The following day.
"Are you okay?" Max grabbed me.
"I am." I whispered.
"You've drowned yourself with work this whole day,Elena.Take some time off." He said.
"I am." I replied. He pushed me to the wall and made me stay in one place.
"Elena,James Redfield is a person unworthy of your love and time.Even if he did love you, in the end,he will only choose his wife." He cupped my face.I closed my eyes tightly.
"Some people is worth the pain." I whispered.
"What will you do ? Stay angry on him and get more and more obsessed with him? Are you going to be that kind of person?" He asked.

He leaned closer and placed his forehead on mine.

He couldn't just make a decision for himself. He betrayed me. He easily could've made an excuse and reject his wife to sleep but he didn't.
Why didn't he? If I was just a side w***e, then why was he in a state like this.
I took a deep breath and wiped my tears before going inside.
"Elena!" He jumped as he saw me.
"Elena,please. I am sorry. " He grabbed me tightly.
"Shut it! Finish your f*****g breakfast so I can get done with you!" I yelled.

"It's Dr.Alvarez." I replied.
"Don't do this." He whispered. I had to control myself. I was about to break down in tears but I stopped myself.
Instead of replying, I quickly finished the session with him.
"I cannot do this without you. " He whispered. I didn't say anything. It was pointless arguing with him.
I mean,why wouldn't he cheat? Of course, he did cheat on his wife with me. I see no reason why he wouldn't cheat on me as well.

"How are you?" Bradley placed his hand on my head.
"You must be so happy after succeeding. " I whispered with my trembling voice.
"Elena..." He whispered and sat beside me.I quickly hid my face so he wouldn't know that I was crying.
"I am sorry for my behavior earlier. I just had my things to deal with. I was really frustrated. I am sorry. " He said.
"It's alright. " I whispered, still my face was buried on the table,between my arms.
"Elena, about James..." He sighed.
"I don't want to talk about it. " I whispered. He caressed my hair with his hand.
"Do I really mean nothing to no one?!" I raised my head.
"That's not-"
"That is true. " I wiped my tears.
"Elena,she is his wife. What do you expect after falling in love with a married man?" He asked.
"He said things to me,it made me feel like he loved me.I just...I can't do this anymore. I want to die." I cried.
"Stop saying these kind of things,Elena. Life has much more better things for you. Just wait." He said.
"You wouldn't understand,would you? He is the only man I've ever had feelings for and now he is gone. I have lost him!" I cried.
"Of course I know how it feels." He replied.
"No you- what?'' I whispered.
"Sandy is cheating on me.I have known about it.I haven't face her yet. " He said.
"How did...what?" I was unable to speak. One shock after another.
"I had doubts.She was acting different. So one night,I told her that I would be working late,instead I hid inside the house. Damn,I prayed so hard that night. I have been traumatized since that night. " He said.
"That's why you haven't been operating since the last month ?" I asked.
"Yes. She threw away 25 years of marriage like nothing." He whispered. I placed my hand on his.
"This is why I was mad at you for ruining Adele and James's marriage. " He sighed.
We talked about life. Distractions from these painful things were a lot better than staying alone and crying.
