Chapter 8: Ella’s POV

1053 Words
Ella's POV I took a step back, and my back hit the wall. I was breathing harshly, but not from fear, but from the unusual feeling in the pit of my stomach. I never felt such an emotion before, and it frightened me. Was this a part of the mate bond? I gulped as he stood in front of me, his eyes glowing and his canines showing. "W-what? What are you doing?" "Fück!" He took a step back and left the bathroom. I blinked trying to grasp what just happened. My hands were shaking and I took a quick shower. I put the towel around my body and left the bathroom. Remo wasn't in the room and I breathed in relief. I couldn't face him right now until I calm my beating heart. I put my clothes on, but didn't know what to do so I sat on the bed. Few minutes later, there was a knock on the door. I jumped and stood on shaking legs. "Luna the king is waiting for you at the dinning table." A maid said. It was the first time that I will be leaving this room and I was afraid. I didn't know this place. With steady steps, I exited his room, followed by the maid. Thankfully she was with me, so she could guide me around this castle. The hallways were cold and lifeless. The walls are black and lacked any kind of life. I shivered when I saw a portrait, the only portrait visible on the walls. It showed three men, bare chest. Cuts littered them all over, and they were practically covered in blood. Except that their faces were hidden by the shadows. “Who are they?” I asked the maid, but instantly regretted it. Her face turned white and she backed off. “We should go. The alpha hates to wait.” She scurried away and I followed her. We arrived at the top of a long set of stairs and with quiet steps we walked down on them. It was like at any moment, a dead body’s soul will attack us. Guards were standing all around the hallways, but they were like statues. I followed her towards a set of double doors, and the guard opened it with ease. He bowed his head slightly when he saw me, and I hated it. I wasn’t accustomed to this kind of courtesy. I used to be the one bowing when I saw the alpha and Luna. They used to spit on me, and my mood instantly darkened at the thought of them. “What took you so long?” I jumped when I heard Remo’s voice. I looked towards him, and he was sitting at the top of the table. He wasn’t looking at me instead he looked at his plate. “I-I…” “Sit down.” I was both relieved and afraid when he cut me off. I went to sit as far away from him as possible, but he growled. “Here.” He snapped pointing at the seat next to him. Why was he so angry? I went to the seat next to him and sat down as quietly as possible. Minutes later, Remo’s beta and gamma entered the room. “Fücking finally. I was starving.” Christian mumbled sitting at the seat opposite to mine, while Maddox took the seat next to Christian. “Anna bring the food.” Maddox said slapping Christian on the back of his head. “Ow!” I giggled, and all three heads turned towards me. “S-sorry.” I stuttered looking down on my plate, afraid of the consequences of my giggle. “You have a beautiful laugh.” This time the heads snapped towards Remo, and Christian’s eyes went wide. At that exact moment, Anna, along with other maids, came in holding trays of food. They put them in front of us and my mouth watered. But I didn’t dare to take anything. Remo seemed to notice my reluctance, and none of the men ate anything yet. “Ella you don’t need to be afraid. Here.” Christian said standing up and filling my plate with pieces if steak. I looked at Remo, but his face was expressionless. His fists were balled and I averted my gaze, taking my fork and digging into my food enjoying the taste of it. “Give me updates.” Remo’s voice was cold, and I shivered. Christian sat straight, and the look in Maddox eyes turned sadistic. I knew this look well. It haunts me in my sleep, it was the look in Dean’s father’s eyes when he tortured me. Suddenly the room felt small, and I could barely breath. They were talking among themselves, but I couldn’t hear anything they were saying. My ears were ringing, and Dean’s eyes as he rejected me, were all I could see. “I-I want to go the the r-room.” I stuttered and stood up on wobbly legs, until I felt a touch on my hand, and sparks shot all over my body. “What happened?” Remo asked looking into my eyes. “N-nothing.” My eyes averted towards Maddox, but he was still listening to what Christian was saying. “Come with me.” He pulled me by my hand and we exited the dining room. Everything else disappeared, and all I could think about was his touch, and his smell. Suddenly we started hearing shouts and growls, and the entrance doors to the castle opened, and 5 guards entered holding a struggling man. He looked at us and I gasped standing behind Remo. “NO!” Remo growled pulling me next to him. “Your place in next to me, not behind me.” He said his eyes heating. “B-but-“ “No one will touch you when I am here do you hear me?” I nodded as we both turned around and looked at the unwanted guests. “What the fück are you doing here.” Dean couldn’t look Remo in the eyes, so he looked at me. “Don’t look at your queen.” I looked at Remo with wide eyes. “Queen? Her?” Dean laughed looking at me. “You’re dead.” Remo roared jumping on Dean.
