The Chase

Connor POV

I went back to the club called "Secret hole" in my rented car. I went to the bar and asked the staff member for a manager I can talk to.

"Stay here I will get him. Just a minute.-he said and disappeared behind a door. I sit on a barstool and wait patiently. Some minutes later a tall, bald, and with a big beard showed up.

"Hi. My name is John Jackson. Nice to meet you. This is my bar, how can I help you?-He asks curiously.

"My name is Connor Graham. Nice to meet you too. I am looking for some of your staff members. Her name is Sophie Emma Scott. I met her here and I want to contact you.

"Sorry, Mr. Graham but I can't give out our staff member personal information. We protect our workers from horny guys.

"Well, Mr. Jackson. I understand that but I really need to find her. She left something and I want to give her back personally.-I use my Alpha tone that after here everybody obeys and follows my order.

"Fine...I make exceptions just for you. Please wait here until I will get her information. She lives with her colleague Grace. They work together on Saturday night. I tell you about it Sophie reported sick for her tomorrow shift.-He said in a low voice to me then left.

He came back a little bit later with a piece of paper with her address written on it. I drove to her place and smelled her cinnamon rolls scent but very faintly. When I tried to ring the bell but then the apartment front door opened. The other waitress from the bachelor party night walked out with a smile on her face but when she saw me her smile disappeared. She steps back and tries to push close the door on my face. But I am stronger than she, she is just a human. I just push for her direction and open the door wide.

"Hi, Grace right? I'm looking for Sophie. I know she lives here with a you.-I smirk at her.

"Yes I live here with her and I know who you are and what you did with her. You make my best friend's life horrible. How could you do this with her? You're her mate, you have to accept her and love her for the rest of your lives. I don't help you with anything.

"I know what I did to her and want to speak with her. So you know about the werewolf I see. Interesting because no human has to know about us the only exception is if their mate is a human. I have my reasons why I did that with her. Please lead me to your apartment because I need to talk with her.

"Yes, I know about your kind. She didn't have to say anything. I guess about her behavior. I know you never heard this word loverboy but NO in every way.

"And why is that the answer is a NO? Tell me.-I to ask with more anger in my voice than I use my Alpha voice is always working.

"She left. She leaves me a letter that she can't stay here any longer because of YOU. She wants it as far away from you as possible. I don't know where she is. My best friend leaves me and her phone is off. She packed all her precious and most important stuff and left our apartment.

"What? She just left it's impossible. I have to find her. Where could she be?

"I have no idea. Good luck finding her. She is very good at hiding from the ones she doesn't want to contact. If you find her please don't hurt her again. See ya.-she said, left me and I saw tears in her eyes. Sh*t..What am I going to do now? How will I find her? My life now goes down in the toilet. My wolf is angry at me, my friends are angry at me, and I'm sure that my pack will be angry too when they hear that I rejected their future Luna. I have to check the bus station, train station and the airport. Maybe somebody saw her.

Sophie POV

After I pack my suitcases and leave Grace a letter I call a taxi I went straight to the airport. Turn off my phone because I don't want anyone to reach me to question why I do this. Here comes my new life after I step on the airplane. I don't have to wait much for my plane because it will depart 1 hour later. I sit on my chair and sigh. Because stupid Connor now I have to leave and my best friend also. I will contact her later when I settle down. I have a 5 hours long flight and after 2 more hours up in the mountains. I plug my music player in my ear and listen to my favorite music that makes me feel good and fit for my mode. Conor Maynard- You broke me first is perfect for my mood. He sings like he feels my pain too and makes him break too. I fast fell asleep and dreamt about a perfect life with a loving mate.

After my plane is landed I collect my suitcases and find my way to pick up my rented car. Just a little drive and I will be alone by myself. I finally arrived at my destination, my cabin. Thankfully I can change my reservation for this year, not next because now it's not a busy season. In September like now not many people hike here. They like better summer and winter seasons.

"Hi, I have a reservation for Sophie Emma Scott.-I said to an older man behind a desk.

"Ohh yeah welcome here at "Mountain Paradise". My name is George Adams. Nice to meet you. We talked just this morning. Do you know how long you want to stay? Your cabin is ready. We can give you split wood if you need it. Every week once we write a list of things our guest needs and we can buy them or a little village just 30minutes drive from here if you won't do this by yourself. Everything else is in the cabin plumbing, electricity, and Wi-Fi internet is included. If you need anything else don't be afraid to ask.

"Thanks, Mr.Adams. Nice to meet you too. Ooohh yeah, I remember your voice now. I want the split wood but the grocery shopping I can do myself, but thanks. I'm not sure about my stay but I say now 1 month then I will have an answer. Thank you everything sounds good.

"Ok. We will bring you more wood tomorrow. You have enough in the cabin for two days or more. I give you this map. Your cabin is the last one on the left number 20. You just follow the road straight and you'll find it. Here are your keys and enjoy your stay.-he said and handed it over to my cabin keys. I sit back in my car and drive on my way to my cabin. Some minutes later I finally reached it. Around the house, there are trees everywhere. I park my car and get out. I take out my suitcases and walk closer to the cabin. It's a cute wooden house within the front covered porch. Flower plots everywhere. It's beautiful. Insight a breathtaking lake with crystal clear water. I know I will enjoy every minute I stay here in peace. I unlock the front door and step inside. When I enter the house I step into the living room with a fireplace in the middle of it. An older television is also in the living room with a coffee table. On the right, a little dining table is enough for three people. Near the dining table, the kitchen is not a big one but enough for me with a microwave, stove sink, and double door fridge. I walk out of the kitchen for the hall. It has two bedrooms with queen sizes beds and a bedside table on both sides with lamps. A little wardrobe near the bedside table. At the end of the hall a bathroom with a shower, wash-dry machine, and a toilet. Very simple but perfect for me. I put my suitcases in the wardrobe and take a long shower. I feel exhausted. I went to bed and very quickly fell asleep.
