Angie’s P.O.V

I like this girl, she won’t stand fools and cuts right to the chase. At any other time we could have maybe been friends, but I don’t think that will be happening after I have finished telling her everything I have to.

“Alright then, firstly my name is Angie and what I’m about to tell you is going to be hard for you to hear, you may not believe me, but I need to let you know a few things.” I said, taking a seat in front of her. She still had her hand on the gun, which I didn’t mind at first, but it made me a little cautious about how she was going to react to all this new information.

“Okay, the supernatural, werewolves, werecats, werebears, vampires, fairies, they are all real and I am one of them. I am a werewolf and I used to live in a pack, which is what werewolves do. They live in packs and have mates then have pups. There is a leader of a pack which is the Alpha and his mate is called the Luna, then there is the Beta, guards, warriors, fighters and other pack members. Most packs live peacefully, but there are some that want more power, land, members or they just want trouble. You are now a part of this because you are mated to Erick. He is a werecat and is your mate. I came here today to warn you because you are in danger.” I said, telling her about the supernatural and how things worked, but it was when I told her that she was in danger that her eyes widened, which confused me. I thought she would start asking me questions or something, but she remained quiet and gestured for me to continue.

“There is a man called Scott after you and he will stop at nothing to get you, so you need to be careful, May. he wants you as his and although I see that Erick has already marked you, Scott will do anything possible to cover that mark with his own. You need to let Erick know that you know about him and that you accept him as your mate. Don’t be scared of him, he is your mate and both he and his family will protect you. You see May, there is a whole new side of this life that you never knew about.” I said and May just sat there listening to me. Had she heard everything that I had just told her or was she in shock? I thought to myself as she remained still.

May’s P.O.V

I had kept my hand on the gun under my desk, but the more that Angie talked the more I loosened my grip, not seeing her as a threat. I already knew about the supernatural because even though I had never seen any of it I had read all about it and looked things up, so none of this was a surprise to me, but what did surprise me was when she said I was in danger. I continued to sit here listening to Angie and everything she had to say, then when she was finished I still remained quiet, processing everything that she had said about this man, Scott. She looked at me and I knew I was going to have to be honest with her.

“I’m sorry to inform you, but I already know about the supernatural. Granted I have never said a word to anyone and have never seen any of it, but I have read about it. I don’t want any drama, I don’t like drama and I plan to stay well out of it, so if this dipshit, whoever he is, wants to start s**t with me, then he’s got another thing coming. Tell him to bring it, now, if you excuse me I am going to do the last of the paperwork for today and then head out onto the floor.” I replied, but Angie just sighed. She may not agree with my choice, but I hoped that she would respect it.

“May, by me coming here and telling you all of this I have put myself in danger. I now have nowhere else to go.” Angie said, but just as I was about to reply Walter walked into my office with Susan following closely behind him.

Angie’s P.O.V

“You have a place to go now, you are going to join my pack and we will keep you safe. Welcome to The White River pack, your journey starts now, but you need to listen because I’m Alpha Walter, this is Luna Susan and we have rules that you either go by them or you stay a rogue.” Walter said and Angie nodded.

“Thank you, but I was never a rogue. I had a pack and a mate, but he took me from him and put his mark over that of my mates. When my mate found out he got into a fight with him and after Scott won my mate rejected me, thinking that I was sleeping with him, but I wasn’t. My mate never believed me, so I accepted his rejection and left with Scott, having no other choice. When I realised that he had done this before, I didn’t want to be with him, so he gave me the choice of helping him get her and then I can leave, but I won’t and can’t do that, I would rather live than die.” I replied and both Walter and Susan nodded, but they both looked sad, while May just sat there listening.

“Well, now you know about us, so what are you going to do with this information?” Luna Susan asked, but May just shook her head.

“Nothing, none of this is new to me. I’ve read about the supernatural and heard about it all my life, so I’m really not that scared. No, I have never seen it, but you all look just like me, a human so I don’t really understand why some people are so damn scared of it.” May said, making all of us look at her. Alpha Walter, Luna Susan and I all looked at each other and I knew that we were all thinking the same thing, that if May ever saw us shifting then she would know why humans are scared of us.

