Avery POV
“Kieran,” I called his name softly and he responded.
“Don't you notice something new about me today?” I asked as I opened a new tab on his system.
“No, absolutely not! I must say one thing that I couldn't help but notice clearly…”
Eagerly, I leaned in close to him, glad at the fact that he had finally noticed a clue. “What is that?”
“The fact that you have huge dark circles and look there are even slight wrinkles on your face. Oh my goodness is that acne?” he added, reaching out for the slight bumps in my skin. His words pierced through my soul like glass shards against the skin.
Aidan's words were brute and blunt but Kieran's words are just on a whole new level.
“Don't you notice anything else like my outfit?” I asked, blinking my lashes at him coyly.
“Yes,” he paused mid air and that made absolute relief flood through my veins.
“You are wearing my favorite raspberry pink color, you always do that when you want to appease me,” he mouthed, grabbing my cheeks again.
Wait, what's up with him and grabbing my cheeks and pinching it every minute he got the chance. I made a mental note to tell him later because it hurts like hell.
“Oh Kieran, the almighty future Alpha, how could you be so blind to notice the fact that I am currently wearing a dress for the first time in a few months,” I finally stated as anger welled in my eyes as I glared at him.
“Damn Avery, I am so sorry about that I didn't even realize that…” he paused, the moment he realized that his words weren't doing anything to ease my anger.
“I am sorry Avery, I didn't realize that because you look stunning as usual !” he flattered and that comment made me blush tremendously.
“Fine, when should we go for scent masking? It is about time right?” I asked with uncertainty in my expressions.
“ I had always known the renewal date by heart but just not this time, I guess it was due to the stress and the work.”
“You of all people know how busy I am with all of my alpha training and packing paperworks. Of course, I wouldn't bother myself about something so trivial!” He chuckled and I could only help but put down my lower lips. This is what I dislike about Kieran, he has this very habit of belittling important things and tasks. I have tried to make him change several times but later gave up the moment I realized that I can only change him only if he is ready to accept the change. So I just let him be.
“So when do you think we should go for that Kieran, I am thinking we should do that before your alpha coronation…” I paused realizing the fact that I was the only one making the decisions. “What do you think?” I asked him as his eyes were fixated on mine.
“Anything you want my senorita ,” he whispered in a flirty tone whilst diving in for a kiss.
“Hmm,” I could only moan his tongue as I dived in for another deep kiss.
“That's enough senorita, now we should pause and seek out an important matter,” he whispered in my ears.
“As you wish bossy Alpha Kieran,” I smiled at him.

Kieran pulled up in our driveway hours later. My hands were on his during the entire drive, I was either painfully teasing it or painfully squeezing it. From the rear view mirror, I could see a familiar black car towing right behind us. I was able to identify it because apparently it is my car.
Kieran insisted that we ride together and his driver bring mine home. I agreed at once of course wanting to get some breeze with my soon to be fiance.
“You see the pack amusement over there,” he gestured with his hands and I looked at the large area he was talking about filled with shiny bright lights. We are going to renovate it once we rule over this pack. We are going to bring our beautiful pups here and enjoy each ride,” he promised which made a huge smile creep to my cheeks. He is just so sweet. Moon goddess knows that I already envisioned what he just said and I was in on it. I mean, this is our future, our future together.
“About the scent masking, I have been thinking…” I began and at once he gave me all of his attention. “I think we should speak with Ester to help us mask away our scents forever!” I finally completed and he immediately pulled over, his eyes blaring with fury.
“What Avery, are you kidding me right now? Do you know how dangerous that is?” He yelled in my face.
“Of course, I am fully aware of how dangerous this is.” I responded in the same tone. We are trying to go against the moon goddess by masking our scents from our own true mates. We shouldn't expect it to be an easy task right? Kieran and decided this when we decided to become chosen mates.
We decided to mask our own scents to keep outset from finding our own mate and making them face the hassle of rejections. We had to convince Ester, the pack seer, to help us with the scent masking ritual which we do every six months. She believed that we don't have to go through this torture because we might regret our decisions later on but Kieran and I was unstoppable. We had already got our minds set and bet on it and proceeded with the ritual.
“Yes I do, which is why I want Ester to help us find a way to perform a final ritual which will end this once and for all.” I tried to reason with him.
“Avery, you know I can't bear to lose you right?” his voice was vulnerable at that moment as he helped my face.
“Yes I know Kieran,” I breathed in his nose and the next second, our lips met and we were soon lost in a passionate kiss.
“Kieran, I think you should come in and have dinner with us. Besides I also need your opinion on a client's personal matter,” my sister's high pitched voice snapped me into the present and I gave her a small smile.
“That's so sweet of you Piper, is mom asleep?” I asked in a hushed find. If she realizes that I am back home and especially with Kieran she is going to start serenading us and trust me that is the least of things I want right now.
“No she is actually on a date night with dad, I had to set them up,” she said and I furrowed my brows suspiciously. Piper rarely gives a hoot about mom and dad's relationship. If anything, she detests mom for being the docile and innocent wife who never raised her voice at dad. She never questions dad's decisions whether right or wrong and always chooses to follow his lead. I squinted my brows, I was definitely doubtful and was definitely not trusting Piper for setting them up on a date.
Was she planning to blow mom up or something? Finally going to get revenge on mom for blindly following his decisions without questioning. I certainly hope not and I trust that even if my sister was up to something, it wouldn't be that extreme.
“At this rate, my specially cooked salmon will get cold!” She hissed leading us to the huge dining hall and to my surprise she had indeed cooked a delicious dinner.
“Avery, I specially made this for you and even went an extra mile in getting the Dom Perignon for you, your favorite,” she giggled as she uncorked the bottled wine without any hesitation. The minute I tasted that food, I knew at once that it was cooked by the maids but I didn't want to blow off her cover.
By the way, my likkle sister was just trying hard to impress her brother-in -law.
After Dinner, I started to feel really sleepy and my sister finally decided to play me some classical music in order to make me feel like a princess. I insisted on going upstairs in order to get some rest but she forbade me to do so.
“Sister, I am trying to make today a special day for everyone in the family, don't you dare try to make it hard for me okay?” she chattered on and on that I couldn't no longer grasp a hold of her words.
“Okay, I won't,” I promised.
“That's my sweet sister, if you don't mind, Kieran and I will go upstairs and go through the client's case okay?” Before I could even give her a response, I watched her retreating figure move up the stairs.
I relaxed in my seat, tired from all of today's stress and work. The moment I closed my puffy and tired eyes, I drifted into the land of the abyss.
~~~
My eyes flew open and I woke up startled. I could hear quiet and soft moans. Wait a minute, where the hell is that coming from? Perhaps I heard that wrong. No, I am sure of it, I heard it right with my wolfy senses. The sound led me upstairs and then I stopped right in front of Piper's room.
“Now c*m on my fingers my love,” I heard a deep and yet low growl which was unmistakably Kieran's. “What the hell,” I said as I bursted the door open.
