James POV
The clock struck midnight.
I leaned on the bed and smiled as I thought of Adele's presence.I was surprised that the hospital bed resisted us.
I was in heaven until something occurred to me.
There was another person.
Elena.
My eyes widened in shock.I almost forgot about her.I didn't even notice that she haven't visited me this whole day.We didn't even have our session.
What did I do? Was this right? I was playing with two women at the same time.
My heart felt restless.
I dialed her number immediately.
Declined.
I called her again.
Declined.
I called once again.
"Hello." Her angelic voice reached my ears.
"Elena.Where are you?" I asked.
"What do you want?" She asked,in a very,very intimidating voice.
"I- You didn't come to see me." I whispered.She hung up without saying anything.
What is wrong with her? Our relationship was already a mistake.Was she jealous because my wife came?

I was awoken by a mild sound.I parted my eyes and saw Elena going through my charts. In the corner was standing Maximilian.He was looking different than today.He looked angry and dark.He was usually cheerful and joyous.What was wrong with everyone?
"Elena." I whispered.She completely ignored my existence.
"Elena!" I raised my tone.
"She has ears,James.She is listening." Max said.
"Elena!" I sat up and grabbed her hands.At that moment,she gave me a glare.Her eyes could killed me.
"James Redfield,do not f**k with me." She whispered in a stern voice.
"What happened?" I asked.
"You're really going to act like you have no clue?" Max asked.
All of a sudden,I received a call from Adele.I quickly put the phone close to my ears.
"James-" She cried.
''What happened?" I asked.
"The hospital forbid me to come to visit you any longer stating that I have broken the rules.'' She said.
''How...?- wait,I will call you back later." I said.
''You forbade Adele from coming afterwards?" I asked.
''She breached the safety protocols." said Max.
''Excuse me,I am talking with Elena.'' I said normally. I didn't like how he was interrupting our conversation.
"You heard him.'' She whispered.
"Elena, please talk to me.'' I held her hands again.She motioned Max to leave and he did.
When she made eye contact with me,her eyes were red and puffy. She looked pale,as if there wasn't any soul inside her.
Her eyes welled up.
"I saw you having s*x with her." She whispered. I gasped.How was this possible? Did life really hate me that much?
"Ele-"
"Don't take my f*****g name in your mouth!" She yelled angrily.
"She is my wife.It is my responsibility to please her,besides that,I couldn't reject her directly. " I said.
"You could! You could've said you were sick. You could've said that your pain has increased, you could've said a lot of things but you didn't. That's just your excuse. You love her..."
"And I am just a side w***e to you." Her voice cracked as she said that.
"Please don't cry, I can't bear seeing yo-"
"No, don't sympathize me! You slept with her and don't expect me to take it well!" She said.
"She has a right to. " I whispered.
"Damn right she does.What am I to you even?" She asked. Her state tore me apart.
"Elena!"
"That's enough, James! Stop playing with me! You and I? We are done.This moment afterwards, don't you even dare to call me by my name." She raised her voice.
"Don't leave me. " I whispered in fear of losing her. My eyes welled up.
"f**k you!" She whispered in my face as she slapped me hard on the cheek.She weakly held her arms and walked out of the door.
I broke down in tears as she left. She was heartbroken and so was I.
Of course, she was. What could be worse than seeing your person with someone else. Over that, I told her that she doesn't have the right to be jealous.
