truth

Axel POV I was too shocked to move when Gina came back into the room. Everything around me disappeared as I watched her. It was like I was seeing her for the first time, all over again. If I didn't know any better, I'd swear she was gliding above the floor. Her hair was shimmering gold in the light, and when our eyes met, I knew who she was, who her wolf really was. I knew in that split second that I would have to protect her more because she would be a sort after wolf. One eye blue and the other pink, but they both had the gold sheen over them. Both Gina and Dakote were there together. Us normal wolves would only be at the front of our minds one at a time. The only wolf that has ever been known in history to come together as one with their human is the Sequoia wolf. A direct descendent of Selene herself. I've only ever heard stories about it. Passed down through generations before us. Sequoia is only gifted to the utmost worthy. Over the years, there have only been a few cases of her graces us but I would never have guessed it be Gina. I understand fully why she would be chosen, but it's a shock. I assumed it was because she is a Royal, why Dakote was bound, but now it all makes sense, Dakotes pink eyes should have given me a clue if I'm being honest but I just thought it was because she was unique. And sometimes, Royal wolves do have qualities that none of us normal wolves do. Watching her heal Kev and give him mercy from the torture of a rejection was amazing. Seeing her use her true power to heal made me love her more, if that's even possible. I mind linked shane, asking him to leave training and meet us here and to bring Nate with him. I knew there were things to discuss when we left this room. Kev thanked us and left, and I knew this was where we needed to get a plan in motion. I didn't want to let Gina go. Blaze and I are even more on high alert. "Let's move, my office now." I rush out, holding Ginas hand. She doesn't say a word and just walks with me. Shane, Paula, and Nate are following behind. I can hear Shane asking Paula what's happened, but she says nothing. She's probably as shocked as me. We make it in no time. "Shut the door," I say, walking Gina to my chair. She sits, and I get her a bottle of water from my mini fridge. She is sitting sipping it, looking tired, and I know she must be. "What's happening?" Nate asks, moving to Gina and placing his hand on her forehead. "What is said must stay in these walls," I state, but both Shane and Nate give me a look, with an eyebrow raised. As if I'm stating the obvious. And I know I'm being irrational because I trust those in this room. "Ginas wolf, she's.. she's.." I can't quite believe I'm about to say the words "Dakote" Nate says like I've lost my mind "yes Dakote is the Sequoia wolf" they both look at each other frowning before turning back to me like I've lost the plot. "Don't look at me like that," I growl out irritated "sorry it's just that. You know, " Shane stutters, not sure what to say "Paula" I say, finally looking at her sitting on another chair. She nods her head yes. Shane kneels beside her, taking her hand. "Love. Are you ok? " she nods again, finally lifting her eyes up."It's true, " and I see the colour drain from both mens faces. "What is it?" I hear Gina ask, confused. I kneel down to her, and I know it's going to be a lot to take in. "Baby.. Dakote is special, you're both really, really special. " I'm not sure what to say, but her smile throws me off,"of course Dakotes special. She's perfect. " she smiles, and I agree."She is, and so are you, but there's a little more to it than that." She just frowns at me,"how so" she wouldn't have heard the stories passed down, and I forget she is new to all of this. "Let me ask my parents to come. Dad tells it better than me, " I say, rubbing the back of my neck embarrassed. If I'm honest, I listened to the stories, but I never put much stock in them. She nodded ok and yawned. 'Dad, please, it's important. Can you and Mum come to my office? Bring Daniel and sue with you.' I link him hoping that they are not busy 'of course, son. Is everything ok? "he asks, but I don't want to say through our link. 'I'll explain everything to you when you get here' and cut the link. I kiss Gina's head, and she looks exhausted. I look around the room. Everyone is in a state of shock. 'We protect mate,' Blaze growls, knowing now that she is going to be in more danger. 'We will. No matter what mate comes first,' I reassure him. Actually, I'm reassuring us both. The knock on the door grabs my attention. Shane opens it to my parents and his. Sue walks to a pale looking Paula, asking what's happened and my mum beelines for Gina looking worried. "Son," dad asks, worried. Placing his hand on my shoulder while looking around us all. "I need you to tell Gina about the Sequoia wolf," I say, looking at him, but it just confuses him. "Of course, but why do you all look shocked?" he asks. "Because she is," I say, looking at mum talking with Gina. "Is what?" he frowned. "Gina is the Sequoia wolf," and the room went silent.
