chapter seven: luna queen

Nobody spoke as they wanted for one of them to say something, do something. Sophia looked over at Theodore who had a small -tiny, actually- smile on his face. Getting up from her seat, even though Demetri told her to stay put, she walked over and stood next to her mate. Theodore glanced her way and tried to grab her hand but remembered how she flinched away last night, so he turned his attention to the newly-mates. "How about you two go and talk things out?" This may have sounded like a question but it really wasn't. It was an order. Artemis nodded and looked over at her mate who was still looking at her wide-eyed. He felt so many emotions. Anger, confusion and surprisingly love. "Marcus, go with her" The King looked beside him to see that Sophia had stepped forward and was actually ordering her brother. No one spoke in the kitchen. Every wolf watched in amazement and curiosity the girl that's supposed to be their guest order Artemis' mate. The wolves (not the warriors) were amazed when the noticed that even Artemis was infected by her words. She took Marcus' hand and pulled him out of the kitchen. Sophie looked over at Theodore who had a look of adoration on his face. To say that he was also surprised, would be understanding. His mate, who was shy and never ordered or screamed at anyone, just ordered her brother. "Alpha, are you going to let her order everyone around?" A wolf stood up from his chair and glared at Sophia. Sophia was taken aback by the action and Demetri was quick to get up and push her behind him and his brother. Theodore took a threatening step forward when every other wolf -expect the warriors he had informed about Sophia being his mate- agreed with him. He now stood in front of the wolf that spoke. He was a lot shorter than the King. His face would only reach his chest. His hair and eyes were brown and he had muscle but no one reached the King. "You" he pointed at him with his index finger "will treat my mate with respect as she is your Luna and Queen" Sophia looked uncomfortable as every eye fell on her. The girls her age and older were judging her with their eyes and some even pointed at her. Some glared at her with hatred while others nodded with respect and smiled at her. Most of the warrior did the last one along with the older people. "Sh-she's our Luna?" Demetri laughed slightly as the guys seemed ready to pee his pants. He was so scared his body was shaking. Theodore nodded, not saying anything else as he walked over to his mate and grabbed her hand pulling her away from the kitchen, not before whispering something to his brother. "Where are we going?" Sophie asked after they were far away from the room. He had taken her far away from the Royal Hall. He took left and right turns and suddenly, she felt lost inside the castle. Her brother was also somewhere around here and she needed to find him too. The hallways were getting darker by the minute as every window they passed was closed and had a curtain block the sun. Surprisingly, she didn't feel afraid in the dark this time. For some reason, he didn't want the sun to get inside that hallway and she wanted so badly to find out. Curiosity killed the cat. She thought about the quote her brother used to tell her when she was ten. She always seemed to asked questions and she knew that at some point Marcus had gotten tired of her questions but she still asked them. "Somewhere where my pack members aren't allowed to go. I need to have a word with you" he answered her question even though she asked like ten minutes ago. Sophia looked around in surprise. Pack members weren't allowed in there but the hallway was really clean. The King, suddenly, stopped and opened a door that led to a darker room. Inside the room were a bed, a closet and a vase with some flowers. Theodore let go of her hand and nodded at the bed. Sophia cautiously walked towards the bed. It was dark but you could still make out the outline of it. Her gasp of surprise filled the room and she immediately turned over to him to see him, looking down at the girl on the bed. She was at least in her early twenties. Her hair was jet black and her eyes were closed. Her arms were crossed on her body and she wore a beautiful dark blue dress that hugged her curves perfectly. Who was she? Why did he bring her there? Was she his first mate and she was his second-chance one... Did he still love her? Those questions filled her head and she looked at his eyes, hers filled with tears. Why was she feeling like this? She hated him just yesterday and now she is crying over the fact that he had another mate... It's just the mate bond. She repeated that sentence like a mantra in her head. She wanted to believe that but was it true? Theodore brought her out of her thoughts when he started speaking, his eyes glossy. He ran a hand through his golden locks. "She is a Queen. My brother's Queen, not Demetri's but Caius'." he walked closer to her and she didn't step backwards. "She is a vampire that's why the curtains are blocking the sun to come in. She was brought here two weeks ago. Caius wants my pack doctors to see if they can find a way to bring her out of the coma she was put by a vampire hunter as a King cannot rule without a Queen. They tried to take him down by killing hos Queen by they didn't achieve". Sophia took a deep breath and watched as a tear rolled down his cheek. He did have emotions. "My doctors informed me that they couldn't find a way to wake her up yesterday after I left you to talk with your brother". "So, she's gonna stay like that forever?" she asked, taking hold of his hand. Theodore looked over at her and shook his head. The girl on the bed meant a lot to his brother and he couldn't bear the thought of him wailing and destroying everything in his way because he knew. He knew that the first thing he'd destroy was his Kingdom and his mate and he couldn't let that happen. "No, we're going to find a way to wake her up even if it's the last thing we do."
