His Rejected Mate

Ella’s POV "Are you excited for today?" My best friend Ivy asked. "No." I replied washing my hand. "Come on it's your eighteenth birthday today. You will find your mate for sure." She wiggled her eyebrows. "Ella! The toilets need cleaning." Mrs Colleen said holding her stick. I flinched when I saw her and coward behind Ivy. My wounds were still fresh and bleeding. I don't need another beating. "G-going right away." I said taking the water bucket. "Mrs Colleen. It's Ella's birthday today." Ivy rolled her eyes. Ivy was the gamma's daughter. I don't know how she can be my friend, let alone best friend, but she was since we were five. She never listened to any pack member about hating me, or beating me. She always defended me, but she can never stand up against our alpha or beta. I'm used to my life by now. Ever since my father betrayed the pack, the alpha executed him, and my mom. They let me stay with them, but as an omega. "Ivy don't you have training right now?" Mrs Colleen scowled at her, and Ivy shook her head. "I am celebrating today with Ella." She growled and Mrs Colleen glared at her, but left us alone. "Ivy you don't have to stick with me today." I whispered. "Yes I do. Now come on, I prepared something for you." She said excitedly. It was hard to stay standing with the wounds in my back, but I can't sit down and rest, or there will be more beating. I nodded and followed her, ignoring the disgusted looks of the pack members. "Ivy what are you doing with this filthy girl?" The beta female scowled. "We are going to my room." She replied. "To clean it?" She asked smirking. "Yes." She replied instantly and pulled me with her. I sighed in relief when I entered Ivy's room. In the middle, on the table, was a small cake decorated, and written on it with bold letters, 'happy birthday Ella!'. I gasped and hugged Ivy. I hissed at the shooting pain in my back, but ignored it, because I needed Ivy's hug. "You okay?" She asked with a hint of worry in her voice. "Yes don't worry about me." I replied. "Let's eat the cake." She squealed and we both walked towards the table, as she took a knife and cut two pieces of the cake. After we both ate, Ivy insisted that she take a look on my wounds. She inhaled sharply when she saw them, and led me towards the bathroom. She treated my wounds with care, and I felt so much better. "Thank you Ivy. Without you I would have been long dead." I kissed her cheek. "I wish I can help you more Ella. But I can't defy the alpha. Especially since our new alpha is coming back today. He is worse than his father." She sighed. I started shaking and sat down on the bed. I wish I can find a mate that will take me away from here. But who will accept a broken omega? We heard commotion downstairs and we looked at each other with fearful eyes. "Alpha Dean is here." She said and I wanted to sob. He was more ruthless than his father. He will kill me for sure this time. I knew alpha Dean since I was a little girl. He hated girls, and rejected them all. He was older than me, by 5 years. He was 14 when he was sent away to prepare for his alpha title. He always looked at me with disgust, and he cornered me before leaving, threatening me. 9 years ago. "Dean is going away today." Ivy said. "For his alpha training?" I asked. "Yeah." She replied putting her doll on my bed. "This is yours now." She beamed at me. "If Mrs Colleen finds it, she will beat me badly." "She won't find it. I promise." She took it and put it behind a pot. "She usually never enters the basement, so it should be safe here." She replied confidently. "Okay." I replied in a small voice. "I need to go now. I will see you when I return later today." She hugged me and left the basement. Now that she's gone, I need to go back to work, or Mrs Colleen would be furious. At the age of nine, I have to clean rooms and the toilets. My parents were executed 4 years ago, leaving me alone in this cruel pack. I can't act like a little girl, or they would be furious. The alpha and Luna constantly reminded me of what my father did and beat me for it. Bruises were littered all over my body. I left the basement trembling, not ready to face another day in this hell, when booming footsteps made me halt. Dean, the future alpha came looking furious. I never talked to him, never looked in his eyes, and I don't know why he is here. He approached me and I took a step back,and was stopped by a wall. He was so close to me, his nose wrinkled in disgust. "I don't know why they keep you around." He faked gagged. "But once I am alpha, I will kill you." He smirked and put his finger on my cheek, making me flinch. "I d-din't do a-anything." I replied with a trembling lip. "You are the offspring of the man that betrayed us. That alone is a crime. Mark my words filthy girl, and wait for me. Start counting your living days." With that he turned around and left me in my tears. Present day. "I won't let him touch you, even if I have to challenge him." Ivy growled. "No Ivy. You will put yourself and your parents at risk." I replied shaking my head rapidly. "He won't touch you." She replied firmly. We both went downstairs, because I can't stay hidden my entire life. I had to face the alpha, and maybe he will kill me and put me out of my misery. Suddenly a smell of wood and mint hit my nose, and I took a big whiff of it. My wolf was giddy, jumping with excitement. But I wasn't having mutual feelings, when my eyes locked with alpha Dean's green eyes. He was a man now, with muscles and wide shoulders. He was tall, taller than everyone gathering here. His nose looked like it was broken several times, but that didn't make him any less handsome. He had a small stubble on his face. My heart stopped at the realization that Dean was my mate. He can't be! I hate him, and he hates me. He will hurt me more now. He approached me with calculated steps and took my elbow. Everyone gasped, but he didn't mind them. He pulled me with him upstairs. "Wait! Where are you taking her?" Ivy protested standing in front of me. "Step away." He growled. "No. You won't harm her." She dared challenge him, and I pleaded her with my eyes. "Step away!" This time he said in his alpha tone, and Ivy's wolf forced her to submit to the alpha. She was tense as she stepped aside, but touched my hand in reassurance. I smiled at her gratefully, but followed him nonetheless. He opened the alpha's office and threw me inside. I stumbled from the force of the shove, but regained my balance. My eyes were on the floor, not daring to look at him. His hands were clenching, but he didn't approach me. "Filthy girl." He called me with the nickname he gave me 9 years ago, that now all the pack members call me with. I was used to hear it from them, but hearing it from my mate hurts my chest. "I should have killed you then." He growled. "How can the moon goddess be stupid and pair me with you." My bottom lip trembled, but I bit on it to stop myself from crying. He doesn't deserve my tears. "Listen bïtch, you won't tell anyone that we are mates. You will be kept in the basement, I don't want to see you, not until I am officially the alpha. Understand?" He snarled and I nodded. "Yes." I whispered and I saw his body tense. "Leave now." He snapped and I hurried to get away from him, when he stopped me by holding my wrist, and applying force on it, bruising it for sure. "I will kill you if you say anything." I nodded once again, and left the office quickly running to the basement. I entered it and ran to the old mattress on the floor and laid on it, trying to calm my fast beating heart, when I heard the lock of the basement door. I was now locked inside of my hell, with no food or water. My tears fell from my eyes, and I let them. What will happen to me once he is officially the alpha?
