Chapter Nine

Sophie was pacing in my head as we drove in the cars towards the address that Walter had given to Drew.
Drew filled me in on the details of what had transpired after I left the dungeons.
I was surprised that he hadn't actually had to inflict any torture on him. It seems that despite all the bravado he had shown before he was taken to the treatment room, he had folded very quickly in the end.
I was glad for two reasons the first and most obvious being it meant we could pursue the boys much quicker but also secondly I was worried what it might do to Drew psychologically.
The address that Walter had given Drew was actually not that far away, I guess that Beatrice had decided that the less time she spent travelling in a car with them, the less chance there was of her being seen and her location given away.
She would probably also have assumed, correctly that we would have thought she would be trying to get as far away as she could.
In fact if this was in fact the correct address it was really close to Alpha Stephan and the Dawn Sun Pack territory. I have to wonder if she is aware of our close connection with them.
As soon as Drew had found out the address he had called Stephan and asked him if he could send a few warriors over that way and keep an eye on the house.
Stephan had immediately agreed and he had also sent men to watch the roads leading away from the house in case she managed to sneak away undetected.
Before we had left Cal had informed Drew that he had managed to get a description from Walter of the car he thought she might be using so Stephan knew what to be looking out for.
Drew had asked him not to enter the house, if she was inside we wanted the pleasure of ending her life ourselves.
" We are nearly there Princess"
I turned and gave Drew a weak smile. It was the best I could muster. I had no idea what was awaiting us when we reached the house and I was not going to get my hopes up until my babies were back in my arms again safe and unharmed.
" There it is" He said a few minutes later nodding his head in the direction a small house with a few steps out front leading to the front door.
Rage began to course through my veins once more when I caught sight of the silver bars on the basement windows.
This b***h had my boys locked up in there.
I was out of the car before Drew had even come to a complete stop and running as fast as I could towards the house.
I could hear Drews voice yelling behind me but I was so focused on getting to my babies I couldn't make out a word he was saying.
I charged through the front door and quickly scanned the area around me.
It was empty. I rushed towards the door that clearly lead to the basement and seeing all the locks I knew I was right but none of the locks were closed and I knew then that they were not here.
I made my way down the stairs regardless a tiny part of me still praying to the moon goddess that they were here.
As I reached the bottom and looked around the room I saw two small beds and a portable toilet. Taking a deep breath I could pick up their scent. They had been here and not too long ago.
I collapsed to my knees as Sophie let out a loud angry roar. We had taken too long. If I hadn't beaten Walter we would have had the location quicker and we would have got to them in time before she had chance to move them.
I sensed Drew behind me and felt his arms around me as he gently lifted me to my feet.
" They were here Drew. She had them here in this room. Look at it! They must be so scared and confused."
" Their scents are strong it can't be more than half an hour since they left. Stephan has men watching all the roads. She won't get far now."
" The men watching the house. How did she get away without them seeing?"
" I will call Stephan now and update him. He needs to know she is on the move and he can tell his men to be extra vigilant"
With that Drew took his phone out of his jacket pocket but before he could dial Stephan's number, it began to ring.
" Stephan. I was literally about to dial your number." Drew said as he answered and pressed the button for the loudspeaker.
" Drew my men are tracking a car that matches the description of the car you gave. However the driver seems to be aware she is being followed. She is making very erratic manoeuvres."
" Are Jack and Jacob with her?" I asked in a worried voice.
" We haven't seen them yet so we aren't sure but hopefully they are, I have ordered my men to not get too close in case they are and she crashes trying to escape from them"
" What happened to your men stationed near to the house? How has she been able to escape?" Drew asked.
" I haven't been able to contact them. I was hoping some of your men could try and locate them for me"
" Of course you have been doing everything you can to help us. I will leave some of my men behind here just text me their last know locations and I will pass that information on to them"
At this point I think Drew could see how impatient I was and quickly ended the conversation and hung up the phone.
A minute later his phone pinged with a message from Stephan.
It was an image from a tracking app that seemed to show the location of the vehicle Stephan's men were following and a link to the app so we could follow it in real time. It also had a separate image of a map with several areas highlighted close to where we were now. I assumed this was the locations of the missing men. I had no time to worry about them now though however. I now knew where my babies were or at least I hoped I did.
I started to run back up the stairs but before I could reach the top I felt Sophie push forward and force a shift.
" What are you doing?" I asked her.
" I can run faster than Drew can drive there. I am going to get our pups back" She answered in a determined voice.
