Chapter 6

"Kuya, bakit wala na si Nanay Asun sa bahay? Nasaan s'ya?"

Nagtataka s'yang napatingin sa akin. What? You do not know?

"What?!"

"You really have no idea? Kuya, Nanay Asun is no longer in the house! I talked to the house maid and she's been a house maid for like 2 years and she doesn't know Nanay Asun!" Galit ako dahil ang taong nag-alaga sa amin ay wala na sa bahay and the person that ruined our life stayed!

Nanay Asun doesn't haveher own family for she spent her whole life being my mom's nanny and became our nanny as well. Kaya anong karapatan ng mga taong iyon na paalisin si Nanay Asun sa bahay na iyon?

"What the hell!"

"So hindi mo nga alam? Kuya bakit hindi mo alam? 2 years? Hindi ka na ba pumupunta sa bahay sa loob ng 2 years? Saan natin hahanapin si Nanay Asun? She doesn't have a family, kuya Rusty!"

My heart is aching while thinking what would be the possible life Nanay Asun has these days. She's probably having a hard time cupping up the life outside. Galit ang gumuhit sa mga mata ng kapatid ko at walang salita s'yang lumabas ng opisina kaya agad akong napatayo at sumunod sa kaniya. He's mad.

Nang makita ko s'ya ay humabol ako sa kaniya at nakita ko s'yang papunta sa pinto na may nakalagay na Chairman's office. So he's going to confront dad about that. Tuloy-tuloy ang pag pasok n'ya sa loob pero nang ako na ang akmang hahawak sa door knob ay bigla naman humarang sa akin ang isang babae.

"What is it this time?!" Inis kong sabi kaya napa-atras ito ng bahagya dahil sa medyo pagtaas ng tono ko.

"Ma'am, pasensya na po pero may appointment po ba kayo sa chairman?"

I shut my eyes close to control myself not to punch this woman on her face. Damn this red lips woman who looks like s w***e asking the obvious?

"Are you blind?" Madiin kong sambit. "Haven't you seen that I was with Rusty? I was with your boss so please get the hell out of my sight before I make you."

Wala na bang magandang mangyari sa araw na ito? Hindi ko pa nasisimulan ang araw ko, sira na? What the hell!

"Pasensya na po ma'am pero wala po kasing sinabi si Sir Rusty na pwede kayong pumasok. Mr. Chairman doesn't allowed people that doesn't have an appointment inside his office ma'am. If you want, I'll -----"

Hindi ko na s'ya hinayaan pang tapusin ang sinasabi n'ya at sala itinulak ko s'ya tabi para mapihit ko ang door knob at makapasok.

"How dare you kick Nanay Asun out from the house, dad!"

Iyon agad ang bumungad sa akin, galit na boses ng kapatid ko. Napatingin silang pareho sa gawi ko kaya nanlaki ang mga mata ni Tanda. "What?" walang emosyon kong saad.

"Sir, I am sorry, sinubukan ko po s'yang pigilan pero nagpupumilit po kasi s'ya." saad pa ng babae sa likuran ko.

"It's okay, you can leave now," seryosong sambit ni kuya. Narinig ko ang pagsara ng pinto. Seryoso akong naglakad papalapit sa nakatayo kong kapatid.

"Are you not going to answer kuya's question? He's waiting, I am waiting."

"What are you doing here?" Kunot-noo nitong tanong sa akin.

"I am here to ask you the same question. Where is Nanay Asun and who told you that you can kick her out?!"

"Matanda na si Asun, hindi na n'ya kayang gumawa sa mga gawaing bahay and that is why I gave her her retirement fee."

Napa-hampas ako sa mesa n'ya sa inis ko sa naging sagot n'ya. Ang kapal ng mukha n'ya para sabihin iyon.

"Force retirement?! How dare you! If I know, ang kabit mo ang dahilan kung bakit wala na si Nanay Asun sa bahay, ano ba ang karapatan ng hampaslupa na iyon sa bahay ---"

"I told you to never call my wife a name!" Sigaw nito sa akin.

