Chapter 17 warning

Updated. Walter’s P.O.V I was waiting at the front desk for May to come into work, needing to pass on a message to her, but when she did the mark on her neck didn’t escape my attention. Had Erick told her everything and then marked her or had he just marked her? I thought to myself, but then shook my head. This was none of my business and she wasn’t a member of my pack, so there was no way I was going to stick my nose into this. “Hey May, a woman came into the store asking for you.” I said, stopping May before she got to the office. “A woman? Did she say who she was?” May asked, looking thoughtful. “She said she was your aunt and she was wondering when you would be here, so I told her later today.” I replied and May yet again looked thoughtful. “Thank you Walter, but my family don’t care about me or where I am. Hell, they don’t even know that I’m here, so when she comes back tell her I’m not here….no, better yet, I’ll come out and see who she is.” May replied and I nodded. May went into the office and I went off to find Susan. I found her after a few minutes and she had the same curious expression that I had when I was waiting to speak with May. “Did you tell her?” Susan asked and I nodded. “Yeah, I did, but she said her family doesn’t care about her and that they don’t even know where she is, so it’s got me on alert. We know that girl was a wolf, but what does she want with May?” I replied, but Susan shook her head. “I have no idea, but let's just hope that she isn’t coming to start drama or coming to try hurting May. I think it’s best if we get in touch with Alpha Rune and Luna Hope, let them know what’s going on. Also…” Susan said, but just then we heard shuffling, like someone was rushing to walk away from us. Susan and I both sniffed the air and knew right away that it was May, but now we had the question of how much did she hear? May’s P.O.V My aunt? Here? Impossible. There must be some mistake or something, I thought as I went into my office. I sat down and shuffled through the paperwork, but then I found some that needed Walter’s signature, so I quickly got back up and ran out of the office to find him. I was walking down one of the aisles and that’s when I heard part of the conversation Walter and Susan were having. I didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but when I heard the words wolf and that they were going to be contacting Alpha Rune and Luna Hope about it, I decided it might be best that I didn’t interrupt them, so I headed back to the office. The paperwork would just have to wait until he was done talking because whatever it was I didn’t want to be in the middle of it. It did however make me even more curious as to who the woman who claimed to be my aunt was and what she wanted to see me about. I hadn’t seen or spoken to my aunts after my parents had died because all they wanted was money and when they learned it was all left to me they were pissed off and stopped talking to me for years. I haven’t heard from any of them since the day the will was read out, not even my cousins bothered to keep in touch with me, so why should I bother with any of them? It does make me wonder what the woman wanted and if she is my aunt then which one is she? Oh screw it, even if she does come back she would just have to leave because there was no way I was letting any of them into my life. I carried on working through the paperwork, reading and replying to emails, placing orders and I was so lost in my computer that I didn’t hear until someone banged hard on my door. “May, are you alright? I’ve been knocking for a few minutes now.” Walter said, coming into my office. “Yes, sorry, I was so focused on all this that I kinda blocked everything out. What can I help you with?” I replied and Walter just nodded, but he looked worried. “She’s here, the woman who said she was your aunt is back.” Walter replied, making my head shoot back up to him. I stood up, walked out from behind my desk and out of my office onto the shop floor, holding my head high and wanting nothing more than to get this over and done with. Angie’s P.O.V I went to the store where she worked and the male wolf told me to come back later, that she would be there then, but the whole time I could sense he was suspicious of me. I couldn’t really blame him because I was acting suspiciously, especially when I called myself her aunt. He would have sensed that I was a wolf right away, but she was human, so I knew that he wouldn’t ask her about it. When I left the store I went to a diner nearby and grabbed something to eat and drink while I tried to figure this out. This was going to be hard and it wasn’t like I could come right out and tell her she was in danger, could I? How the hell am I going to do this? How can I tell a human that she is in danger without scaring her to death? I sighed as I ate and drank, but the more I thought about it the more I realised that there was no easy way to do this. After a couple of hours I went back to the store and the same man was there, so I decided to speak with him again, hopefully showing him that I wasn’t a threat. “Hello, is she here yet?” I asked and he nodded, but gave me a funny look. “Yes, I’ll just go and get her, wait here.” He replied, looking suspiciously at me again. I nodded and stayed where I was, while he went to a door and knocked. No one answered, so he knocked again and a few minutes later he was banging on the door. Was she in there? I thought to myself and then he opened the door and popped his head in. I heard two people talking, but I didn’t bother listening to what they were saying and then the man stepped back and she came out of the office. My mouth dropped open when I saw her because although I had been watching her from afar, this was the first time I had really seen her this close and she was beautiful. She was holding her head high and she seemed so confident when she walked out onto the shop floor and straight up to me. The male wolf that had gotten her was now standing a few feet away from us, but he was still watching us, which made me a little nervous. I went to start speaking, but before I could she started talking. “My name is May and I was told you wanted to see me, well I need you to listen to me because if you’re here for money then I don’t have any, so try getting a job.” She said and I was a little taken back at first, but quickly recovered. “I’m not here for money, can we go someplace and talk in private please. There’s something I need to talk to you about.” I asked, almost pleading with her. She looked a little hesitant at first, but then she nodded and turned. “We can talk in my office, follow me.” She replied and I nodded. I walked behind her as we went into her office and she closed the door behind us. “Right then, I know you’re not my kin and I have never seen you before, so you have ten minutes to tell me why you’re here and what the hell you want from me because I’m not stupid. So ten minutes starting now. Tick tock…” She said and again I was a little taken back by her words. Why did she say that outside when she knew we weren’t related? Why did she agree to talk to me when she knew? “Alright, but you are going to need to sit down while I talk to you. I have a lot to tell you and not all of it is going to be easy to hear.” I replied and she just shrugged as she sat down behind her desk. “Alright then, two minutes have passed, time is ticking, so get on with it.” She said and I chuckled. I watched as she reached under her desk and then she relaxed a little when she found whatever it was she was looking for, but then I heard a click and I knew right away what it was. A pistol. She was pointing a gun at me under her desk for protection. Smart girl.
