“ Do you trust him? Your beta?”
His question made me furrow my brows at him, sending me into a deep contemplation why he would ask me such a question.
Do I trust Caspian? I asked myself that question.
“ He never gave me a reason to not trust him.” I answered honestly.
“ He loves you.” Norman stated, looking me in the eye.
“He knows I don't share the same feelings.” I replied.
Norman chuckled.
“ Feelings and emotions can turn the most holy person into a monster. Come, I heard that Blackwood Pack has the most beautiful lagoon which is also a hot spring. We can spend the night admiring the beautiful scenery if you don't mind.” Norman proposed.
“ Actually, I mind.”
“ You do?” He asked, a puzzled look on his face.
I nodded. “ I thought I was beautiful enough for you to admire throughout the night.” I said, winking at him.
The next moment, I regretted uttering those words carelessly.
Norman pulled me to himself, my body smashing against his before he claimed my lips.
The kiss was ferocious and demanding as he thrust his tongue inside my mouth, tasting and caressing every part of my mouth.
I moaned into the kiss, my earlier attempt to push him away all gone and replaced by the desire to feel him more.
After taking his sweet time invading my mouth, Norman finally pulled away.
I was a panting mess as I tried to understand why I didn't feel disgusted by his touch. On the contrary, I liked it so much that I wanted more. My wolf kept purring, indicating that she loved what just happened as much as I did.
‘ He is not our mate, melody.’ I reminded her politely.
With her excitement, she ought to get disappointed if she raises her hopes up.
This man is the lycan king for crying out loud. There's no way he will be interested in someone like us?
‘ Who cares, I like him and I want him.’ Melody declared possessively making me roll my eyes at her.
“ What? Didn't you like it?” Norman's displeased voice pulled me away from my little banter with my wolf.
Meeting his burning gaze, I looked away immediately.
Why did that angry look make me wet down there instead of scaring me?
I pressed my legs together afraid that the scent of my arousal would waft into his nose but when I heard him chuckle, I knew mh attempt was unsuccessful.
“ Are you wet for me, kitten?” He whispered into my ears, making me shudder.
“ I don't know what you are talking about.” I said as I walked away. I could swear my face was beet red from embarrassment.
Damn! How could I get aroused by a simple kiss?
I heard Norman's deep rumble from behind me.
After catching up with me, he did not make any other attempt to tease me.
Reaching the lagoon, Norman proposed we spend the night there and I readily agreed.
I don't know why I was so trusting towards him considering that it was the first time we met. I have always been a careful person, life taught me that lesson the hard way but that's a story for another day.
The following morning, I was woken up with a tap on my cheeks. Opening my eyes, I was greeted by the beautiful scenery of the sun rising. Its orange rays reflected on the lagoon creating a beautiful hue of colours.
“ The morning looks even more beautiful with you by my side.” A deep magnetic voice sounded, making me look beside me.
Norman was staring back at me, a beautiful smile on his face.
I managed to return a smile.
“ We should head back. They will be looking for you now.” He said, helping me up.
“ Looking for me?” I chuckled. “ I am afraid no one even recognized my absence.” I replied.
With Caspian gone, no one would care about my absence or presence.
It's not like I'm that popular anyway.
Norman remained quiet throughout the journey back to the packhouse.
The silence however was not awkward. If anything, I found it refreshing.
Thinking back to the last conversation I had with Caspian, I put it in mind to call him immediately I lay my hands on my phone.
“ You can head to your room, I'll find my way from here.” I said, halting in my steps.
“‘Are you sure you don't want me to accompany you to your room? I don't mind.” He insisted but I shook my head.
I didn't want people seeing me with him and spreading God knows what rumours.
“ No need, thanks for last night.” I refused his offer politely.
“It was fun knowing you, I'm Norman Price.” He said, extending his hand for a handshake.
Smiling, I took his hand. “ Raven Rivera, your highness.”
“ See you soon.” With that, he turned around and disappeared in the hallway.
Looking at his back, all I could see was a lonely soul, he was nothing compared to the person I hear in the rumours circulating about him.
Turning around, I walked to the direction of my room only to halt in my steps after seeing people gathered outside the door of my room.
“ What's happening here?” I asked no one in particular.
“ That's her. She is the one who impersonated Alpha Rivera and killed our Luna.” Someone shouted, making me freeze.