"And I told you that Stella is not your wife and will never be your wife!" Sagot naman ni Kuya. "Amor is right, walang kahit na anong kaparatan mayroon ang babae na iyon. Now tell me, saan ninyo dinala si Nanay Asun?"

"Ano pa ba ang magagawa ni Asun sa bahay?"

"Sleep! Kung ang pagtulog at pagkain na lang ang kayang gawin ni Nanay Asun ay wala akong pakialam! She should still be staying at home! You are not the one who brought her at home it was mom, and besides, Nanay Asun wasn't there for you and for you w***e of a mistress! She was there for me, for mom, for kuya and for the house!"

"And let me hear one last time that you threaten Amor just because of that woman and I will forget you my father. Never forget that I am capable of doing that. You won't like it when I am provoked, Mr. Eugenio," seryoso at matigas na sambit ni Kuya.

The old man smirked like he was having a good time exchanging words with me and Kuya Rusty.

"I didn't came here to talk about your mistress. I am here to know where the hell did you bring Nanay Asun." Matigas kong sambit kaya bumaling sa akin ang kaniyang atensyon.

"I am not giving you permission to bring Asun back into the house. I have already given her the retirement fee and so, she doesn't have any business with us anymore."

"Nanay Asun is more like a family to me than you are. I hope that would make sense." I replied seriously.

"Asun and I already have an agreement that she is not going to get her feet step back inside. So don't try it, because she have no longer place in the house. You are maybe right, she wasn't there for me and for Stella and the reason she was there for are no longer living there and so, I just did the right choice for her."

"I am back and I need her," diretso kong sagot sa kaniya. "That house is mine, that belongs to me and you won't like it of i'll count what is mine and what is yours. So if I ask you where is Nanay Asun, you tell me."

Naramdaman ko ang paghawak ni Kuya sa likuran ko at kitang-kita ko naman kung paano mas nanlisik ang mga mata ni Tanda habang nakatingin sa akin.

"Are you threatening me?''

"Are you threatened?"

"You ungrateful-----"

"Because there is nothing you do that I should be grateful for!" Pagpautol ko sa sasabihin n'ya. Hindi pa s'ya tapos sa pagsabi sa akin ng ganyan?

"Just tell us kung nasaan si Nanay Asun, dad. We'll have the peace in life," saad naman ni Kuya.

"so kuya doesn't know that Nanay Asun is no longer at home. You have kept it by yourself? With your mistress? How f*cking ironic!"

"I am giving you an information about Asun. I told you, she is not allowed to be there at home." Walang gana nitong sabi at at saka bumlaik sa pag-upo sa kaniyang swivel chair.

"Sure," I responded. "I will look for Nanay Asun myself and when I find her, you will say goodbye to the house, to the board and to that chair."

Nanlaki ang mga mata n'yang napatingin sa akin at maging si Kuya ay ramdam kong napatingin sa akin. What? They're both surprised. Ngitian kong silang pareho.

"You can't do that." Matigas na sambit ni daddy.

"You are not so sure, Mr. Chairman. Hindi mo sasabihin sa akin kung nasaan si Nanay Asun hindi ba? So, I don't think I should still be staying in this place. Kuya, I have to go. I will start finding Nanay Asun and bring her back home."

"Don't you dare turn your back at me, Amorie!" Sigaw ni daddy at halata sa tono n'ya ang galit pero hindi na ako nag-abala pa na lumingon. Tuloy-tuloy ang paglabas ko sa kaniyang opisina at tumingin pa sa akin ng malditang tingin ang secretary ni Tanda.

"Don't look at me like that if you don't want me make you real blind." Napanganga ang huli nang sabihan ko s'ya noon pero hindi ko na s'ya hinayaan pa na makasagot sa akin. Dire-diretso akong naglakad palayo.

"Amor!"

Huminto ako sa paglalakad nang marinig ko ang boses ni Kuya Rusty na sumunod sa akin. Lumingon ako upang tingnan ang kapatid ko. "What?" I asked him.

"Saan ka pupunta?"

"I am going to find Nanay Asun and I will bring her back at home by hook or by crook. Ikaw, saan ka pupunta?" I asked him back raising my brows.

"I'm sorry," he said.

