Yukino laid on her back her eyes staring at the ceiling while her mind recounted the conversation she just held with her parents.
“You have a choice, either go to school next year or be trained to become an adventurer until you’re sixteen, then you’ll attend the final two years of school. You don’t have to answer right away. we’ll let you think about it.
Yukino knew it was coming, Taiyo, her brother, also had to choose one after his awakening ceremony. Yukino didn’t want to go back to school again. She had finally gotten rid of the necessary evil years ago in her past life but now she had to attend it again, even if it’s two years. Granted, the materials being learned were different, but it’s school nevertheless.
Even before they asked the question though she knew she wanted to go the adventuring path, even if it runs the risk of dying.
In her past life, it had been her dream to travel the world. Going to places such as Egypt and China. Adventurers managed to travel a lot as well since it comes with the job, besides Yukino had already learned the basic of the world and knowing that each land masses had places like her previous world it just made her want to do it more.
Yukino nevertheless couldn’t tell her parents that straight up because she knew, deep down, that she was afraid to die. Death was scary. It is frightening, there is a reason so many try to avoid it. Not only that, she wasn’t sure if her parent would actually let her. They were very protective and probably wouldn’t even want to see a scratch on her.
Letting out a sigh she fiddled with Kami, flipping through the pages.
“Should I become an adventurer?” She asked out loud.
[It’s up to you.] Kami replied.
“Do you think it’ll be a good idea? What if I...”
[You won’t. I won’t let you.]
Yukino let out a sigh. “Thank you.” Then silence enveloped the room.

“Your highness.” Yukino felt a hand gently shaking her as a familiar voice called to her.
“Let me sleep a bit longer,” Yukino groaned, swatting away the hand like how she would swat away a fly.
“His highness, Taiyo, is about to leave.” That slightly woke Yukino. Sitting up with another groan, she looked up to Hisashi.
“You’re back.” She said, “Late.” Hisashi smiled.
“I got held back.” He said starting to explain but Yukino just smiled and patted his head.
“It’s good to have you back.”

Yukino hugged her brother, while saying farewell and telling him to come back soon. Taiyo smiled and assured the young girl he wasn’t getting married thus he has no reason to not come back.
Sharing one last embrace, Taiyo pulled back and leaned in to her ears.
“It’s okay to become an adventurer.” Yukino shot her brother a look of surprise which he only smiled to, “I’m your brother, I’ve been with you for a long time, I can certainly tell what your thinking Yuki.” Yukino smiled as her brother patted her head and got into the carriage.
