May’s P.O.V
I stood beside Erick as Hope explained everything that had happened, from the human killings to the theory of what was causing them. So far they had guessed it was what they called rogues, but they also said that humans called them mutts, due to them not following the rules of the supernatural, like everyone else here and also because they were able to be controlled. I only knew a little about them from what Susan, Walter and Angie told me about them, but as this conversation went on I found that I was even less eager to meet one in real life, especially when I was on my own.
“Whoever it is, whatever it is, we need to find him or her and then get rid of them, even if that means killing them. I know this is a lot for you to take in and I imagine that it's a lot different than what you are used to back home, but we fight for our families and friends.” Hope said and I had to sit down and take a few minutes to myself as I processed what she had just said. They were freely talking about killing someone and although it would seem a harsh punishment, I understood why it had to be done, especially as whoever was doing this had already killed five people. I looked up and saw that everyone was already looking at me, probably wondering how I was coping with all this, but honestly I was fine.
“So what do we need to do to get rid of this problem?” I asked and they all looked at me stunned.
“You’re my family, I’m not going anywhere and I’m not going to hide. Erick, you warned me of the dangers and I understood what I was getting into, so what do we need to do and don’t tell me I’m just a human and I’ll get hurt. Yes, I might get hurt and yes, I’m a human, but as you all have noticed I can take care of myself when need be. I want to help, so please let me help. Where do we need to start? Where do we need to start looking and who do we start looking for?” I asked and everyone in the room chuckled.
“It seems we have a fighting future Luna on our hands. You’re a strong one and I am honoured that you are my son's mate. Welcome to the pack, May.” Rune said, nodding in approval and making me smile.
“Thank you.” I replied, smiling.
“So what do we do, how do we start and by the way dinner is done.” Hope asked, making us all start laughing at how she just threw that in there.
“Alright, well first things first, let's go eat and then after we have done that we can get down to it.” Rune said, shaking his head and kissing Hope on the cheek.
Unknown Mutt/Rogue’s P.O.V
I have been in this town for just over a week now and the one that bit me had left. The others say that once I killed a human that he would come back and get me, so I could live with them and maybe even find a mate, whatever the hell that is. I don’t want a mate, I had plenty of friends before this, so why would I want any more? All I want is a home and to stop killing, but the hunger is so much, so painful at times that I can’t control it and I love the taste of humans. I hid behind a building on the outskirts of the woods and watched my next target, knowing that no one would miss her. After all, who is going to go looking for a street walker? I waited for a few minutes and then walked up to her in my human form, then turned her around to face me.
“Are you looking for a good time, handsome?” She asked and I chuckled.
“Sure, let's go somewhere no one will see us.” I replied and she eagerly nodded. I led her behind the building and into the woods, making her walk further so that she would be too tired. Too tired to defend herself, too tired to run and I knew that when I shifted she would fall. I could always give her a running start because the chase is always fun, especially when I’m bored, I thought to myself as we stopped in the middle of the woods. She gave me a price which was easy enough and I agreed. I pulled her skirt up and bent her over, doing her from behind and when we were both finished we got dressed. I wasn’t insensitive to not let her finish, especially as this would be the last time, well, for her at least. She went to walk away from me with the money and I quickly grabbed her and pulled her close to me, surprising her.
“Do you want to play a game?” I asked, not caring if she said yes or no because I was still going to get my way, but the look in her eyes told me she would.
“What sort of game?” she asked, making me smile.
“A game of chase. You run deeper into the woods and I come find you, if you win, you keep the money and I give you more, but if you lose then I take my money back.” I said and she rolled her eyes at me.
“Do I get a head start? You men are always sneaky.” She said, making me chuckle a bit. How stupid could this woman be?
“Yeah, I’ll give you a twenty second head start.” I replied and she smiled before turning and taking off running. I laughed and then started to shift, knowing she would be easy to catch. I started running and caught up to her in no time at all, but when she saw me she started screaming. The noise was shrill and was getting on my nerves, but I expected her to scream after seeing a big grey wolf with hungry red eyes chasing after her. She started running faster, so I slowed my pace and then I saw her trying to hide behind a big oak tree. She must have thought she was hiding good, but I smelled and saw her. I growled and she started running again, but I noticed that she didn’t have a clue where she was going. I caught up to her in a matter of seconds and knocked her down. She tried to scream, but I grabbed her throat in my jaws and tore it out, killing her right away. I had my fill as I ate her stomach out and then I ripped her limbs off and left her there, knowing the other animals would feed on her as well. I ran back to where I had f****d her and shifted back into my human form, grabbed my clothes and got dressed. I smirked knowing that no one had seen me, but then I smelled other wolves out here and it made my smirk vanish. They will find her soon enough, so I’ll come back out in the morning and see what is out here, but that’s for tomorrow, right now I need to get out of here before someone sees me. I made it back to the outskirts of the woods when my wolf suddenly spoke to me.
“You need to turn yourself in, you know the other wolves are going to get us if they catch us. I heard it's against the rules and we must be careful, Gordon. If others find you we are both dead.” He said, making me sigh.
“Well, we won’t be dead if the person who promised us a home would come back.” I replied and heard him huff in my head.
“Yeah, but we can always eat something other than humans, we’re going to get busted one day and when that happens it's not going to be pretty.” My wolf said, pissing me off.
“Will you shut up already, we’re not going to get busted. Now shut up will you, so I can rent a room for tonight. I don’t need to be talking to the person behind the desk and have you bitching and moaning in my head at the same time.” I replied and he went silent.
Gordon’s Wolf’s P.O.V
I had been constantly praying to the Moon Goddess to put me in another human, someone that is good and not a disgrace like this one was, but so far I hadn’t been given an answer. I could only shake my head and sigh, hoping that my human would finally decide to eat something else besides humans. I didn’t like the taste of them, even though my human did. I liked the taste of rabbits and deer, but never humans.
