chapter 22

Updated. May’s P.O.V When I woke up the sun was shining brightly on my face, making me smile because I loved how warm it felt on my skin and how it woke me up. I could hear the birds chirping outside and I could also hear the guys working hard on whatever they were doing. I rolled over and reached for Erick, but was surprised to find that he wasn’t there and in his place was a piece of paper. I picked up the paper and saw that it was a note from Erick. Good morning sunshine, hope you slept well. Meet me outside when you are ready so you can check out the house. Erick. I quickly shot out of bed and went straight to the bathroom, doing my business and taking a quick shower before drying off and going back into the bedroom. I got dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, then put my trainers on and put my hair up into a ponytail. I walked downstairs and out the front door of the house, passing the gardens on my way. I couldn’t wait to pick some veggies and cook them up. I was going to surprise everyone today and cook my stuffed biscuits. I walked around the house and saw a few people in the distance, who looked like they were wrestling or something and there were others that were standing to the side that looked like they were instructing them. It looked pretty cool, maybe I could try it as soon as I get done looking at the house. When I got to the house I started looking around and walking around it to see what they had done and I wasn’t disappointed. I loved how they had built the back on and there was now a huge porch that you could sit on and relax, plus the steps were so wide that you could easily walk up and down them, with the help of the handrails that were on either side of them. I looked up and saw that there were two huge windows either side of the double back door. I loved how it looked and when I walked around the front of the house I loved how that looked as well. The porch was wider and there was a porch swing on one side and on the other was a small round table and two chairs on either side of it. I loved how it all looked so much that I couldn’t stop my heart from beating faster with happiness and excitement. “Do you want to come in and take a look around?” Erick asked, walking out of the house and smiling at me. “Definitely.” I replied, walking up the steps and into the house. I went to the living room first and was surprised to see that the couches were brand new and there was a bigger TV mounted on the wall. My next stop was the kitchen which was now a lot bigger and even had a huge dining room coming off it. I walked into the bedroom and saw that it was bigger as well and I loved what they had done with it, but it needed painting. “We left that up to you. We didn’t want to decorate it because we knew that you would want to decide on the colours, but we have made sure that nothing is broken and all the plumbing, gas and electricity works.” Erick said and I nodded, smiling as I began to pick the colours in my head. I walked into the bathroom and I loved what they had done with that as well. There was a bigger bathtub and shower, as well as the toilet and sink, but the way they had moved it around made everything seem bigger. They really did work fast with this. “I love everything that all of you have done and you’ve done a wonderful job in this place. Thank you, thank you so much.” I said, turning and throwing my arms around him, hugging him tightly. “You’re welcome, I’m just glad that you’re happy with it. I must admit I was nervous about what your reaction was going to be to all the work we did on it.” Erick replied and I shook my head. “No, I love it, you did amazing. I do have a question that doesn’t concern this. I saw some of your family wrestling around, but why were they doing that?” I asked and he started to laugh. “That’s the training grounds and they weren’t wrestling around, they were training. They were sparring against each other and the trainer was telling them what to do. Come on, let's go watch for a few minutes and if you want to try then we will let you try it.” Erick replied and we both walked out of the house and over to what he called the training grounds. We stood there and watched everything that was going on and I saw two guys sparring against each other, they were punching and kicking the s**t out of each other, then one guy flipped the other and did a round kick, making the guy fly backwards and land on his back. “Damn, I could do that, but would they let a human spar against one of them?” I asked Erick, but just as I did a man, who I assumed was the trainer, looked up at me and smiled. “Hello future Alpha and Luna, I’m Bobby, the trainer. Would you like to try and spar against one of the females?” The man I now knew as Bobby asked, looking at me and I shrugged a little. “Sure, I’ll give it a shot.” I replied and he nodded. Bobby turned around and gestured to one of the females to come over to us. “Railey, can you come here please.” Bobby said and this bulky girl stepped forward. “Railey, this is May, Alpha Erick’s mate and our future Luna. May, this is Railey.” Bobby said, introducing us and I watched how she was looking right at Erick with a flirty smile. She looked at me, smirking and I sighed, knowing that this was yet another female that wanted Erick. “Alright, well let's do this.” I said, wanting to put her in her place like I did the other skank that attacked me. “Alright then, just follow Railey’s moves and let's go from there, okay. May, I want you to try and do a round kick and a punch. Railey is going to try and block you, then do the same to you. Are you ready?” Bobby asked as Railey and I stood face to face. “Let's do this.” Bobby said after both Railey and I had nodded. I didn’t know what combination I wanted to do, a roundhouse kick and then a punch or the other way round, so I thought I would catch her off guard or at least try to. Railey’s P.O.V This is just great, this is my chance to show what I’m made of and prove that I’m better. Of course I will go easy on her at first, she is the future Luna after all, so for the first few minutes I’ll go easy and then I’ll just kick her ass. I am so ready for this and then Erick will see that she is weaker than me and that I’ll be the better Luna. I started to circle May like a cat on the prowl, then I jumped at her, making her flinch a little before I ran forward. It was a bit of a mistake on my part and I underestimated her as she swung and punched me right between the eyes and then flipped, kicking me square in the jaw. I tried to shake it off, but before I could May had flipped once more and kicked me in the stomach, then flipped back doing a roundhouse kick and making me fly back. “Damn, Caroline wasn’t lying, this b***h is stronger than they think she is.” I muttered to myself as I stood up and brushed myself off. “My turn.” I said, nodding at her. We went at it punching and kicking, but when we were finally done we were both laughing. “Good job both of you. Railey, thanks for not hitting her face, she doesn’t need to be bruised up like that. May, you did an awesome job keeping up with Railey, not many can keep up with her.” Bobby said and I watched as Erick beamed with pride for his mate. They really did look good together and if anything I knew that Erick would be taken care of, even if he would have his hands full at times, but she was worthy of him and I was happy about that. Hopefully May and I could be friends. May’s P.O.V “You did wonderful. I’m so proud of you, but how did you learn to fight like that?” Erick asked, worried that I knew those moves and what I would need to use them for. “Let’s go inside and I’ll tell you my story.” I said and I could see how he was instantly worried. We walked hand in hand back into the house and sat in the family room, but the whole time I felt slightly nervous and I didn’t mean it to, but I could tell that it only made Erick even more worried. “Okay, well er, living with my family wasn’t easy and you had to learn to protect yourself because you would never know when one of them would get a wild hair up their ass and try to beat the hell out of you for it. My family and I don’t get along, but after my parents died things just got worse and one of them even came up from behind me and tried to knock me out, so they could take the briefcase that was in my hands. Thankfully I saw their shadow in time and turned around, hitting them with it and after that they never tried again. I took classes to learn how to fight. It’s the only thing I have known how to do most of my life and I always had to keep my eyes on them because you never knew what they would try to do next.” I said and Erick sat there listening to me. “I have to admit I don’t like your family at all, especially as we were raised to never fight with our family, not unless it was something serious, but even then it was always taken to the boxing ring and settled once and for all. We would slug it out, but we always ended up shaking hands or hugging at the end of it.” Erick replied and I sat there laughing and shaking my head. This was all new to me and it was still a little weird, but I wouldn’t want to be this, not unless I had to and if I didn’t have to then I wasn’t going to. No offence to the supernatural and all, but the sound of breaking bones and shifting of their bodies looked like it would hurt like a b***h and besides, I am somewhat strong, so I don’t think I need all this protection, especially now that I don’t have to deal with my family anymore. There was only one thing that I was still slightly nervous about and that was rogues, but I still had yet to meet one to know if they were really as bad as everyone said they were. I mean couldn’t there be good rogues as well?
