Chapter 7

Conner pov

I still can't believe my dad is making me do this. I had to do everything possible to make Cindy safe. I'm going to marry this b***h then devorise her the first of the year. I won't stay married to her any more longer then I have to be. I had to make sure I looked good. I wore black jeans a black t-shirt made sure I even smelled good. I have to charm her some how. I was ready to head out. I got the paperwork that I needed and headed toward the front door. When I got to the door my dad was waiting for me, he nodded like he approved of what I was wearing.

"Listen, I know you hate me right now. And I'm good with that. But do what I tell you to do. And your luna will stay safe. That's all I have to say. Do you have the paperwork you need for the meeting?" I nodded and raised my right hand with the folder I was holding. He threw a set of keys at me. I caught them before they hit the ground.

"What are these for?"

"There for the truck you've been wanting, the blue Dodge Ram, don't get in a wreck, now get going," I nodded, said thanks and headed outside. I went into the garage and sure enough there was the blue dodge ram sitting there waiting for me. I unlocked the door and jumped inside. Dad had it raised up with huge tires. There was a awesome radio with two huge speakers in the back. The seats where leather it's just how I wanted it. I turned the key and the engine purred to life. Alright lets go do this. Because as soon as we get married the sooner we can end it. Alpha Jordan's pack was about an hour away, I tried to take my time, but the more I tried it seemed the faster I got there. At first. I thought it was a road to a dead end. But it turned into a huge forest. All you could see was trees, I had to go five miles before I got to a pair of iron gates. There were three huge guards standing there looking at me. I rolled down my window,

"I'm here for a meeting with your alpha. I have the paperwork to prove it." the tallest guard came over to my truck. And took the folder from my hand and looked at the first page, he nodded and closed it.

"He's telling the truth. Open the gates. And i'll mindlink the alpha to let him know," he looked back over at me. Then took a good look at my truck.

"Nice jacked up truck. See you at the mud hole." he moved out of the way. And I drove through the gates, alright well I'm inside the gates. Day one, I tried to look around while I was driving. They had beautiful territory, I could tell they take good care of it. I even saw a play ground for the young pups. A training ground. They even had a guard house. And what I saw there was houses in the back. I wondered what those are for. When I was close to the pack house. I parked the truck in the driveway, then jumped down. Dad knew what I liked. I saw a man and a woman on the porch. My guess it was the alpha and his luna. I made my way up the stairs,

"Hello Alpha Conner its very nice to meet you young man. I know who your father is. I hope you didn't take after him." shaking my head no. I shook Jordan's hand.

"No sir. I didn't, I do not want to be anything like him." I was thinking to myself and that is the truth. I never want to be anything like my father at all.

"Good, good. Come on inside. Do you want anything to drink?"

"sure. I'll have Brandy. Lite on the ice please." We walked into his office. I saw two other women and a man, they stood up when we walked inside. I liked his office. It felt homey. He had a dark marble desk with a flat screen computer. It had weird looking objects floating around the screen. The paperwork was all in a pile that needed to be filed. Book shelves with lots of books and scrolls. Two couches. One leather the other looked so comfortable you could sleep on it. Family photos were on the wall, even a TV mounted on it. Chairs were in front of the desk, a small mini bar on the left corner.

"Conner please have a seat and get comfortable." He handed me my drink as I sat down in one of the chairs. I couldn't stop looking at this one girl. I knew she wasn't Jordon's daughter, I knew it right away. And she just couldn't stop looking at me. Did I just find my mate? My wolf Holler. Kept looking at her through my eyes, it was weird because he's never done this before. Before I could stop myself. I whispered mate. No no this can't be happening. I have to have his daughter. I quickly looked over at his daughter. I knew who she was by the photo my dad gave me, and said mate. She shook her head no.

"I'm sorry sir. But I am not your mate." I nodded. I could not pull this off at all. My mate was standing right next to her. Still looking at me, I knew I fuxked up. So I will pull it off like it was a joke or something. I looked back at my mate smiling. Jordon cleared his throat.

