Ahh! That hurt!" Cain complained while rubbing the back of his head. "Go get Telph and cook breakfast. We'll start training today." Filzer ordered Cain, however, before Cain could even move a muscle someone caught his sight. It was Telph running towards them while struggling to keep all the bags in his arms from falling. Both the ancient Dragon and the former King couldn't help but sigh at the sight. "Master, Cain! Are you both alright?!" Telph shouted amidst his heavy breaths. Cain went to his side and grabbed some of the bags Telph was carrying while Filzer levitated the other bags. Telph looked at them with a question mark floating above his head which made the two sighed once more. "Let's go inside." Filzer stated and went in first. Cain followed behind him while Telph ran to walk beside Cain. "What happened? Where's the Marquis?" Telph asked with curious and worried eyes. "Well, the potato went back underground, I guess?" Cain answered without much thought. Telph stopped walking and Filzer, who heard of their conversation could hear the gears in Telph's head turning. Filzer shook his head and proceed inside. They all ate their breakfast that morning and prepared for Cain's training without Telph's knowledge. The new guy couldn't learn about their true identities just yet. And so, Filzer and Cain left him at the estate with some things to do like studying trading and market demands in various fields. It didn't take long before Cain and Filzer arrived at the location of the training ground, after all it was oy in their backyard. The Great Lands was really the best place for Cain to train. It was not only because of its complicated terrain and monsters crawling in every direction but as well as the perfect mana density of the area. As the Great Lands was a wide forest it was covered with nature where mana comes from. It was the best place for a mage to learn how to control the natural mana and how to make it his. It was even better because it was an ancient Dragon who would teach Cain all of this things. He had to thank the privilege he had just for his coincidental meeting with the ancient Dragon. "First, I will inject my mana to you and I will control it. All you have to do is relax and memorize the flow." Filzer said as he pointed on the grass, telling Cain to sit down. After doing the deed, Filzer sat behind him and placed both of his hands on Cain's back and injected the former's mana to the latter. Cain gritted his teeth at the feeling of an ancient Dragon's mana being injected to his body. It was hot and then cold before turning into nothingness but was still there. It was hard to follow the flow of mana inside his body as the inject mana was the Void Dragon's. However, Cain felt something different after a minute. The mana which felt like the nothingness turned into a solemn feeling. A calm feeling as if he was by the riverside listening to the water rush down the stream and at the same time he was feeling the breeze on top of a cliff about the sea. Cain felt a sense of belonging and without knowing, he was taking control of the flow. Riding the waves of mana in his body. Filzer who had noticed this change flinched at the sudden interferance. But soon, the ancient Dragon started to sweat at the sight unfolding in front of him. Cain had become one with nature.
