Chapter Seven

Isabella I could feel my body shaking as I stepped inside the cell behind Drew. I don't know if it was the anger that was coursing through my veins or fear and worry for Jack and Jacob. To the left of us on the cold stone floor next to the wall was the man who had attacked Marcus and Jen. His left eye was still swollen shut but he stared at us as we entered with his other eye. Cal and Owen had secured him to the wall behind him with some heavy chains which were attached to some silver cuffs around his wrists. Seeing him like this made me feel sad, not for him but for my adoptive parents whom had been held in a similar way not long after they arrived here. They had lied about their identities and when Drew found out he had brought them here as he was fearful they had still been loyal to Eric. It turned out they were worried of the repercussions of their actions involving me as a child and had lied. They had apologised and I forgave them but unfortunately we struggled with our relationship and they had both left a year ago and gone to another pack. We still talk on the phone though and they often video call the pups. " WHERE HAS SHE TAKEN THEM?" Drew roared at him in his Alpha voice even though we all knew it would do no good for him to use it. This man was not a pack member so he didn't have to submit to Drew. It just showed how angry Drew was. " You'll never find them. Any of them." He answered without any hesitation. Despite the circumstances he was in this man didn't seem in the slightest bit fazed. " Well if you are so sure of that why don't you just tell us where she was planning on going?" Drew said. " You really think she is stupid enough to have gone there? She will know there's a chance I've been captured and could reveal her location." " Why? Why has she taken them?" I asked him as I struggled to control the shaking in my voice. He shrugged as if he simply didn't care that my babies were out there somewhere. " Revenge. She told me the two of you were responsible for killing her parents." Drew turned to look at me. I knew what he was thinking before he even linked me. " The only person you killed was Eric." I nodded. This woman who had been living in our pack for the last couple of years was the daughter of that monster. How did no one realise? Drew had done rigorous checks on every person who had come here from the Black Mountain Pack thats how my adoptive parents had been discovered. " If you are so confident she wouldn't have gone to the place you were meant to go there is no harm in telling us." Drew said as he turned his attention back to him. " No. I am a professional. If word got out I would never work again." " I've got news for you. If you don't tell us you definitely will never work again. In fact you probably won't be alive long enough to ever work again." Drew threatened him. In normal circumstances I would not have condoned Drew using violence against him but if that's what he had to do to find our boys in this case I would make an exception. The man let out a loud chuckle as he stared Drew straight in the eye with his only good eye. " Do you worst. I will never tell you what you want to know." " Very well. If that's your decision so be it." Drew turned to Cal. " Take him to the treatment room." The way he said treatment room caused a shiver to run down my spine. I had never heard mention of this place before and I had an uneasy feeling about it. If I didn't know any better I would guess it was some kind of torture room. " Isabella. You need to leave the dungeons now. I don't want you down here for what comes next." I nodded. If my suspicions were correct I had no intention of being anywhere near the treatment room. I was about to go to him for a kiss goodbye but before I had chance he turned and walked out of the room. Judging by his manner I assumed he was just focused on the task at hand and so I wasn't offended. I followed behind him and then carried on back along the corridor and up the stairs until I was outside in the fresh air. The suns rays had begun to shine across the territory and I began to walk back towards the pack house as quickly as I could. I knew what was about to transpire down in the dungeons and as much as I hated this man for the part he had to play in my babies kidnapping, I had no desire to listen to him being tortured. It just wasn't in my nature. Once I reached the packhouse I thought about going up to our room and trying to get some sleep. After all I'd be no use in saving them if I was to exhausted to fight for them. But upon consideration I realised I was unlikely to fall asleep so I decided to go and see my daughters instead. Hopefully they will be able to help take my mind of this horrible situation even if just for a few seconds. April, Evie and Maisie were all with Drew's parents in their room on the floor below ours. As I approached the door I listened carefully, it was still extremely early and I wasn't sure any of the girls would be awake. They had all been to bed much later than they were used to last night. I heard April's voice crying as she asked to see her brothers. She wanted to play. I also hear Maria doing her best to console her. That moment there broke me even more. I mindlinked Drew. " I don't care what you have to do. I don't care what it takes. Find out where our boys are"
