Marcus walked out of the kitchen with King Theodore hot in his trail. He was very surprised that the King had asked to speak with him, privately.
Theodore pushed past him and into the room across the kitchen. A guest room, he guessed. The room was a lot simpler than his. His room was gigantic compared to that. His chambers, of course, were smaller than the King's and the Queen's but he never lived in luxury so, it was all too much.
A small walk-in closet and a small bathroom were inside but decorated with diamonds and gold. His bed was Prince-sized, at least he thought so. The royals definitely had bigger beds. A red carpet decorated the black wooden floor and red curtains didn't let the sun pick inside his room. The bed and walls were grey-coloured and the bedsides were silver.
This room though was a lot simpler. Like a lot a lot. A normal-sized bed was placed in the middle and its colour was light blue. The room had some silver curtains that protected it from the sun and its walls were painted light blue. The black wooden floor was bare and a simple black wooden closet was placed opposite the bed. A small silver door - that probably led to the bathroom - gave away that whatever was inside wasn't King or Queen worthy.
"Whose room is this?" Marcus asked before he could stop himself. His eyes widen as his hand flew up and covered his wide-open mouth. How could he talk to a Royal like that... He was dirt on the ground compared to him. But Theodore didn't say anything as he stood by the window and watched his young pack members run and have fun in the playground at the back of the castle. Perfect place to play for children with no sun.
"You already know your sister is my mate, my Luna, my Queen" Marcus nodded, rolling his eyes as the King ignored his question. He didn't need more trouble than he already had, so he kept his mouth shut. Theodore didn't look at him as he spoke. "You probably already know that I want to keep her here and rule my Kingdom with me, right?"
"Yes, my Lord" he huffed at his choice of words and nearly gagged too. He didn't like it. He didn't like being formal as he spent his whole life running around woods and mountains. "And I already know that you think I am a threat and that I will kill her or hurt her" Theodore continued talking, turning his body to face his mate's brother.
Before Marcus could utter a word, the King told him. "But I am not the threat here. Vampires are, my stepbrother is". Marcus looked up at the King and was ready to cast a spell to make him reveal the truth and check if he was actually saying truthful facts but the next words silenced him."
"Vampires were found running around the castle. Especially the parts were your and your sister's scents are more powerful. I think - no, I know that Caius is behind this and I need your help to make sure he doesn't lay a finger on my mate"
"Why should I help you? I can easily take Sophia and get the hell out of here, why should I believe you?" Marcus' face turned red as he screamed at his King who didn't seem phased by his screams and simply smirked.
"I know you've been running from witches and warlocks all your lives and I can provide you with better safety and security here. I can also get you to his castle without you getting caught running around and ending up dead" He was right and the Grace boy knew that but did he want to admit it? Did he want to give in to his King's pleads and commands?
"Fine," he coughed into his fist, "But know this, I am only doing this for Sophie and Sophie only". Theodore stood up from the chair he sat down seconds ago and smirked again. This time, not so evilly.
"That's all I need... Meet me here tomorrow so we can arrange when we will visit Caius and keep this between us. Not a word to Sophia" Marcus nodded and together, the duo walked out of the room and into the hallway.
"This was my nanny's room" The brunette stopped walking and turned around to meet the blonde's blue eyes.
"What?" he choked, looking behind him at the door that led to the kitchen where his sister was.
"This was my nanny's room but she passed away. That's what you questioned earlier, right?" Walking towards the kitchen door, Theodore took a deep breath and put on a poker face, like always. Marcus was at a loss of words as he tried to catch up with the King but didn't give them more attention as when he walked inside he noticed a red-headed girl next to his sister.
He approached them and she didn't break eye contact as her eyes turned amber. They stood face to face and he swallowed thickly.
She took a deep breath and tilted her head to the right as he stood completely still. "Don't say anything" he heard someone say but didn't give a dam as the beauty in front of him spoke.
Her words made his eyes widen even more as his suspicions were correct. That girl in front of him was his mate. His werewolf mate.
