{Willow’s POV}
“What the fu** was that?” I said as I leaned back falling off the bed and onto the floor. I hit my head with a loud resounding thud. I saw stars in my eyes and the room started to spin. “How? Why? Owe!” I said sitting up. The wolf started stalking towards me, dam*, my legs still aren’t working right, but I’m starting to get some feeling back. I can’t move! I pull myself backwards until I thud into the wall. “No, no, no!” I yelled as it came closer. Then it laid at my feet, it looked up at me.
“Little dove it’s okay, that’s Jackson, and his wolf Lucan. He won’t hurt you, he just wants to show you the truth. This is what we are, what you are. We’re all werewolves, including you. The birth control you were taking, was a wolf suppressant which is why your body has been so weak, and you’ve been so sickly. Your life was in danger long before you came here. Soon you’ll notice your senses changing, you’ll feel better, faster, stronger. You’ll want to be outside, feel the grass on your feet, and one day, you’ll be able to change too.” Alister said.
My brain couldn’t comprehend, maybe it was the fact that I just hit my head, but my head was spinning, I began feeling sick to my stomach. I couldn’t get up to go to the bathroom, but I felt like I was going to puke. I held my hand to my mouth, and pulled all the strength that I had, and stood to my feet. My steps were wobbly, and I stumbled a couple of times, but I made it to the bathroom, and locked the door behind me without saying a word. I ran to the toilet and vomited. When I was done, I brushed my teeth, and stumbled back out.
“Are you okay?” Jackson asked, he was back, and dressed in his clothes.
Alister walked over to me and grabbed my waist, helping me back into the bed. “I don’t feel so good.” I said sitting back down.
“Here.” Julius said pulling out a pill bottle from his pocket. “They’re nausea medicine, it should help.” He said handing me the bottle.
I popped it open and tossed one in my mouth, grabbing my water bottle on the side table and drinking it down. I laid back, and carefully thought things through. “So, you’re telling me, you’re all wolves, and so am I?” I asked, and they all nodded. “But that doesn’t explain anything that I talked to you about last night.” I said looking over at Alister.
“Well, have you ever heard the term ‘mate’ before? It’s used a lot in the animal kingdom.” He asked looking shyly at me. I nodded my response not really sure what else to do at this moment. “Well, we’re mates. You’re my mate, and I am yours. Mates have a certain scent, and they’re your other half, which is why you feel that way for me.” He answered.
“So, I’m a wolf, I have a mate like a wolf, and what? Mom knew? Put me on meds to keep me from becoming a wolf, and almost killed me?” I asked tears forming in my eyes.
“Honey, I’m sorry. Your mother, after you were born she changed, she didn’t love me anymore, she told me to leave. I thought I was doing what was best, I didn’t want all of your memories to be of us fighting. Which is all we did. If I had known, if I had the slightest idea I would have come for you. I wouldn’t have let her do that. I’m so sorry Willow!” Dad said tears falling down his face.
Tears began streaming down my face. “I thought she loved me. She was my mother, she was supposed to protect me.” I said getting up from my bed and pacing the floor. Still stumbling a little, my heart hurt. “SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO PROTECT ME!” I yelled. When I yelled, the room shook, and all of the windows in the room shattered. I dropped to my knees, my head hurt so I gripped my head as a searing pain burnt through me to my core.
“Sh**! WE NEED A NURSE IN HERE STAT!” Julius yelled in the background.
“What’s wrong with her?” Alister called.
I sat on all fours panting, I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t see, my hearing was muffled. I screamed as I felt a bone crack and fit back together. Searing pain burned through me again as another bone popped. “AHHHH!!” I screamed as the pain radiated across my entire body.
“She’s shifting, her wolf is trying to come out to protect her!” Julius yelled. “We need to sedate her, if we don’t, I don’t know if she’ll make it through the shift!” He screamed for a nurse again, this time they came running in with syringes full of fluid.
I screamed as another wave of pain hit me, I fell to my side and my breathing became erratic. Then all I saw was darkness.
{Alister’s POV}
It’s been three days since we told Willow about everything, and it’s been three days that she’s been unconscious. After sedating her, she was yet to wake up. Julius comes in, to check her vitals about eight times a day, then he leaves. William comes to check on her constantly, and Jackson comes around to bring me things, and see if she’s up yet. He feel responsible, since it was his wolf that scared her. We all know it’s not his fault, but he’s been taking it extra hard since the incident.
Just then Julius walked through the door. “Just came in to check her vitals.” He said groggily.
“How long has it been since you’ve slept Julius?” I asked.
“I’ll sleep when she wakes up your highness.” He said looking at the monitor. “That, doesn’t look right.” He said.
“What doesn’t look right?” I asked.
“Her heart rate just suddenly spiked, but she’s still not awake.” He said calmly, but worriedly.
“Is she going to be okay? What’s wrong with her?” I asked.
Suddenly Willow sat up, but her eyes were black, much like that of a wolf.
“Willow?” I asked softly.
“No, I’m not Willow, I’m Kira, her wolf. She’s in shock, she doesn’t know what to do, how to feel, or what to say?” Kira spoke gently. “She pushed herself back, and I forward. I don’t enjoy being in this human body, mine is much better, and less weak.” She said.
“She’s only weak because of the suppressant, it should be out of her system soon.” Julius said. We’ve done a couple of blood transfusions and flushed her system a few times since she’s been here, but it’s still in her system. Should be out soon though, be out more if she’d come out, and eat and drink.” He added.
“She said she’s too angry, and upset.” Kira replied. “She said she’d come out if she can leave the hospital.” She added.
“She needs to be here. We need to be able to tend to her until she recovers.” Julius said.
“She can come to the castle, you know we have a ton of rooms, you can send some nurses to look after her.” I said.
Julius sighed,”Fine, but she needs to eat, and drink plenty of water, and rest, but she also needs to work out some. She needs to get stronger for Kira and her sake!” Julius said before going and getting some paperwork.
As he left Willow sat up, her eyes back to their beautiful color. I quickly hugged her close to me. “You had me scared dove, I didn’t think I’d see you again.” I said holding her close to me. Her scent was so calming, and her skin against mine made my world feel perfect.
“I-I didn’t mean to scare you Alister.” She said pulling me closer.
Her saying my name gave me goosebumps. “So, you ready to go home?” I asked standing to my feet.
She gave me a nod with a slight smile and stood to her feet. She was still wobbly, but I helped her walk out to the front desk and she signed herself out. Soon we were walking out the front door of the hospital and to the car that Jackson had pulled around to the front. Then we began our drive to the pack house.
