Chapter 3: Party

               The day went by fast and before we knew it, it was almost time to leave. Ciara and Leon came into my room smiling like little kids and trying not to giggle, sometimes they seemed like they were the twins and not me. “Are you guys ready?” I asked them “yeah” they both said in unison “Vanessa and Veronica are in their room waiting for us” Ciara smiled “great, let’s go get them.” The three of us took each other’s hands and just like that I teleported us to Vanessa’s room.

               Vanessa and Veronica were pacing back and forth in the room, they were probably nervous about sneaking out or worried about when we were going to show up. “Hey” I said smiling at them causing them both to jump. We laughed and soon they calmed down “why are you guys so jumpy?” Ciara asked them still giggling to herself “I was just remembering the last time we snuck out.”

               My blood ran cold when she said that; it was about last year, we decided to sneak out to go to party as well. Some kids decided that it would be fun to play around with silver and wolfsbane, some kids ended up being hurt, but that was nothing compared to what shadow did to us when we got back. She was so angry that we could have gotten hurt she and my mom had to leave for a couple of weeks to hunt, I had never seen so much bloodlust in her eyes that day. I’ve seen her feed when she’s angry and no one had seen her that angry before so I can’t even imagine what she did while she was gone.

               “We’ll just have to make sure we don’t get caught this time; we’ll keep an eye on our surroundings to make sure there’s nothing dangerous around that can hurt someone.” They all nodded in agreement. Soon after the last person we were waiting for showed up, Noah, Jack’s oldest “So are we ready or are we just going to stand around not doing s**t?” Leon said breaking the silence “yeah, let’s go” Noah smiled and said.

               We all held hands together, after concentrating on where I needed to go, I teleported us right outside of the portal. We walked inside and teleported to Romania where the party was going to take place. Once we had arrived at the other side everyone else was waiting for us; Logan who was Wesley’s son, Darnell and Robin who are Dominick and Raven’s kids, Kaden and Omar who are Odalis and Kage’s sons.

               We occasionally hung out with other’s too that are the kids of our parent’s friends but we weren’t as close with them as the ten of us were and so they were not here with us. “Finally! Do you guys know how long we’ve been waiting for you?” Robin complained, she was the youngest out of all of us and liked to be on time everywhere. “We’re only a few minutes late, besides it’s a party, no one shows up on time.” Veronica answered making Robin roll her eyes at her.

               “Ok guys, we’re here so let’s get partying!” Ciara yelled and everyone cheered, soon we were all walking towards the vampire mansion where the party was being held. As we were getting closer I could feel the energies from all the different creatures that were here. Even though it was still early, the party was in full swing, half the people here were already drunk, and the others had a drink in their hand. We headed to the kitchen to get a drink ourselves and join the rest of the people that were here.

               After a few drinks and what seemed like a few hours of being here, I was dragged to the dancefloor by some girls that had been eyeing me for a while. I was having a lot of fun, just getting lost in the moment when the most amazing smell hit me. Something stirred inside of me, and I couldn’t understand what this feeling was.

               I stopped dancing and started to follow the smell to where it was leading me “hey Derek are you ok man?” Logan came up to me and asked, “I don’t know man, I think my mate might be around here somewhere” “well congrats man, that’s great news, well don’t let me keep you from finding her.” He walked away and I started following the smell again, whoever this girl was smelled of roses and not finding her right away was driving me crazy.

               The smell led me all over the mansion, and just like that, her smell was gone. Whoever this chick was probably had no idea that I was her mate and that’s why she didn’t look for me as well. I was so upset about it that I didn’t even feel like continuing to party with my friends. I took my phone out of my pocket and sent them a message through our group chat -Hey guys I’m not feeling so good, I’m gonna head back home, you guys have fun- -Everything alright?- Vanessa asked through the chat -yeah, I’m just not feeling it, goodnight-

               I turned off my phone and teleported to my room, I went straight to my bed and laid down, the rest of the night I couldn’t sleep just thinking about what might have happened to my mate, who she is and what she looks like. I hope that I was able to find her soon, I hope that she shows up for the birthday party and Alpha celebration that we’re having, otherwise I will travel everywhere until I find her.
