Chapter 14

To become number one.

“Kill, come on!” Lucian's begging voice echoed, as it was followed by a loud voice coming from Killian himself.

“I know what I'm going to do, you imbecile good-for-nothing nerd!”

All of us looked at each other. Yvonne slightly chuckles as I saw some of our classmates are smiling at the view, watching those two that we didn't expect that they'll start talking again.

No, actually, we didn't expect Killian to come down to have dinner with us, so it means we don't have to bring him his dinner to his room and most importantly, he's participating in the meetings regarding our plans is able to win the upcoming Intramurals two days from now.

Yes, it's been days since that incident happened, and up until now, we are still clueless at what the heck had happened in the hospital.

I still couldn't forget the look on their face, especially Ms. Sanchez when she saw the results of her tests which all of them are negative. Yes, she repeated the test thrice to see if there's a mistake that was happened but all of them turned out negative after it.

As Headmaster said that maybe, the first test she did was the mistake. But the look on her face, it was as if she knows that the first test wasn't a mistake, however, Headmaster pushed the idea that maybe it's really a mistake since she only did a test once and somehow, Ms. Sanchez believed afterward.

But it still couldn't change the fact regarding how the hell Killian's arm turned into clear from having dark violet something— because of venom, and it's still a mystery to us and everyone who was on that place back then.

So they just made everyone believed that they succeeded in curing Killian's venom and the two days after that, he was allowed to go out and come back into our dorm.

And started that day, I noticed that Killian and Lucian are already talking— even if Killian's always raising his voice every time he'll talk into Lucian. Just like right now.

Killian's stares stopped at us and suddenly, he became tiger who was about to roar again. “What are you looking at, you stupid fucktards?!” He shouted at us as we quickly removed our gazes from him, even there's a smile plastering in our face.

Yeah, our dorm's really in silence every time that he isn't here.

“So any way that's the only background that I know and since our opponents here will be the same freshmen like us, I would still want you all to open your eyes and look carefully at your surroundings. We don't know what those other freshmen like us hold under their sleeves especially those other parts of top 10… we must be careful at them.” Ashton said as we all nodded.

We still haven't know what will be the games are and of course, what will happen into the game since there's a possibility that we will face each other's— just what Mr. Monaghan said.

“So if you two become partners, please, Killian and Lucian, behave.” Ashton said with seriousness on his voice as he looked at those two, in which, Killian glared at him before he averted his gaze after he made his signature ‘tch’ sound again.

Well, we could see that it's only Killian who wouldn't behave since right now, Lucian's doing everything not to get in front of his path after all, after what happened in their fight back then at the training ground, that's what I could see right now.

So the next day, I thought it'll be a peaceful day for us since everyone's busy at strengthening their body and of course, conditioning them, and Mr. Monaghan dismissed us early since he wanted us to rest and condition our bodies too. He also said that students are only allowed to half-day today, so it means we don't have any training class later and it also means that we are allowed to do everything we wanted.

Well, in my case, I'll just be going to sleep and sleep until I woke up tomorrow since, for me, sleep is my therapy regarding everything.

Ah, right. Even if we're kind of preparing for what's going to happen, Ashton made sure that we mustn't expose the strategies we have in our mind and it's regarding at how we will fight especially once we faced off with some of our classmates, since Mr. Monaghan said that it isn't impossible that we will face one of each.

However, of course, when it's about pieces of information regarding the abilities that other sections hold, all of us are sharing the information we know in which, I also thought that the other sections are also doing that.

It wasn't considered cheating after all.

It's about having knowledge and being prepared for what will going to happen next.

“Anyway, I have a piece of new information regarding—” Yuki haven't finished what she's saying when Killian suddenly stood up from his seat and started walking towards where the door is.

“Whatever, I'm going to sleep,” He said as he placed both of his hands on his pockets. “I'm so tired of hearing the same anyway,” He even added.

Yuki's expression turned sour and was about to burst out but when she opened her mouth to speak, Ashton speaks ahead of her.

“Hey, Killian, participate!” He said and based on his face right now, he looks so serious. Well, after all, the Intramurals will happen tomorrow and we must be prepared since it'll be the last time we will have our meeting thoroughly.

But as a result, Killian just gave him a deadly glare. “Don't order me around, you four-eyes!” He said as he proceeded into opening the door but was quickly stopped when he saw what's outside.

No, actually, all of us are looking back at them.

So now, looking at the door which Killian opened, where other people from Mages course are right outside the door of our room, in which I was right at the thought that they're also getting some pieces of information regarding us and the powers we hold and it was confirmed when all of us heard what a person said from that crowd in front of us.

“These are the famous 1-A? They looked so ordinary at me, especially this one.” A man who looks boastful said as he's looking at Killian as if he must be scared at his presence.