"Sorry for what?'

"Sorry because I wasn't able to able to protect Nanay Asun. I left at home without thinking that she might get kicked out. Hindi na rin ako bumabalik doon noong wala ak because I don't find any sense of going back there without you. I'm sorry."

Tumango ako dahil hindi naman n'ya kasalanan kung bakit umalis si Nanay Asun. It was dad's and his miistress fault.

"Don't be sorry, hindi mo naman kasalanan ang lahat. But please help me bring Nanay Asun back home kuya. Wala s'yang pamilya, walang mag-aalaga sa kaniya," paki-usap ko sa kaniya.

Nakangiting tumango si Kuya, "of course! I will be so sorry to Nanay Asun that I didn't bother to check on her. We'll bring her back home, that's her home. And by the way, are you serious about--"

"About what I said to dad? Half yes, half no. You know how much I despise working. I am good having much of a penny in my pocket without working. I am happy for people works for me and filled up my pocket with millions."

"Dad doesn't know." Kumunot ang noo ko sa sinabi n'ya.

"About what?"

"That you made the other board members sold their shares to you. I kept it and made sure he won't know."

Nanlaki ang mga mata ko sa sinabi n'ya. Alam ni Kuya? Sh*t! That was supposed to be a secret.

"H-how?"

"How did I know? Of course I would know. I have my 100% attention to the company to make sure that EU Corp will stay at it's place. You secretly bought their shares and dad doesn't about that. You even use Harlin hah."

Napangiwi ako dahil alam pala ni Kuya ang ginawa ko na iyon. Balak ko pa naman sana s'yang gulatin tungkol sa ginawa kong iyon.

"I want to stay unknown kuya. Mas mabilis kumilos na hindi alam ng board na ako ang nakabili ng mga shares nila that is why I asked Harlin to do it for me. And besides, I am not interested with the business, I just want to make sure that the company won't fall to Stella's hands," seryosong sabi ko.

"Don't worry, I won't let that happen. Never in their lifetime. Pinaghirapan ni mommy ang kumpanyang ito, Stella would never half a place in here, I promise you that." I nodded.

"Sorry if I came here without telling you, kailangan ko lang talagang malaman kung ano ang nangyari at kung bakit wala si nanay Asun sa bahay. I thought something bad happened and I was right."

"We'll bring her back home."

"Rachel? That's Rachel, she's the one helped me get inside because you are a freak of a boss who implement a rule." Turo ko sa isang babae na nakatayo habang may bitbit na hand bag.

"Of course I know her. Rachel..." At talagang tinawag n'ya pa. Lumingon naman agad ang babae at saka malawak ang ngiting naglakad palapit sa amin.

"Hi, Amor." Bati nito sa akin.

Tumango ako pero naningkit ang mga mata ko nang makita ko ang pagpulupot ng braso ni Kuya sa likuran n'ya. Hold on, she's not his secretary. Does this mean...

"Are you two dating?" Walang preno kong saad na ikinatawa nilang dalawa.

"We're actually engaged." Sabat naman ng kapatid ko na nagpangiwi sa akiin.

"Yuck!" I responded that made the two of them burst into laughter. Agad na nag-isang linya ang mga labi ko nang sumagot pa si Kuya sa sinabi ko.

"Hindi ka naman, I mean never ka naman na broken hearted pero bakit kaya ang bitter mo."

"Shut up! I'm leaving in here!"

"You're going out, Amor?" Napalingon ako kay Rachel nang marinig ko ang tanong n'ya. I nodded. "I'll walk with you out, palabas na rin naman na ako."

"Why don't you both wait for me?"

"Nagugutom na ako dahil hindi ako kumain sa bahay bago ako umalis. Hindi na ako makakapaghintya pa sa 'yo kuya," seryoso kong sabi.

"Mauna na kayong bumaba, I'll just get my phone in my office."

Hindi pa man kami naka-react ay nawala ay umalis na agad s'ya sa tabi namin ng girlfriend n'ya kaya naiwan kaming dalawa.

"So, you're planning to work in here?" Nakangiting tanong ni Rachel.

I shook my head, "no, I have no plans of working in here."
