chapter 3

Three months passed already, and I already gained friends too. They were twins, Andrea and Andrew, and they were also my roommates. I had made more friends but not as close as the two. I was still a reserved person like before and I knew that it will never change. These past few months, I learned more things that I needed to. I already shifted a few months ago. My wolf has all-white fur, it looked like snowflakes. I love her color. And I became much stronger physically, in human form or wolf form. Of course, with the help of the training, they gave to us. They said that there were a few like me, who shifted earlier and it was very rare. We were much stronger than a normal werewolf that will gain everyone's attention. That was also the reason why we went to the gym because they called us to assemble, especially my presence. It was our time for training, but we couldn't oppose them. Particularly, it was the Elders' order. They knew what was happening here because they were the owner of this institution. If they were calling for me, I am willing to follow without making any violence. Also, I think it was all about my early shifting, they might know that it already. They also said that I was fit to be a warrior and I will be a great one if I train with the best. I believed them. I, myself knew, that I wanted to be one---who protects my kind. I easily learned how to control my wolf when I was in my wolf form, especially when I got mad. This is another unusual thing I'd done. "Jess, let's go. We are summoned." Drew, also known as Andrew, whispered at me then pointed another building inside the compound. I nodded my head. He walked first and I just followed after him. I was wondering why they asked for me to go to another place and not there where many werewolves waiting for them. They only called me and the others were told to return to what they were doing earlier. I heard some of them complain that they were sad that they missed the opportunity to meet at least one of the elders. I was nervous, but I was not afraid. I was excited. My wolf, she was also happy and I didn't know why we felt that way. That was so strange that she was jumping inside my head. "Ash, please stop doing that. It makes me dizzy." I snapped at Ash, my wolf's name. Thankfully, she listened without any comment. I did not notice that we were in front of the Grand Hall until I bumped on Drew's back; I said my sorry. Grand Hall is where most of the important events have been conducted. It is a big and very spacious hall and can fill up hundreds of people. Drew knocked on the door. Here we go again; my wolf started jumping like a kid inside my head. She really couldn't hide her excitement. "Come in." The voice inside the closed-door said. I knew that it was the head of the institution. I'd meet him many times before because he was always monitoring my performance. My strength was not like the others, that was why I was always on their watch. So here it goes, and I was nervous. It was time to meet the Elders. Drew opened the door for us. There were twelve people inside: seven who were wearing cloak so I didn't see their faces, the head and her right hand, the standing president of the people inside the institution and its vice, and also Drew twin sister, Andrea or Drea. I sniffed the air, one of the Elders who wore a cloak gave my inner wolf joy. I'm connected to him, not a mate, but a family. I didn't know who my real family was, but my wolf knew their scents. Maybe it was the instinct. I closed my eyes and followed the scent until I stopped in front of an unknown person. When I opened my eyes, I was shocked I was in front of one of the Elders. The other Elders wanted to approach me but the Elders in front of me signaled them to stop. I knew it was a man. "So, you already know me." The Elder said to me in his intimidating voice. "Who are you? Your smell...” I paused and sniffed him again. “You smell like someone I knew before... I know we haven't met before... Why...why... My wolf... Like it knows you. Please..." I was shuttering because of nervousness and the overwhelming feeling I felt. "Who do you think I am to you, my child?" He moved even closer to me so I could smell him. "I know now why you shifted so early." He paused for a while and spoke again. "So, who am I?" I sniffed him again. The color of my eyes changed, it's my wolf. "You're not my father. But you're a family." I did it again but more deeply, getting his scent more. "You're my uncle," I said with full of confidence. I knew he smiled even the cloak still covering his face. All of them gasped when I said those words. He slowly took off his cloak. Oh my God! I was so shocked. It was like I was looking in the mirror. "This is the first time I let people see my face; only for you, my child." There was a smile on his lips when he spoke. Even the Elders were surprised by the revelation. "Yes, I'm your uncle. The reason why we are look-alike because I'm your mother's twin brother. Your mother should be in my place right now. But," I saw the sadness in his eyes. "She died when she gave birth to you, and I'm thankful now that I see you again.'' Then he hugged me, but I knew inside his hiding something. When he hugged me, I felt like I was already home. I didn't hear any words from everyone. I couldn't help myself not to cry. Because of sadness for my mother's death and happiness because I still have a family. He loosened his hug and touched my shoulder. He looked at me, longingly. He touched me on my face as a loving father does to his child that he misses for so long and then hugged me again. He liked a mad man that didn't know what to do in front of his child. "I'm sorry I wasn't able to protect you and your mother. But I order my people to find you. I searched everywhere.' I cried so hard. He gave me a fatherly hug. When I calmed down, I gave a little space between us. He went back to his place "Now that you're a family, I'll take you with me." He looked at my friends. "And I know you don't want your friends to be left behind so we'll also take them and no worries because they are powerful enough to join you." Then he paused. "Sorry, my child. I couldn't give back the title of being an Elder to you." He looked so sad. "I never knew that you were still alive." "It's fine uncle. I just wanted to become stronger so I can defend those who are weak." I said to him and he nodded his head while the other Elders stayed quiet. "Like an Alpha, ha? I can give you if that's what you want." He looked to one of the elders. "Elder Crain, allow them to join the organization. Train her with your best." Elder Crain nodded his head. Then my Uncle looked back at me. "He will train you to be strong. So you can protect our people and the other supernatural creatures. Be a member of The Organization which is a different kind of creature helps each other. But there's one goal, to protect us all." He walked near me again and hugs me. "Welcome back, my child." He whispered.