“Okay, just please do not tell Erick that you know about us just yet, let him tell you. It might take him a while, but let him tell you and once he does then he will show you, which is when you will realise why some humans are scared of us.” Alpha Walter said and all May did was nod.

“Fine, he will be coming over to pick me up and take me to his house after work. We’re just going to hang out and then he will bring me home, so I’ll ask him then if all of this is true. Now, if you’ll excuse me I have paperwork to do and Angie, it was nice to meet you.” May said, surprising us all. We walked out of her office and let May carry on with the work she was doing. Alpha Walter and Luna Susan took me to their office and told me the rules, then swore me into the pack and it felt great.

May’s P.O.V

I was so tired of all the secrets and I didn’t mean to be insensitive or anything like that, but what I had just heard sounded completely and utterly crazy to me, so I wanted no part of it. After they left my office I carried on with my paperwork and after everything was done I was ready to head home. When I left my office Angie was still here, standing next to the counter, but she looked really nervous, so I decided to go over and talk to her.

“Hey, are you alright? Do you need a lift anywhere?” I asked, but she shook her head.

“Hey, I’m good thank you, I’m just waiting for Alpha Walter and Luna Susan, they are giving me a lift to their pack.” Angie said and I nodded.

“Alright then, well, I’m headed out now, so goodbye, it was nice meeting you.” I said and she smiled as I started walking away from her. I drove home and went straight to the bathroom, taking a shower, drying off and getting dressed ready for when Erick came to pick me up. I was sitting on the couch, relaxing when I heard a knock on my door, causing a huge smile to come on my face as I walked over and opened the front door.

“Hey hun, are you ready?” Erick asked, then softly kissed my lips. I nodded and we left my house and got into his truck, going to his house. On the car ride there all I could think about was what Angie, Susan and Walter had said to me. Well, it's now or never, I thought to myself. I know what he is, but I want to hear it from his lips, so when we go up to his room I’m going to ask him and demand to know the truth. I honestly don’t see what is so scary about them, they are just like us, so what's the big deal? We drove through the same gates as before and drove round the curves of the driveway, but instead of parking at the front of his house we parked in the garage this time. Erick quickly got out and came round, opening my door and helping me out of his truck. We walked into the house and Hope and Rune were sitting in the family room.

“Hi there May, I’m really happy that you came back. Erick has been talking about you non stop.” Hope said, smiling at me. Rune started laughing and when I looked at Erick I saw that he had turned bright red.

“Now Hope, come on, let's not embarrass him right now, we can do plenty of that when we show her his baby photos.” Rune said, making me giggle. Erick grabbed my hand and quickly walked us out of the room, causing me to laugh all the way up the stairs to his room.

“You are never seeing those photos.” Erick said, shutting the door behind us. I started laughing even harder as he picked me up over his shoulders and threw me on the bed. I bounced a few times and carried on laughing, but I knew that I needed to get serious now. I wanted some answers and the only way I was going to get them was to ask the hard questions. I got up and sat on the edge of the bed, making Erick look at me funny. He must have known that there was something wrong, so he grabbed a chair and placed it in front of me, then sat down.

“Alright May, I know there is something wrong, so what is it because you don’t usually just go all quiet and sit on the edge of the bed being serious. Come on, you can talk to me, so what’s on your mind?” Erick asked and I took a deep breath, deciding it was best to just bluntly ask him.

“Listen, I know about the supernatural and I have read everything about it, so I know about mates and that this mark on my neck right here means that I’m your mate and that you marked me as yours.” I replied, looking at Erick, who was now wide eyed at my sudden explanation.

“Wh…how….how do you know about this?” Erick asked, still stunned. s**t, now I had to explain how I knew this and everything else from today. Maybe Walter and the others were right and I should have just let him tell me in my own time. Well, it’s too late now, so this really is now or never.
