By with a little help from my friends
Rogues! South western borders! Alpha Elite get there NOW! Enforcers split into teams and cover the other boarders! The Alpha's voice rings through the link.
I throw the Xbox controller I was using to the ground and jump out the open window, shifting in air. Luckily the game room is on the second floor or the landing would have hurt. Then again I'm future beta so maybe not.
All the top families are in the elite; Alpha, beta, Gamma and head warriors. All in all we total about 28 wolves.
Hey, Trev. I'll race ya! Storm the Alpha's son says, running up next to me. His large midnight blue wolf easily caught up to me, even though I had a head start.
That's the thing about Alpha and Beta's. Even though Alpha's are supposed to be stronger and bigger, we are pretty easily matched. Speed, strength, stamina all pull nearly the same numbers if tested, but his wolf is just a hair bigger.
Same bet as always? I ask with a wolfy grin as we run.
You know it. GO! He shots off but I am on his heels easily, nipping at him for fun.
The trees whiz past us in a blur, animals scurrying out of the way as our paws thunder against the earth. The borders are close, we can hear the growls as we close in, but we are neck in neck.
A few more feet and the tree line is in sight. I growl as I push harder, not wanting to lose this bet. The line is crossed and we both immediately go towards a different rogue.
I take mine down easily enough before moving on to the next. I carefully access the situation. At least twenty rogues all fighting one of the elite, but they stand no chance. I lunge towards one as he is about to blind side the Alpha.
I lock my jaws on his neck, shaking my head as he paws at me to let him go. I can feel his fight diminishing the metallic taste of blood floods my mouth. I fling his body towards a tree watching as he slides down and stops moving.
I turn to face another one at the same time Storm does. We both stalk towards the rogue, slowly moving in a circle like vultures waiting for the kill. It is a move we have been doing since we were sixteen and it hasn't let us down over the last four years. I launch for the neck well Storm goes for the paws.
I get in position to launch but the rogue does something that I don't expect. He shifts.
"Please don't kill me!" He whimpers, cowering towards the ground and covering his head with one arm.
Storm and I share the same confused look before watching the boy. He seems to be about seventeen and obviously scared. This has never happened before.
Storm growls silently asking this rogue why we should spare him when he and his men attacked us.
"I-I have information! I'll tell you, Please!" His voice is frantic as he tries to get lower to the ground.
Shift and talk to him Storm says and I nod before my bones begin to realign.
Shifting used to hurt but now it feels good. Almost like when you sit for too long but then get up and stretch. I stand in front of this rogue, not at all concerned with the fact that I am butt naked. I have nothing to be ashamed of.
"What kind of information?" I ask, crossing my arms over my broad chest. It's my intimidating stance.
"About an a-attack. From the Dark Moon pack." I stiffen and notice the hair on the back of Storm's neck stand on end.
He could be lying. Everyone knows that Black Raven and Dark Moon are enemies! Storm has a point, It's common knowledge that we are rivals.
"Why should be trust you? You're a rogue." I spit out my words with enough venom, satisfied when he gives a scared whimper.
"I'll tell you everything. Please. I didn't want to be a rogue. He promised us a pack!"
He's scared, might be telling the truth. I nod at Storms words.
Let's take him back and interrogate him further. If he's not useful, we'll deal with it then. Storm huffs in agreement.
I step forward to grab the rogue when Storm growls at me to stop.
He can't know the way to the pack house. He is still a rogue!
"Alright kid. You're coming with us. But this is nothing personal." I say, causing him to look at me confused.
I give him a small smile before raising my fist and punching him hard in the face, watching him drop to the ground in a heap.
"K.O! Nice!" Storm standing next to me, clapping me on the shoulder.
I laugh as we turn to face the rest of the clearing. All of the elite have shifted into human form, cleaning up the mess of rogues.
"Well?" Storm and I ask a lot the same time, looking expectantly at the men.
All eyes shift between one another before finally they speak.
"I saw Storm first." Greg says.
"What? No! Trevor beat him by a head!" Justin says, shoving Greg with his shoulder and pointing towards us.
The clearing erupts in talks and arguments before finally the Alpha wolf whistles for us to stop.
"Alright. All those who think Storm raise your hand. All those who think Trevor take a seat." From first glance it looks like a tie as Alpha Dean counts.
"Sorry son. Trevor wins by one vote." I throw my fists in the air in victory as the men clap and get back to work.
Storm grumbles but gets back to clearing up the rogues bodies before throwing the knocked out rogue over his shoulder and heading back.
I finally make it back to the pack house and go straight back to the game room with a couple of the guys. The rogue will be out for a while so we have some time to kill.
We're in the middle of a round of Halo when Storm comes in with a scowl.
He's dressed in a small French maid outfit, that shows a lot of his hairy legs then I really care to see. But the bet lets him chose the outfit. He has a feather duster in one hand and a basket of snacks and sodas in the other.
The game paused, while we all focus on Storm. He takes a deep breath before setting the basket onto the coffee table, rolling his eyes before he speaks.
"Trevor is the greatest." His voice void of emotion as he turns around to leave the room.
The room erupts with laughter, but I shush them waiting for the last part of the bet. As if on cue we hear his footsteps running through the house as he shouts 'I LOVE p***s'.
I can't hold the laughter in anymore as tears stream down my face.
