Vera after that display her mate shown felt disappointed and betrayed so she stayed quiet in her room thinking about just so many things, she was internally going insane and her mate was displaying every act of disloyalty she doesn’t want to see in him.
“Vera, I’m sorry…but believe me I am not hiding anything from you…maybe few things but believe me it was for our own good” Vera despite hearing this was quite, yeah her mate lied to her but she wasn’t sure the queen wasn’t right herself. Vera kept her cool nonetheless for several more minutes before one of the demons nodded on their door. Claus immediately turned to get the door where a demon claimed she had news. Vera pulled her emotions together and set out for the court room where a dying demon stood in the middle.
“My queen, it’s such an honour to meet you” The demon who had a porcupine shape immediately paid his respect to Vera who nodded and walked to her throne where she sat comfortably even though she wasn’t so comfortable.
“I heard you got something for me” Vera spoke and the demon nodded.
“Right at the outskirt of Los Angeles…we heard there had been very recent angel sighting around a young girl so we went to investigate but then everyone that ever left with me died, a sudden powerful aura that just happened, it wasn’t there before…it was like it was masked. I don’t understand how that was possible but it was so powerful that every demons around cower in fear it was as if the dead angel king Kyrios arouse from the dead and all the demons closer to a particular area died from just her aura and I felt it too, when I tried to get even close I felt my body boil, it was like the blood in me where killing me” Vera sighed softly and turned to Claus.
“Is this your doing? To make me believe Angelique was alive? Seriously Claus; I thought by now you would have learnt your lesson and put an end to this madness, what are you so afraid of about Angelique that’s pushing you this far!” Vera raged while Claus jaw dropped in shock and surprise.
“You think I plotted this, Vera I do not even know this demon. I haven’t even heard what he was saying before, is this how deep your distrust runs? How could you-
“Well I trusted you but you broke that trust-
“Vera listen, this demon seems to be telling the truth and I don’t even know where he got it from but at least let us verify if what he’s saying is right?” Claus tried to persuade but once Vera is mad she doesn’t really think straight.
“So you can scheme again and make me believe what you’re saying is actually true, well that sound pretty convincing-
“Vera, I know I have done a horrible thing by keeping some things from you but then, I did it for us, and it has nothing to do with any decision I made. Vera give this demon a chance, what if he’s actually telling the truth you would blame yourself for this” Claus tried harder to sound more persuasive but it wasn’t convincing as Vera had made up her mind not to hear another word from her obsessed mate.
“Enough of this nonsense!” Vera snapped loudly, her eyes briefly glinting blue.
“I would hear none of it no more” With that she made a hand gesture that immediately have the demon snapping her neck.
“If you have more pressing matters you know where to find me” With that Vera rose to her feet and walked off angrily leaving Claus staring at the dead body of the demon informant who brought news as it slowly disintegrated.
Vera immediately after walking into her room slammed the door angrily feeling an immense amount of anger filled her up. Her demon side surfaced and she started to feel her skull itch, then she started to scratch and the more she scratch the more relief the find and the more she felt something grow underneath her hair.
“The queen was right, my demon side is getting dominant” With that the princess moved over to the mirror to see her growing horns. Vera out of anger stormed to the queen’s room but the room was empty, her brows furrowed and she looked around only to find her sitting at the other side of the bed looking out to the setting sun with sadness visible and tears strolling down her eyes, those instantly flicked off what has been flicked on inside her during the short but brief meeting with the demon who had tried to trick her.
“What is this?” The queen flinched at the tone of her voice and immediately wiped her eyes clean.
“What are you doing here?” The queen demanded glaring at Vera who was still trying to understand her reaction earlier but she just doesn’t seem to get it.
“Were you crying? I don’t remember doing anything to you yet. You just wait till after my coronation how you and your daughter would cry for the pain that you have caused me. Angelite scoffed and studied Vera very carefully.
“You’re not the only one who has lost something Vera? That I’m certain of” Vera then realised the queen must be thinking about her child or children, as powerful as she was…thinking of powerful, her binds have been removed and she was certain, well she heard the queen had gotten weaker since she left.
“How’s the throne treating you by the way, since…uneasy is the head that wears a crown…I believe you are beginning to know what that means now-
“You knew the throne would reject me?” Vera felt astonished by Angelite’s words that it started to creep her out.
“The throne was relinquished the throne to me right before he died, for anyone to sit on it I would have to do that as well and I have not done that” The queen smiled.
“Well you would right now?” Vera’s eyes grew dark.
“And why in the world would I even do that?” Angelite laughed looking into Vera’s eyes. Vera noticed there was something really different about the queen.
“I let you take the city because I wanted you to Vera-
“No, because I outnumbered you; we ceased the city because we won the battle fear and square” Vera’s tail was now growing as she speaks.
“Did you really? There’s a lot you have no idea of Crystal…a lot of things that’s not within your knowledge-
“And you would tell me, after all my venom is lethal and only me has the antidote” Vera smiled diving her metastoma for the queen vanished and appeared right behind her.
“Like I said, I let you take my city because I wanted you to…and also, you lose your leverage on me when you killed my child, pregnant angels are weak as their child is channelling their power for life, after all we aren’t really supposed to have children and still be alive in the first place-
“What?” Vera frowned.
“Like I side, there’s a lot you don’t know about being an angel…you can never be an angel, you can never truly become a demon too…because there’s still a pure form in you…you will have to kill a pure soul before you fully become an angel only then will you have the chance to become full demon, and only then will your powers be gone and only then will I kill you without any regrets-
“You” Vera fumed and Angelite laughed.
“I am 350years old Vera; what were you expecting that you can simply keep me here without my control, oh love with me being pregnant I could have actually gotten out if I wanted to but I didn’t
Because I haven’t quite gotten what I was looking for-
“I will kill you” Vera bared her claws and fangs trying to run for the queen but she was too damn smart. So she vanished again and appeared right behind her.
“You can never truly catch light” Vera’s jaw dropped.
“And thank you for your hospitality this whole while of having me trapped in here” The queen on saying that made Vera smile and relax a little.
“What was I even thinking? Trying to catch you should be easy. After all I still have your mate and your ally’s captive and don’t worry by poison will soon be running through their veins” Vera smiled and the queen cackled.
“Do you though? Do you still have them at your mercy; I mean what are you thinking? I can travel through light Vera” The queen smiled and Vera felt her heart raced in her chest and all of a sudden the queen was right in front of her hands on her chest as she briefly closed her eyes and before she could strike her down; she vanished…but this time, completely.
