{Alister’s POV}
Her scent still lingered on my skin as I stood in the hallway. I needed to be close to her. I walked back into her room, and there she was, asleep, so beautiful. I’ve never much cared for the mate bond, I didn’t think I wanted one honestly, but seeing her tiny form laying on that bed, it made my heart skip a beat. Her voice is soft as rain, and her beauty is beyond compare. She’s so kind, but frail. Her mother put her on those pills, and now she’s ill. How could a mother do this to her child? I sat on the bed beside her and brushed a strand of hair from her face. I looked over and saw a book laying on the floor. I walked over and picked it up, looking at the drawing of me. She’s talented, I don’t think I’ve ever looked this gentle. I looked down at the photo when I heard a soft voice behind me.
“Sorry, that’s my book. Seems kind of weird, I had a dream about you, then you appeared.” She said looking at her hands.
“A dream? Can you tell me about it?” I asked walking over and sitting beside her looking at the book. “I don’t think I’ve ever looked so gentle in my life. Everyone is normally afraid of me.” I said handing her the book.
“Why would they be afraid, your beautiful, and gentle, but also strong.” She said before her face turned an adorable shade of red as she looked away. “O-Or at least you have been with me.” She said.
“That’s because you’re different, you’re special Willow.” I said to her, even her name sounded like a song.
She laughed out loud at what I had said. “Me being unlucky, clumsy, and a bother is special?” She said.
I hated the way she talked about herself, my mate shouldn’t see herself as anything less than perfect. “No, you’re reliable, headstrong, and courageous. You just don’t see it that way, you came here to speak with your father, and you were attacked. You ran, and fought, you made it here. You got hurt, you died, but you’re alive, and you’re getting better everyday.” I said looking into her brownish green eyes, they were beautiful, they pulled me in even more and I found myself looking over all of her features, her soft gentle eyes, her button nose, her pouty lips. Everything about her was incredible, like a work of art. She was my mate, how did I get so lucky? Her face glowed a bright red, she bit her bottom lip, and oh how I wanted to make her stop, and kiss her slowly, and softly, but this isn’t her world. We have to tell her everything.
“C-Can you tell me something?” She asked.
“Of course, anything for you little dove!” I answered truthfully.
She looked down and fiddled with her hands, and confused expression on her face. “Why.. why do I feel so drawn to you? It’s like you, you complete me. You being close calms me down, but makes me nervous, it helps me. I just don’t understand.” She asked.
“Oh little dove, you’ll understand soon. I’ll get your father and Jackson, and Julius together and we’ll explain everything to you tomorrow. How does that sound?”
She nodded. “Okay, yeah, that’s.. that’s good.” She said yawning.
I laid her bed back, and picked her up bridal style, I laid her comfortably on the bed, and tucked her in. Soon she was asleep. “Rest now, my little dove.” I said as I kissed her forehead and walked to the recliner. “Im not going anywhere.”
{Willow’s POV}
I woke up to the sound of birds chirping, and the sun beaming in through the window. The smell of coffee was much fainter than it was the night before. I sat up in the bed and looked around. No one was here, had I dreamed it all? Had I dreamed of him kissing my head, and taking such good care of me. I must have, there’s no way.
Just then dad entered through the door. “Hey honey, how are you feeling this morning?” He asked.
“I’m okay, just still kinda tired, where.. where’s Alister?” I asked.
“Did he tell you? I thought he wanted us all to have a talk about it!” He said angrily.
“Tell me what? He said that we’d all talk today, but he was here last night. I remember he was here when I went to sleep.” I replied.
“Oh,” he began. “He just went to get some coffee.”
“Is that why he smells so strongly of fresh brewed coffee? He smells amazing, makes me want a cup.” I laughed out.
My father froze in his tracks. “He smells strongly of coffee? I’ve never noticed.” He said gritting his teeth.
“Dad? Are you okay? You seem kind of off.” I asked.
“I’m fine Willow, it’s all fine. It’s just a lot to process, which makes me wonder how you’re going to take all of this.” He said sighing and sitting down beside me. “This is going to be a lot, but I want you to know, we aren’t lying to you! We would never lie to you, but it’s all going to be very hard to believe or understand.” He said holding my hands.
“Dad, you’re scaring me, are you sure everything is alright?” I asked. Just then Alister and Jackson walked in.
Alister had two cups of coffee and he sat one down on the table for me. He pulled some cream and sugars packets out of his pocket. “I’m not sure how you like your coffee, so I just brought you some creams and sugars and figured you can make it how you like it.” He said also pulling out a coffee stir and handing it to me.
“Oh, thank you.” I said taking the stir and beginning to mix up my coffee with lots of cream and sugar. I took a sip, “Mmm.” I hummed softly. It was so good, and refreshing.
Jackson handed my dad a cup of coffee and took a sip of his. He then turned and walked out. A few minutes later he came back with Doctor Julius, and soon we were all sitting and drinking coffee in my room.
“Okay, so what’s going on? Am I going to die again? Is that why you’re all here being weird, talking about telling the truth and all that?” I asked.
“No, no, it’s nothing like that, but it is a little shocking. So we definitely have to handle this gently so you won’t get overwhelmed.” Alister said before they threw out their coffee cups and began moving the furniture around in the room. “So we’re just going to have to show you. Otherwise I don’t think you’ll believe us.” He said before turning to Jackson.
Jackson stood up and began taking off his clothes. I blushed and covered my face. “What the he** are you trying to show me!” I yelled.
“You have to watch little dove, or you won’t understand, don’t worry, he’s not going to get completely naked. He just doesn’t want to ruin his clothes.” He said before sitting beside me and uncovering my eyes.
Jackson was in his boxers, and he slowly went down into all fours, when he came back up, he was a wolf. A WOLF?
