"Stupid, mutt!" Someone screamed and pushed me on the floor while I was busy wiping the floor. I just got home and did my chores in the pack house. That was my everyday duty, and also to serve those greater than me. I became their slave for a long time already. I lived in a pack house since my parents left me. No one liked me in here and I was constantly bullied. I couldn't do anything with it because I am a nobody and on the lowest rank. "Jessica! What are you doing?" The Luna screamed and pulled my hair that made me groan. "You worthless s**t!" She madly screamed at me. I didn't know what I did to make her that mad at me. But she was always like that, screaming and hurting me. She didn't care if someone saw or heard her. I heard the laughter of other pack members in the background. No one helped me, even I was on the brink of death. I didn't make a sound because I know that she will do more if she heard me. It happened a long time ago, and I broke my limbs at that time. A few minutes later, with a lot of bruises, she stopped assaulting me. She sighed like she got tired and walked away living me there. I was on the floor, blood flowing from my head and all my broken bones that sliced my skin. My old wounds opened again, and I couldn't walk. I was so tired of my life. I wanted to end this if it's not for one thing that stops me. I pushed myself to stand up and I went to my room, leaving drops of blood on the floor. I planned on cleaning it later, but I didn't expect what will be going to happen until someone pushed me on the floor... again. "You fool. Looked at what you did on the floor! You made my shoes dirty!" A mad voice of Luis, one of my bully, ringed on my ears. Then curse words flew out from his mouth like a river. I couldn't comprehend what he's saying because I was losing my consciousness. I don't care anymore. Then everything got dark. I groaned, feeling my body ache. I was used to it. I opened my eyes. I was still lying on the floor in the hallway. I can say that it was already midnight based on what I saw outside the window. I remembered that I have to meet my special someone. Even with an aching body, I forced myself to move. I took a bath and changed my clothes, forgetting my aching body because of excitement. After, I slowly sneaked out going to the part of the forest where we always met up. When I got there, I was so happy and hugged him. All the ache on my body vanished as nothing happened. We talked and laughed. I was so happy being with him. He made my day. The moon lighted up the whole forest. It was so beautiful... but I never thought that beauty will be gone. "When are you going to tell them, Cris? We secretly seeing each other for two months now and… and I'm already tired of hiding." I said as I was looking at him. Two months ago, I knew that he is my mate. I'm only 16 years old, but I already knew my mate which was very unusual. I didn't know why and it was supposed to be on my 18th birthday, but I just did. But he's 18 already, and that's what I thought the reason why. But I couldn't help myself but wonder about it from time to time. I didn't know who my real parents are. So, I have no one to ask about those things. They told me, my adopted parents, that they just saw me in the forest. I was crying, laying down under the shade of a big tree. Not far away, they saw another body, the dead body of a woman and they believed that was my mother. "Ah…I-i just want to be alone with you for the meantime, just you and I. Because if they know, we- I, I will be busy." He reasoned out. He was stammering while reasoning to me, and I knew that was not true. I already knew he's my mate but I couldn't shift yet. I'll be turning 17 next month, and maybe that was another reason why his hesitant. "But..." I stopped talking because someone cut me off from what I suppose to say. "So, this is where you’re busy at? You want her over me, baby?" Trina said, Cris Brook's well-known girlfriend. He is my mate but he still has a girlfriend, what a complicated situation. "W-what... No!” He exclaimed. “It's just…" Cris didn't know what to say, and his nervous based on his tone. "And you?" She turned her gaze on me. "What are you to him? Don't tell me your Cris mate?" She said with her sarcastic tone and then she looked back at Cris. "So Cris, is she your mate?" "N-no... No!" With those two letters word came from his mouth, broke my heart. Now, I fully understood why he didn't want to tell everyone about us. Because he is ashamed of being with me, being his mate. I looked at him, and I saw nothing in his eyes. "So, b***h…" Trina said and she pulled my hair that made me groan because of the pain. "Leave!" She said to me then she slapped me. I looked at him asking for his help, but I didn't see any emotions even a little pity in his eyes. It looked like he never cares even someone hurt me in front of him. I was hurt and afraid, especially when his friends came too. "Oh!” They screamed full of excitement as they saw me. “Jessica is just here guys." One of them said, also the person who always beat me. Just beating, that was why I was still thankful to God and they haven't tried to rape me. But I think not too long because I saw lust in their eyes as they looked at me. "You look beautiful today, slave. Can I have a piece of you?" He said with a smirk on his face as he walked near me. I walked backward. I became anxious. One last time, I looked at Cris for help and his facial expressions never changed. That was where my tears started to fall. It's hurt, not only physically but also emotionally. Like my heart crushed into pieces. "Let's go. Let's get out of this hell. I don't want him anymore for us." I was surprised that someone talked inside my head. Until I realized that it’s my wolf. It was the first time my wolf talked to me. But I still wanted to give Cris another chance. "Cris?" I called his name for help but it hurt me more when he said his answer. "Do whatever you want. I don't care." He said without remorse, and then my tears fell from my eyes, and my cry vibrated in the woods. Even my vision was blurry but still saw how Luis smirked mischievously. He was the one who talked earlier. He pinned me to the trunk of a tree. His other friends didn't do anything and just watched us, and they were also wearing the same smirk on their faces. While Cris stood still and didn't show any emotions. I didn't know what to do, I panicked. I was in the lowest rank of the pack because my adopted parents were also an omega that made me one. "Let me take over. We need to survive." My wolf said. "Okay,” and as I responded, she took over. She pushed Luis with all her strength that made him fly to the nearest tree. I think he bumped his head that leads him to be unconscious. They were all shocked base on their faces, even I too; looking at what she has done, it's like watching a TV. But she composed ourselves and talked directly to Cris. "I, Jessica Light, Omega of Dark Moon Pack. Rejecting you, Cris Brook, the soon Alpha of the pack." My wolf said. I didn't have any more strength left so she's the one who voices those words. She's stronger than me and remained strong for both of us. Cris couldn't believe what I'd said when I saw his expression changed. I also saw the pain in his eyes but not so sure because he was good at pretending. "I accept your rejection." He sighed after he whispered his answer. After he said his acceptance, I started to run away from the pack, away from them all. Away from the so-called family who also abused me. "Run after her. Don't let her escape." I heard Luis screamed that was already gained his consciousness. Then I heard their footsteps following me. I knew they are older than me and could already shift, so I ran much faster the best I could before they caught me. I just ran and ran non-stop. Even I could already feel the pain in my feet, and legs. I continued to run because I still heard them following me. They never wanted to let me go. I stumbled and fell because of the uneven floor of the forest. But I still didn't give up. I still stood up and ran as mighty as I could. Until I saw something that made me smile. I knew I'm already near to the main road, and I just prayed there was a car passing by at this hour. I was so tired, but I couldn't give up. I just couldn't. In no time, I reached the road. I was absentmindedly looking on my left side and backed to myself when I heard the loud horn of the vehicle approaching me. What luck I have! "Ah..." I let out a scream cause of nervousness. The bumper of the car hit my legs and knees. My legs couldn't support my weight anymore so it gave up and I fell on the road. "Help!" I managed to say before I lost consciousness. "She's a werewolf. s**t! Put her inside the car." Someone said and it's the voice of a woman. Then someone carried me. In the arm of the unknown who was carrying me, I fell asleep.
