Beta's Chosen

Chapter 6

Pearl's POV

Trevor drives us back to our pack again. And the day just cannot be better. He likes me. He freaking told me that he likes me! No one has ever told me that. Forget about the mate I have never cared. Maybe I did. But he didn't pay me attention.

"Mike doesn't know what he lost" I hear Trevor say.

"Micah!" I correct him with a smirk.

"Yeah. Whoever he is. He doesn't know what he lost" he says again.

I smile looking at the view through the window. This really have to be the best day of my life. Who knew, that one day.. a Beta from another pack is going to come to my life and sweep me off my feet. I am totally in love with him, but I am still not sure if that is love what he feels.

"What's your pretty little head thinking there?" He asks me to which I smile again and shake my head.

We reach our pack in no time and I get down the car with a bright smile. Camila is already there and she smiles with suspicion.

"What did I just see?" She asks.

"A friendly breakfast we had at human land" I say and she narrows her eyes at me.

"You can straight up tell me he took you out on a date" she smirks.

I really cannot help the pink rushing to my cheeks anymore. Trevor is talking to Maxwell and I take Camila's hand. We walk away and I tell Camila everything that happened yesterday and today.

"Oh my God.! And you didn't even tell me??" Camila squeals.

I smile and shush her. We already got a few eyes on us. But a look from Camila, and they all resume doing whatever they were doing earlier. To the people, she is still the Luna. Just not for Maxwell.

"So what are you planning to do? The next Beta Female of The Sundown Pack?" She asks me and I shrug.

I am not sure of that. I mean, we are just starting into the into each other thing. So I am not sure of how it works.

"Cami!" Maxwell calls for her.

"Owwww!!" we both exclaim and then smile and chuckle at each other.

The way he called, people would definitely fall for it. Everyone would think Maxwell loves Camila too much. That's how he just called her... Cami! Ow!

Camila walks to Maxwell. Trevor and his Alpha are there as well. I see Trevor give back the car keys to Austin followed by a hug. They start talking about something and I just know I don't belong to that conversation.

I silently walk away and walk to my home. I do not want to come off as clingy and in desperate need of his attention. I can meet him at the evening.

I take another short nap. My head still aching a little.

I wake up to the door banging and I open with my eyes still half closed. I see Camila and smile tilting my head. She walks in and I fall on my bed again.

"The Sundown Pack is leaving tonight" she says and all the sleep I had jumps out of the window.

I am completely sobered up and I look at Camila. Is she serious or does she just want me to get out of the bed?

"You cannot be serious! They are supposed to leave tomorrow!" I say and she shakes her head.

"No! They are leaving tonight. You know how it is to a pack when their Alpha is away" she says and I nod.

When the Alpha and Beta are away for days, it calls for attacks and chaos. I understand. But this sudden news just threw me off a Little bit.

"Get dressed. Tonight's party is going to be bigger than yesterday" she says and I nod.

"And dress something sexy. Trevor will not be able to keep his hands off you" she smirks and I throw a pillow at her.

She laughs as she walks away. I close my door and hop into the shower. I absolutely did not know I slept through the afternoon. It is already evening. Weirdly, I am not that hungry too.

I throw on the only dress I have. It runs up to my knees and hugs my curves. Yellow fabric with black lace designs here and there, Camila brought this when she visited Silver Salt Pack once. The most powerful pack you'll ever witness.

I curl my hair just a little. I apply light makeup and walk out. My mother checks me out twice but I don't answer her. I walk outside and towards the party and everyone checks me out twice. Especially my pack members. I don't care till I reach there and I see Trevor talk to someone.

I sit on the rock and wait for him to notice. It takes him half an hour to finish talking to someone of his pack and he finally meets my eyes. He takes in my appearance and walks towards me.

"You look stunning!" He says as he checks me out again.

Pink creeps up my cheeks again and I cannot help but blush as I stare at my hands on my lap. I don't know how to deal with compliments so I don't know what to say right now.

"Thanks" I whisper and he sits beside me.

"Heard you're leaving tonight" I whisper again and he looks at me.

He nods and looks at the party again.

"Our pack needs us. We need to leave" he says and I nod.

"I am the pack's warrior. I understand how it works" I say and he smiles again.

He offers me a beer and I take that. I realised I like beer. Or maybe the company. I am not sure. But I slowly take sips and tap my feet to the music.

"What next?" I ask him and he just stares at me.

"Go with the flow?" He asks me back.

Now how am I supposed to know what he means by that? What is go with the flow? He places his hand on my thigh and I feel butterflies in my stomach.

"Let the fate help us meet again" he smiles and I nod.

He slowly moves his hand up my thigh and I shiver under his touch. Just as he is about to inch closer to my private part, I close my eyes making him laugh and place his hand on my waist.

When his Alpha notices it, Trevor takes his hand away from my waist. Trevor raises his hands into the air as if he is surrendering and I smile at that.

We just keep talking and talking and talking until it is time for them to leave. Trevor quickly pulls me to the side where we have a little privacy. He places his lips on mine and kisses me fiercely. I respond to his kiss and he pulls away for some air. Seconds later, his lips are on my neck again. Just above my breasts. His hands roaming all over my body. I never knew my body was worthy of this much.

"Godd! I can never get enough of you" he whispers and I smile still feeling lost in the ecstatic feeling.

"Trevor! Where the f**k are you??" I hear his Alpha's voice.

"You must leave before he trails you by your scent" I say and he nods.

"When we meet again, I am not letting you go" he whispers with his forehead against mine.

My heart explodes yet again. I did not know I could be hearing someone say this and I suddenly like my life. He places a tiny peck on my lips and turns away. But he comes back again and kisses me.

I smile when he nods and leaves. I fall on the ground and smile wide.

I see them shift into their wolves but one brown wolf is just staring at me. I know it must be Trevor. The brown wolf nods once and with his pack, he takes off.

I wonder when are we going to meet again.
