Chapter 10

Ella's POV People gasped when they saw me outside of the castle's gates. They stopped what they were doing and looked at me with a questioning gaze. I don't know if they know who I am. Colt nodded at me and we started walking towards the castle's gardens. The outside was unlike the inside, as it was full of life and colorful. Not dead and grey. People hurried towards me to say hi, but I was still anxious when I see a large number of people surrounding me. I repeated in my head that these people aren't here to hurt me, they are here with smiles on their faces and I tried to smile back at them. The feeling was overwhelming. I was used to the hateful stares of my old pack, but now all I see are the warm smiles. It was still hard for me. What will they think of me once they know how I am a powerless werewolf? How will they accept me, especially when their alpha is a Lycan? I can't stop thinking about the what ifs. I felt uneasy at their stares and tried to regulate my breath, I didn't want to show them that I am that weak. I felt mentally exhausted, but still managed to get by. This moment was interrupted, when a tall brunette lady approached me with disapproval on her face. "Rebecca!" Colt snarled, taking a protective stance in front of me. "Colt I won't hurt the luna." She rolled her eyes, approaching me. I fought hard to stay in my place and not move. "Stay back." He held her elbow, whispering something in her ear. Her face blanched but she recovered quickly. "It's fine Colt, I am sure she will not hurt me." I said, not as sure as my words were. "As you wish, Luna." Colt stepped aside and I was now facing Rebecca directly. "I felt like introducing myself. I am Rebecca, one of the pack's top warriors. I am at your service, Luna." She nodded and I nodded back, not knowing what to say. "It's nice to meet you Rebecca. Call me Ella." I was thankful that I didn't stutter. The air changed quickly, a surge of power rolled in my veins and I knew why. I looked behind me and found everyone kneeling, with their heads bent down. King Remo, Beta Christian, and third in command, Maddox were standing behind me. Rebecca and Colt knelt down too, and I stood there awkwardly not knowing what to do. Remo's eyes were terrifying. They were pitch black, and his face was emotionless. They were covered in sweat and blood and their faces marred with scowls. I was shivering on the inside. Will he hurt me while he is in this state? "I knew that there is a traitor among my pack. I assure you that I will know who it is. And when I do, I will detach each limp from his body." Remo said with venom rolling with each word he said. His voice was laced with his wolf's and I knew what that would mean; he was in his killing mode. I gulped as people said "long live the king". Remo started walking towards me, and I couldn't but take a step back. "Where are you going mate?" He snapped and I halted in my place. His eyes were alternating between the color grey and pitch black. "Remo." Maddox said in a low voice, halting Remo's movements, when he saw me shivering. "I am fine." Remo said, walking again towards me, this time his eyes only grey. "Come." He looked at me, and I knew that he was talking to me. "I did nothing w-wrong." I tried to argue, but he didn't budge. "I know." He sighed and walked in front of me, and took my elbow in his rough hand and pulled me with him inside. "P-please." I tried to take my elbow from his hand but he was adamant about it. We entered the room, and he pushed me on the door after locking it, burrowing his face in my neck and inhaling deeply. His hands were soft as they held my fragile body. He was breathing calmly now, looking in my face. He was still not showing any emotion, but I knew he was calm now. "Fǚck." He snapped, pulling back. "Why were you outside?" He asked. "I d-didn't know t-that I was not allowed to go o-outside." I replied. "You are. But you have to tell me first." He glared at me. "I went crazy when I knew that you weren't in your room, and that there is a traitor roaming between us. It is not safe Ella." "I am sorry." I started playing with my fingers, a habit I do when I am afraid, or nervous. Christian's POV "Restrict him." Maddox yelled. "I am trying motherfǚcker." I yelled, trying to stop Remo from killing the whole pack. We are used to Remo's episodes by now, but with the presence of Ella, his mat, we can't take a chance of him hurting her, even though we know it is not intentional. "Few minutes more." Maddox yelled, holding the rope tightly. Remo was tied to the chair and we tried to stop him from leaving the safe room. Maddox and I know that Ella is the only person who can stop these episodes, but she was still not prepared to see him like this. Remo growled and screamed loudly shaking the walls. He was on the verge of shifting, and if he shifted it would be worse. Maddox injected him with a small amount of wolfsbane. It would prevent him from shifting. A small amount of wolfsbane is enough to kill a normal werewolf, but for a Lycan it is harmless. Remo calmed a bit, his eyes turning from yellow to their natural grey. He looked at Maddox and I and nodded, informing us that he is well now. "Shít man, you almost kílled us this time." I mumbled, letting go of the rope. "Let's head to the dungeon." Remo said, standing up as if nothing had happened. I shook my head and we both followed him down to the dungeons, the thrill of kílling was high in my blood, as I smiled in satisfaction. "Finally some reward."
