Everything else disappears

1508 Words
The world is frozen around us. She descends the stairs gracefully, lifting the front of her dress slightly, revealing the black heels underneath. Everything about her is beautiful and I am completely captivated. My chest begins to ache and it takes me a minute to realize that I stopped breathing. My wolf is begging me to go to her. To take her in my arms and never let her go. It kills me to have to stay still. My mate approaches the Alpha and hugs him tightly in her arms. Jealousy flares through me before I remember that this is probably her father. Still, it should be me that is in her arms. Her brown eyes flit across the crowd before connecting to mine. Remember to breathe. A megawatt smile overtakes her face and without thinking, I mirror it. Her eyes travel over me and I shiver slightly under the gaze, loving the feel of my mates eyes on me. The Alpha says something and the music starts again, but none of it registers. As if someone pushed me, my feet begin taking me to her. It seems like it is taking years for us to get to each other, but finally the wait pays off and my beauty is right in front of me. The both of us just stare at each other, drinking in as much as we can about each other. Committing to memory the first contact that we are having with each other. My mind races with all the things I should say. I could tell her my name or ask for hers. I could tell her she is beautiful and that I am already smitten with her. I never gave much thought to what my first words to my mate would be but now that the time is here, I want it to count. I want it to be witty, smart and charming. Spent less than a minute with her and I am already beyond whipped. People surround her and begin pulling her away from me before I could even utter a word. Her eyes meet mine as she grimaces at the intrusion. I can see on her face that she is just as upset about being pulled away from me as I am. I want nothing more than to stomp over there and rip her from them and bring her to wherever I am. "Trev, we gotta go." Greg grabs my shoulder, pulling me away from where I was rooted to the ground. I throw his hands off of me and stop in place. People bump into me at my sudden stop but I don't care. I can't leave yet, I just met her. "What? Why?" I ask rather angrily. Both of them share a look before meeting my eyes. "We found what we needed. There isn't much time." He says like it is the most obvious thing in the world, trying to pull me away again as my heart sinks. In and out that's what we said. We would get what we came for and go, but I never expected to find my mate. The rational side of my brain tells me that I should go and head back to my pack. But the wolf isn't so understanding. I know that I need to go, get back to Black Raven and tell them what we know. But first I need to talk to my mate. I can't just disappear, it would give her the wrong idea. I want her, I need her and she needs to know that I am coming back. That she is mine. "Okay, meet me outside in ten minutes." I rush the words out not even waiting for a response before I turn and move through the crowds. I have ten minutes, I am not going to waste them. I push through people, muttering insincere apologies as I go. It may sound f****d up, but I don't care. My mate is right there and they are hogging her attention. There is only a thin wall of people between us now and I am becoming anxious, but they won't move. I see a small opening and stick my hand through. My hand wraps around her tiny wrist as tingles spreading between us. Both of us frozen for a second as we look into each others eyes, relishing in the feel of the sparks. But I snap out of it faster, we only have ten minutes. I pull her gently into me before leading her out the front door. She keeps up with me, not saying a word as we move to the shadows and privacy of the trees. I move us, so that her back is against a tree, with me hovering over her. My hands skim up her bare arms moving to her cheeks. Her doe like brown eyes staring at me from under the mask and my heartbeat quickens. I want to see her face without the mask. I keep my eyes locked on hers, neither of us uttering a single word. The only sounds that surround us are nature and our quickened breaths. My fingers slowly move through her silky hair, trailing the ribbon that is tied perfectly behind her head. One tug on the ribbon is all it took and I pull the mask away from her milky skin, revealing her face to me. Her eyes closed as I pulled the mask off, her eyelashes laying gently on her cheeks. Her lips a deep red color shaped into a perfect bow, begging to be claimed by my own. Her eyes open and I nearly fall to me knees as she bites her bottom lip gently. I reach to take off my own mask, wanting nothing between us, but her tiny hands stop me. A shiver rolls up my spine as her fingers trail through my hair, untying the mask for me. My mask falls gently to the ground, right next to hers. Her hand gently cups my cheek and I can't help but lean into it. All we did is take our masks off and yet I am feeling breathless. Judging by the rise and fall of her chest, she feels it too. "I'm Eliza." She whispers, trailing her fingers down my jaw. My eyes close as I relish in the sparks, fighting my wolf not to kiss her yet. "Eliza. I'm Trevor" I can't resist anymore as I lean down and place my lips on her cheek. It's not the lips like I wanted, but I don't want to scare her away by moving to fast. "Trevor. I don't recognize you." She says, her hands running through my hair. I love the way my name falls from her lips. It's as if she was the only one meant to say it. We can't keep our hands off of each other. It's like we're blind and the only way to see is to feel. I am not complaining though. This is the closest to heaven I think I have ever been. By the look of wonder on her face, she doesn't mind it either. "You're my mate. I will not lie to you. I am not from your Pack." she doesn't seem surprised as I lean in, pressing our bodies closer. We fit perfectly together, like puzzle pieces. "I am the Beta from Black Raven. but you mustn't tell anyone that. I mean no harm here. We heard your father was planning an attack on us and we came to investigate." She doesn't seem concerned with anything that I told her, she just smiles and looks at me from under her lashes. "You're mine." She whispers, wrapping her arms around my neck. Fuck yeah, I am. I think before our lips meet. Fire ignites in my veins as my hands move to wrap around her waist. Our lips move together like we have been kissing for years and I am determined to make that a true statement. I sweep my tongue along her lower lips asking for entrance, but she denies with a smile. She's teasing me, that little minx. "Trevor!" Greg whisper yells, knowing that I am somewhere in the trees. I pull away from Eliza, running my fingers slowly across her lips. I don't want to leave, but now that my mate is the Alpha's daughter our packs shouldn't be enemies anymore. Finally we will have a reason to set aside the stupid feud and unite. "I will be back for you and we will tell your father and pack then. You're mine" I growl, smashing my lips to hers. I pull away and start walking backwards, not wanting to look away from her until I absolutely have to. "All yours. Please come back soon." She whispers blowing me a kiss. The hardest thing is leaving my mate, but I need to get back to Black Raven. I need to tell them I have found my mate. The sooner I do that, the sooner Eliza and I can be together. My Eliza.