“Uh-oh,” Selene, who's at my right side, said as she looks at Killian and if only we're in some kind of anime, maybe I could already see the angry mark on his head because of what the person has said.

And Killian being Killian Astaroth, instead of backing down, he would only keep pushing forward until everyone bowed their head on him, like a mighty lion who will keep roaring at the highest level of the ground until every animal is scared and bowing their head on him.

He doesn't accept being ordered.

And most importantly, he doesn't accept being belittled… like people looking down on him.

Since he is Killian Astaroth.

Yet we all looked at each other's when Killian didn't speak and acted as if he doesn't hear anything the man has said since he continued walking through the side of the crowd, in which, some people started giving way for him to get out.

It made us relieved a little, truth to be told since right now, we could've seen that he doesn't want any fight with anyone as if he just really wanted to get some sleep. Ah, I've noticed that he's been yawning earlier at the whole lecture and maybe it's the reason why Mr. Monaghan dismissed us early. What the heck this guy did last night that he's too sleepy right now?

But then, the man who spoke earlier couldn't read the atmosphere around him, as he suddenly came in front of Killian as if he's looking for a fight. With chest out, boastful and prideful face, with chin high, almost looking down at us, he speaks.

“What? You wouldn't say anything? Are all of you became mute from what happened to that charity?”

We all stood up and quickly came almost into their aid to stop him but then, it's too late.

Especially when he looked down at Killian who's silent— clearly not in the mood and looking at in front of him only. “Ah, this is the man who was caught having a demon's venom and the reason why there's an emergency three days ago, right? The top one? Don't you think that you don't really deserve your spot since you let a weakshit venom entered your body?” He laughed mockingly while looking at him while we got completely frozen in our spot after hearing what he said and knowing what will happen next.

We hesitantly looked at Killian who was still silent, and I think the man's companions felt our hesitantly and warning gazes since they pulled the man on his arms as if saying that he should stop already, but he doesn't want to, as if he's enjoying what he's saying— or let me say, belittling the top one.

I bit my lower lips as slowly, Killian lifted his stares— cold yet sharp gazes at the man whom I saw his eyes widen a little from shocked, and unluckily for him, the one he's belittling for is the king who doesn't back down.

As Killian smirked devilishly, just as when my heart started beating so fast in nervousness… for the man, and for us. Since Killian's words couldn't be stopped and we mustn't have enemies from other sections or else, they will start targeting us!

Just as when Killian said the words he wanted to say.

“Defeat me and get the first rank in the Intramurals, and I will give it to you,”

My eyes widen a bit at what he said. He… isn't the type of person like that. But once he said it, it was as if he was so sure that this man wouldn't be able to defeat him, as pride and power could've been heard in the way he said those words.

“Well, I'll be the one who will defeat you,” A man from the crowd said again, as before our gazes transferred to him who's walking so coolly at those crowd as of he's the one they must bow their head at. “Remember my name, from Mages course 1-B—” He wasn't even saying his name when Killian gave him a glimpse only before he started walking through the straight path going to where the stairs are, with his hands waving through the air.

“Prove it then, shitheads.” He said as we watched him walking away, and all I could do was to sighed in relief since he isn't the loud guy today.

Ah, right. Killian and his behavior are really confusing, truth to be told.

“Hey, you— ouch! Stop it!” The man who speaks earlier suddenly said as everyone's attention focused on him, where from his back, a man with glasses suddenly pinch his ear before looking at us after he fixed his glasses on his eyes.

“Don't mind whatever this guy said,” It was as if he's asking for an apology for what his classmate had said earlier. “But we aren't planning to lose so you must brace yourself, class A,” Wrong, he's asking for a challenge too.

“Damn that guy!”

Just as when we turned our attention to the man who shouted that word and was about to follow Killian and stopped him when suddenly, in a flash, yellow bolts of lightning suddenly encircled into his feet, enough for him to stop his movement, just before Keanu's already in front of him, having electricity all over his body.

“Boy, stop,” Keanu held into his shoulder as he shook his head slowly before speaking. “That man you are belittling at is the one who defeated the boss himself with no help from the Pro Mages,” He said so seriously that everyone, aside from us of course, gasped in shock from what they just heard.

But the man just laughed at what he heard. “Should I be scared at that?” He said but despite how he shows us that he wasn't scared or nervous at what he just heard, I could clearly see him being a little nervous as he's trying to hide it from everyone, acting as if he isn't scared.

Just as when Dashiel walked passed at him, as in right in front of his face as if he's showing that a man like him could just easily get passed at, yet all of us heard what he said. “Yeah, we think you should.” As we couldn't help but smile a little before we started walking to go back into our dorm, since Dashiel could only say… or let me say, compliment someone once in a blue moon.

And yeah, we really think that they should start being scared since what Killian says, he will do everything until he does them.

And even he indirectly said it, I know he will do everything just to claim it.
