I stood there for a while, letting what just transpired settle in. Mr. Brian, who was the CEO's step brother..probably holds a grudge and wants to use me to repay it? Hell, I know I didn't sign up for the marriage too, but that was way better than being in some family feud.
I walked to the door and opened it, just as Carl came up.
"Why didn't you open the door?"
I stood, my heart beating wildly. I turned, looking at the bathroom door, before his voice brought me back.
"Let them fix you now and come back down."
I nodded, making my hair fall more out of place.
He only spared me a small glance and walked away, and I could hear the sound of his shoes clinking on the stairs.
I moved away from the door as the makeup crew let themselves in, ready to touch up my makeup again.
