DYLAN
“You have to stop drinking. You’ve been drinking for hours.” Degar said seated right across me.
How could I stop drinking? No matter how hard I try not to, I don’t think I can. The fact she doesn’t want me close and she feels disgusted by me haunts me.
I don’t think I can bear this and this was exactly what I was avoiding. I was trying to take it slow and then reveal it to her later.
She’s human and so of course I expected her to call me insane but showing her my true form only made it worse.
Although she knows, it made her frightened and that hurts me.
“I’m not going to get drunk and that’s why I’m angry,” I lifted the cup of tequila.
“You see, for once I want to know what it feels like to get drunk. I do but it doesn’t seem like I will and it’s annoying and sad.” I chuckled lightly.
“That won’t help you. All you have to do is try to get closer to her. Whether she likes it or not, she’s your mate and you are our alpha, and one day she’d be our Luna.” Degar remarked.
“That’s exactly what I don’t want. I wanted to get closer to her, build our friendship, and make it good then ask her to be my woman. I didn’t want any of this to happen but it has and now she doesn’t want to be close to me and it torments me. I f*****g hate it.” I said through my teeth.
I wish things didn’t go the way they went but it did and I want the best for the both of us. The look she gave me and how she avoided me in class.
Emily is always seated in the front seat in my class and she’s always answering questions and giving her two takes on every topic but today she ran out of the class and I felt like a huge part of me had been taken.
“It has happened and there’s nothing you can do about the past but there is something you can do about the future and that’s going after her and making her your woman. If you keep staying away and all, she won’t ever be yours.” Degar stated.
As much as I understood his point I couldn’t rush it. I had to take my time with her.
“I think I’d give her space for the meantime. It’s a whole lot for her and I don’t want her running away from me. I want her to be mine and I will take it slow. I will watch her from afar.” I explained to him.
I downed the shot of tequila in my cup. I cannot lose her not when I’ve come this far for her. Leaving behind my company and going to teach at the university she attends just to be closer.
I’ve come this far to lose her and I won’t lose her at all.
“I will go get that,” Degar said when he heard my house alarm ring,
Shortly he returned with someone who from the smell I perceived was a member of my pack Kate, my assistant and also my secretary.
“Good day to you alpha Dylan.” She said as she dropped the documents she came with on the table.
“How are you, Kate?” I asked her.
Kate had been keeping my company going giving me updates and doing the needful whenever I wasn’t around.
I trust her and there has been no day she didn’t give a full report on how things went in the company and my schedule.
“I’m fine thank you Alpha and I trust you are also fine.” She replied with a smile on her face.
I offered for her to sit and she sat down.
“What’s up? Keep me informed.” I said.
“Mr Smith will be coming to the country and he already agreed to meet you. Mrs. Daniel said she’d love to meet you so she can tell you about the ideas she had and hope that you invest in them. The company has been doing fine and the finance team submitted the monthly report.” She informed me.
She took out a file from her bag which I’m guessing to be the monthly report from the finance team.
I took the file from her hand and went through it.
“This is great. You are doing a nice job.”
She smiled in return.

It’s been over a week and I’ve been trying to speak to Emily. To get her to listen to me and not to be scared of me but all of my efforts seem futile as she tries her very best to not see me and not cross the same path as me.
She no longer attends my class and it’s very easy to notice and it hurts me. Everything is f****d up and no matter how hard I tried not to be affected by it, I just cannot help it.
Two days ago I started to stalk her. I usually watched her from afar before but now I cannot help it.
I need to see her, to explain things to her and if she would go that far to avoid me, then I’d do everything I can to get to see her.
“I need to pass this project, it’s going to do a lot for my grades.” I heard her say to one of her friends.
I’m currently outside of her shared apartment with her friend listening to their conversation.
It seems she has a school project that would help her. She’s trying to take the project because she has stopped to attend my class and she doesn’t want that to be a reason she fails.
It hurts me so much. I thought of everything I could do for her to warm up to me again and at this point, it was starting to scare me that there might be no solution at all but I refused to give up.
“Why did you stop attending Professor Dylan’s class? What happened Emily? What’s going on? You won’t speak and you’ve been spacing out a lot and suddenly you want to take on this project!” Her friend remarked.
I heard her sigh. “I am going to speak to Professor Donald and tell him I’d take it. I could use the extra credit.” She ignored the questions of her friend.
“You are unbelievable. Do you think it’s going to be easy? Nobody has ever passed any prophecy with Professor Donald.” Her friend reminded her.
“Oh come on. It’s not possible and I’m positive about it. I can do it. I will speak to him tomorrow and take it.” She sounded determined.
“I don’t even know what to say to you. Why do you keep doing this? Are you not going to tell me anything? I’m your best friend and I know why it’s what you are doing. Why are you keeping me in the dark!” Her best friend sounded irritated by the whole situation.
“Listen to me, Mira. It’s not what it’s that you are thinking about. It’s nothing. I just have a lot on my plate and I’ll let you know when it’s the right time so please for now let’s focus on me taking this project alright?”
“Alright, and you better tell me soon. I cannot be kept in the dark and I’m starting to worry.” Mira warned.

I have been waiting outside Professor Donald’s office for some minutes now, waiting for Emily to come and for me to tell her that I can help her and that she’d pass with Professor Donald.
I hope she’ll accept my help. I want to get close to her and to get her to know me better.
I have been following her discreetly so that I can get to do this all morning and I hope she agrees.
“Alright, Professor Donald. I will be glad to work on this.” I heard her say to Professor Donald and from how she spoke, she sounded a little nervous about it.
I heard her walking towards the door and I went to hide.
She came out of the door and exhaled deeply. “You can do it.” She muttered to herself.
“Let me help you.” I finally said, appearing behind her and I noticed how her boulder stiffened from the sound of my voice.
“Please don’t run.” I immediately said before she ran away.
I took in a deep breath as I started to slowly walk towards her.
“Don’t come any closer,” she said, still backing me and from how she sounded, she was nervous.
It hurts me each time to see her this way. She’s scared of me and it makes me feel bad.
“Alright. I won’t come close. I just want to help you. With my help, you can ace Professor Dylan’s project and you’ll get the extra credit you want. I don’t want you to be scared of me, Emily. Please.” I pleaded, hoping she would accept.
It was tense. I stood some centimeters away from her while nervously waiting for her response.
