At that exact moment, an ominous air causes a shiver to crawl down my spine like a snake. Almost as if someone's glaring at me from a far. That weird feeling's enough to temporarily distract me from Daron as I take a glance behind me. Immediately I spot those familiar eyes amongst the crowded hall. Hair, silver and white, lips clamped tight and a heavy aura surrounding him. Abel isn't looking at me when he finally stops beside me. Instead, his eyes are fixated towards Daron who's displaying a smile. Out of the two of us, Abel was the most affected when Daron suddenly distanced himself from us without an explanation. In a sense, I understand what he's feeling right now. It's not easy facing someone who abandoned you after giving so many happy memories. "Hey, man. Long time no see uh?" I flinch when Abel smacks away the hand that was about to pat him. Okay. I get that he's still hurt but he shouldn't have done that. Daron chuckles nervously, attempting to avoid embarrassment by coughing lightly. Bewildered, I send Abel the kind of face to ask what was wrong with him. What he did just now was rude. Even for him. Guilt swamping me, I face Daron with an apologetic expression. "I-im sorry for that. I'm not sure what's wrong with him now." I firmly grip my hand around Abel's arm, making sure to dig my fingers deep into his clothed skin. The guy barely flinches from the pain injected on him Then again, what was I expecting? He's not a normal human after all. "It was nice talking to you again. Guess we'll see you around. Please excuse us." And with force, I drag this stupid wolf away from Daron. Once we've reached a perfect distance, the arm I'd been gripping so hard slips from my fingers which causes me to stumble back from the suddenness. "I can't believe you." Grits the wolf. Eyes squinted, he rubs the space between his eyebrows like he's about to have a massive headache. My eyes rolls to the heavens but I still try to consider how he feels. "Hey, I know you're still angry about what he did but you shouldn't have done that." He chuckles darkly. Confused, I tilt my head to the side. "I'm not angry." "Yeah. Totally. You're not angry." "I'm not angry." This time his voice is low and somber. "I just didn't like it. When you were talking to him." Now it was my turn to rub the area between my forehead. "Well in that case, good. I'm going first." Van appears around the corner with her hair tied up into a pony tail, lose fringes accentuating her sides. A pile of large books rest limp in her hands and her expression when she notices me remains neutral as ever. As if I was just washed with a wave of awe, my legs automatically halt in their steps to stare at this goddess of a woman. Her beauty's really out of this world and I personally think she'd make a perfect partner for Abel. When I don't move an inch, she glances over my shoulder before capturing my eyes again. "Move." "O-oh right. Sorry." I step aside, allowing her to pass when a thought strikes in. My face brightens up with the idea in my head. I run up to the girl, sliding myself a couple of books from her hold. "You're headed to the library right? Here. He'll help you." Abel's left dumbfounded when I dump the rest of the books in his arms. Van remains indifferent, subtly nodding before walking ahead. But before Abel can follow along like a little puppy with their master, the burn in his eyes returns and he leans in to growl in my ear. "I won't let this pass." I watch him then walk away with an eyebrow raised up. What the hell was that suppose to mean? I shake my head and let it slip. Loona's probably already in the cafeteria right now. *** Classes went by smoothly after that with no assignments given out. I've never been so happy in my entire life. Loona and I were just walking down the side walk when a handsome motorcycle stops right beside us. "You know him?" She whispers in my ear. I shake my head. But once the helmet's off and a recognizable face pops up, I nod my head unconsciously. Loona pulls the lollipop out of her mouth with an unimpressed expression. "So you do know him." That lean figure of a body belongs to non other than Daron. Crimson stains my neck and face when I recall how I used to have a huge crush on him. "El." He smiles my way as he hops out, sending Loona a courteous nod. But In return, the girl beside me suddenly steps a foot forward and points her nose in the air at his direction. I'm embarrassed in her behalf. She's sniffing the air like a dog in front of a confused being. To save her reputation, I grab her arm and pull her back to my side and hiss in a volume that only she can hear . "Stop. He's human." "Maybe." She mutters, staring at the boy. "I'm Loona. Elka's bestfriend. I've seen you around school." "Daron." He smiles. "I.. um.. I've known El since we were kids." I step in before Loona can bomber him with unnecessary questions. "Do you need anything? Abel didn't bother you right?" "Oh no he didn't." My heart flutters with the way he smiles. Unknowingly, Loona hears the sudden change of my heart beat and tosses me an odd look. "I was hoping if I could talk to you." Adds Daron, rubbing a nervous hand behind his neck. "Um..just the two of us that is. I..I believe there's a few things I need to explain." "O-okay." I turn to Loona. "You can go ahead." "Are you sure you don't want me to tag along?" "Everything's fine." After a minute of hesitation, she finally nods her head and leaves. My hands suddenly feels clamp and sweaty. But no matter how nervous Daron makes me feel, this could only be the chance I get to finally hear him out. I already have an idea of where this conversation is heading. "So what is it?" "I'm sorry."
