Chapter 5

1039 Words
Samika's POV I called Nyle again and this time too, it directed me to a voicemail. I didn't want to leave him a voice note behind so I didn't say anything and hung the call up. I then dialed Alyssa and she didn't answer either. I pace in my room. I know I should be taking a quick shower because I invited the Gamma family over. But I can't help it. I need to fix this. I need to talk to Nyle. I want to know if there is a way I can leave now and come back. I should talk to Devon too, because technically he is my mate and I should talk to him before I let him know that it's Nyle that I want to be with. Just when my mind is storming with all these thoughts, my phone vibrates and I release a sigh when I see it's Alyssa. It's still better. "Hey," I say as soon as I answer her call. "Heyyy! I was changing Lavender's diaper earlier," she says and that's valid, for a new mom to be busy with all such things. Moreover she has no help. "It's okay. How is everything?" I asked her and I didn't want to come straight to the point but I want to know what Nyle is doing and if he is okay. "Tim and I have been in heaven since I don't have my pain in the ass brother with me. How are you both enjoying it?" She asks me back. Great. He is not at home either. Then where did he go? "Yes. Fun. Ok I need to go. I'm in the middle of something I'm sorry," I tell her and hang up. I indeed take a quick shower and change into my only clean pair of clothes now. Every other pair is dirty and I should ask someone to help me with the laundry. And maybe buy a few more pairs of clothes too. I walk downstairs, my hair is still damp. I see Devon and Cass on the three seater couch while Tyler has a boy in his arms. Tyler is standing close to the main door as he shows something and talks to the baby boy. "Oh heyy!" Cass beams and I smile back at her. Tyler walks to us too and I take a look at the boy. He is a perfect blend of his parents. The boy has ginger hair like his dad. His eyes are blue like his mom. His nose and mouth resembles Tyler again but the fact cut is from Cass. A really perfect blend. This time I notice Tyler's eyes and they are as brown as they can be. "She is our Alpha now," Tyler says as he shows me to his son,"Alpha Samika" "Alpha," the boy says and attempts to bow to me but I take him in my arms, asking him not to bow to me anytime. "What's your name?" I ask him and he smiles at me, one innocent smile. "Austin," he says and it is such a beautiful name for a beautiful baby boy. I kiss both of Austin's cheeks and Tyler takes him back from my arms to his. Gladys lets us know that the food is ready and she looks happy. That tells me Alpha Jerome never invited someone over. Because you should see the way she is enjoying all this. It warms my heart up. I ask Cass and Tyler to go and sit but ask Devon to stay back. He looks at me in confusion and I wait for Cass and Tyler to completely stay out of my vision when I start talking. "Nyle. He didn't get back to his home. His sister still thinks he is with me," I tell Devon and he rolls his eyes. "What do I have to do with that?" He asked me. "You have nothing to do with that. But please help me trace him," I asked Devon. He doesn't say anything, but takes a step forward. I don't budge. He leans a little and searches my face for something. I still look at his hazel eyes, and yet again.. unable to read what they are trying to say. Just a few seconds later, he leans back and takes a step backwards. He gives me a curt nod and walks towards the dining hall. The lunch was a delight with chatter and all. Cass and I even made a plan right then and there that we'd go shopping and get ourselves some new clothes while Tyler and Devon baby sit Austin. I debated if I should let Olive know I'm coming but decided against it. I don't have Nyle with me and she doesn't know Cass. Devon also lends us his car, and I drive it to the human land. "Oh My God! You know how to drive?? That's impressive," Cass beams as she looks at me again and again with eyes filled with excitement. "I've been a human all my life," I say and didn't intend a joke, but it came out that way. Cass shows me directions here and there, while I manage most of it. Once we reached the highway that's when she sat back at ease. It's technically my territory so I know everything here. I drive to the other side of the town since Olive, Matt, Brent or even Tim for that matter have a chance to spot me on that side of the town. I am not ready for it. But I don't have any clothes either. I can't fit in Cass's clothes. She is a curvy Goddess and she told me her curves are more distinct now that she is a mother. Cass is a really really beautiful woman. Olive and Cass could work as models and make a living out of it. I park Devon's car and look around before getting down. There is a small shopping complex that people usually use for quick getaways, and I take Cass to that. But what I did not expect to run into, or more like.. who I did not expect to run into, is standing right there with a smirk on his face. My father.