"Alright. Well let's get down to business. So what did you come here for Alpha Conner?"

"Sir. I am no Alpha just yet. Trust me if I was my father would no longer be living in the pack house. He sent me here to do his work, and I don't know why. I know he pissed you off many years ago. But I am not him, I hope you will agree on the treaties, it states. If we have any rogue attacks we can call on you and vice versa, if we need any help with money and vice versa we can help each other. We will invite you to our pack once a month and so on for dinners. And you as well. There will be no fights. But there are rules. We can not try to take over each other's packs. I put that in there. I know dad will be pissed. But he's not here to stop this so oh well, we will not fight over territory, because we both have our own. You can look it over if you want." I handed him the folder. And that's what he did. He looked it over even the fine print as well.

"Well Conner. You outdid yourself. I do agree to these terms. My father and mother built this pack from the ground up on their own. They made it strong and worth what it is today. We are all family in this pack. And I would never sign it away to your father. Or anyone else." he took a pin and signed the last paper, I did the same. We shook hands. I finally took a swallow from my drink. Damn I wish I had more. I turned my attention to my mate. My heart was racing. What about Cindy? What is she going to think or do, I don't know what to do anymore. I will just reject this woman.

"What is your name Mate?"

"My name is Mariah, I'm a warrior in this pack. One of the best." I nodded and said.

"My mother was a warrior. Until she died from a rogue attack. I don't think it was just an attack. I think it was an attack on her. But.I have yet to prove it" Alpha Jordon. If you don't mind. I would like to get to know my mate before I head home.``

"I have no problems with that Conner. Mariah is one of my best warriors in this pack, She knows how to handle herself." I got up from my seat. Took her hand and lead her out of the office.

"Where can we go and talk? I think I need to discuss something with you." She nodded and took me to a pond where two chairs are set up. It looked like they could come and fish or something. That's what I would do. I placed my chair in front of her so I could look at her beautiful eyes. I begin to talk,

"Mariah, I'm not going to reject you. But I have to confess okay. I have a chosen mate at home. That my father locked up in the cells until I got back home."

"Why the h3ll would he do that to your chosen mate? What did she do?"

"She didn't do anything. It's what he wants me to do and is forcing me to do. He wants me to marry alpha Jordons daughter for a year so he could take over your alphas pack. And kill them off. I don't want to do this.but if I don't go back there telling him something he's going to kill Cindy. I have to play along. Until I can figure something out. I came here today to try to swoon her. But I just couldn't. Not when your my goddess gifted mate. I want to get to know you more. Mariah. I never would have thought I would find my mate here. I looked around the world for her and I couldn't find her until today. It's the only reason why I picked Cindy. I hope you will forgive me."

"Listen okay. I don't blame you for any of this. You didn't know you were going to find me here, and I didn't know we were going to be mates.," I understand. But you must choose. Between us. Even if it won't be me. You must choose "

Mariah pov

I couldn't believe I just found my mate. He's sexy as heck with his dark eyes and shoulder length dark hair. I could just run my fingers through and those arms I could do pull ups on, when the business was done he asked if he could get to know me I was thrilled. I walked him over to the fishing pond and sat down, he started telling me about his father and his chosen mate. My heart sank when he told me about her. But he thought I didn't exist so he chose a mate. I couldn't believe what his father wanted him to do. I understand that. But I also told him he needed to choose between us. Even if it wasn't me he needed to chose,

"Conner, I think you should go home. Tell him that you and Jordons daughter are mates. Play along with this game so he will let Cindy out of those cells. And then I hate this more than ever, but bring her here fir a day so he will think you took her with you to be safe. I will go and explain to my alpha what's going on. If you can do this then i will see you either later tonight or tomorrow okay." We both stood up. I was trying so hard not to break down and cry. I was a warrior for crying out loud. We hugged and kissed each other. The Sparks of the mate bond were flying all around us. It was me that let go and walked away. I had to. If I didn't then I would have started crying. This is going to be harder than I thought, I headed inside to talk to the alpha.
