"Come inside. Let's have coffee. Jake and Gwen were great and I instructed them to teach the second batch. I won't be here forever so I figured I'm going to teach them how to teach others too." I told him. He placed the wooden spears outside the cabin and went inside to have coffee with me. I handed him the progress report before I could forget. He read my reports while we had coffee and we talked about the pros and cons of pack laws. "So you've been here chatting." Shienna appeared at my door. Ruining my day for the second time. Make it three and she'll be the first head to hang. Lex growled so loud it shook the room. Chester was dumbstruck. Shienna stepped back. "Wayne will hear from me how you disrespected me again!" She bolted. I chuckled. "Coward." "I have to go. Alpha just called me. I think you're in trouble,Hunter. You shouldn't do that to my Luna." He said, putting his cup down. I don't know why I felt hurt when he called her his Luna. "My bad." Was all I can say. I don't take some things seriously when it comes to threats and whatever. The last time I checked, they needed me more than I needed them. Yet why do I feel disappointed? Hurt? And jealous? "You're supposed to be his Luna." Lex growled in irritation. She must've felt my pain. Chester left and suddenly I remembered my pups. I need to check on them. "You shouldn't have growled like that,Lex." I scolded her. Leaving my cabin. "I don't like her. She should stay away." Lex replied, clearly not regretting anything. I returned to the training grounds and continued teaching them, I sparred with a few pups since I needed to put my point into action. I was expecting Wayne to come scolding me for what I did but he didn't come. Chester returned to his own work and I saw Shienna leaving with Wayne. Hours passed and the training was over, so I went to check on the farm. The elders were busy watering the vegetables and some were shredding leaves for the compost bin. I helped them with their chores so they wouldn't have to be outside because it started to get dark. It was Judy's group who were in charge of the dinner. I helped them prepare it too. The kitchen in the pack house where Wayne lived looked newly renovated but it doesn't look like it's a fully functioning kitchen. Is this just for display? This is ridiculous. I scoffed. "Where are the cooking pans here?" I asked Judy. "We don't cook here,Ms.Hunter. We cook outside." She answered. I knew it! I laughed. "Go get the pans. I'm cooking here." I ordered her. She gulped in front of me. Sensing this is trouble but I don't care. I love trouble! Wayne and Shienna arrived past five in the afternoon, Shienna was carrying paper bags, all from designer brands. So she went shopping. Great. Talk about saving money am I right? Wayne was all serious and never gave me a glance. How could he? I was hiding. Silly me. "What's that smell?" I heard her yell from the stairs. Here we go again. She came rushing into the kitchen. "What the hell!? Who told you to use my kitchen!?" She screamed her anger at me. I continued cooking. "Nobody. It's a kitchen. This is where we should cook otherwise what are kitchens for? Right?" I gave her a glance. Wayne was with her. Wayne sighed."You're overacting,Shienna. It's just a kitchen." "She's going to ruin this kitchen. I just got this renovated, babe!" She complained. "This is a pack house. Does "pack" mean anything to you? It means a group of people living in the same house sharing everything. Including the kitchen." I said, spelling it out for her. This time I don't care if Wayne's listening. I've had enough of her today. Wayne growled. "Hunter! In my office. Now!" He ordered. Shienna smiled in victory. She folded her arms and gave me a raised eyebrow. Wayne stormed out first. Clearly he is going to scold me in a closed door. Like hell I would not scold him back! "Now you got us in trouble." Lex said, amused that I lost my patience. "You started it!" I scolded her too. My hands were sweating in anger. Even the door handle in his office felt slippery. I sighed. Don't worry. He can't be that upset and even if he is, so what? I don't care. I tightened my hand on the door handle. f**k! Who am I kidding? I cared. "Sit down." He ordered. The moment I opened the door. I stood still and closed the door behind me. "What did I do this time?" I asked. "I know you're trying to help but she's the Luna of this pack! If you have a problem with her, you take it directly to me." He scolded me. My head hurts. My heart hurts. "You want to hear problems? I can do that." I retorted. "I'm all ears." He replied. I walked in front of his desk so that I could say it to his face. "She invades my personal space! Second, she spends money on shopping even though there's a financial crisis in her pack! Third, she renovates the whole kitchen for display and makes everybody cook outside! Don't you realize, what if it rains outside? She wants her warm dinner without thinking about the situation of those preparing it for her! Let's not forget, she sent Gilly out there to die over some broken fancy plate! If she doesn't want to be disrespected by me then she should stay away from me and let me do my work without her presence or Goddess knows what will happen if my wolf snapped!" I finished. Woah it felt good to say it all. "Is that all?" He asked. "There's more if she doesn't stay away." I answered calmly. "I'll tell her to stay away from you and you can do your work without her presence from now on." He told me. I sighed. "Thank you." "I'm not done yet." He added. I stood still. Waiting for him to continue. "This is the last time you will talk to her like that. She's the Luna of my pack. If you disrespect her, you disrespected me." He said coldly. I felt my cold shivers in my nerves. I inhaled my disappointment. I don't expect anything from him at all. He's right. I feel sorry for the pack. I stayed because I felt pity for the young pups in the borders. "I didn't help because of my needs, Alpha Wayne. I've seen packs crumble for years and I felt sorry for them. I don't want this pack to suffer the same fate and I don't want them to suffer while they're here. That's all." I said, feeling the numbness after the pain. I hate this feeling. Making me feel I did something wrong when all I ever wanted was to help. "I know." He replied plainly. Knock! Knock! Beta Chester entered. Followed by two men. My eyes grew wide. "Lucas!?" —"Hunter?" We both yelled at the same time. He ran to hug me but I never forgot how he messed me up the last time. I pulled my dagger under my dress and pushed him to the wall with the blade on his throat. I growled angrily. Remembering the past. "Lucas, you p***y!" He chuckled. "Still feisty as always,Hunter. Nice to meet you again." He greeted me. I let him go and hid my dagger away. Slap! "Ouch!" Lucas complained. Massaging his face. "I can't say I didn't deserve that." He said chuckling. I chuckled. "What are you doing here, you lazy mutts?" "Lazy? We're here for a job. What are you doing here?" He asked. "Same." I answered. Wayne growled. Taking our attention back to him. "You knew each other?" He asked. He looked pissed. "Of course, Alpha Wayne. Me and my brother Cane. She's one hell of a partner in crime." He answered. "Ops. I forgot about you Cane." I said, giving him a hug. Wayne growled even louder and everyone in the room wondered why. "What crime?" Wayne asked.
