Blaze’s POV It was barely 7am and I was up already. I definitely didn’t know what I was getting into when I decided to pretend to be one of the maids. I was given a maid’s uniform which was going to help me blend in perfectly. The only problem was my hair. The color of my hair was unique to only my wolf and the moment anyone sees it, they would instantly know who I really am. I take out a scarf from one of the bags I see under my assigned bed and wrap around my head tightly, leaving no space for them to see even a strand of my rare red hair. “What are you doing? We need to do clean the palace.” The same lady who had brought me in knocks on my door. “Coming.” I yell and head out. I would finally get a chance to go into the palace. That is exactly what I want. All I need is to get close to the king or any of his trusted men and find out what their next plan is. I will also use this opportunity to find out where my mother my mother is being kept. We walk past numerous guards and ladies who wore similar clothes to mine. No one spared us a second look as we walked. It was as though we were insignificant to them. I was really happy about this because it meant that my disguise was working perfectly. “You’ll handle the prince’s room, dear. I don’t want you going into Fredrick’s room. That young man sleeps with every maid he lays his eyes on.” She tells me and I gag inwardly. I had no idea who this person was but I definitely don’t want to have anything to do with him. “Yes ma’am.” I tell her and she turns to leave. Now, I had no idea where the prince’s room was located but I couldn’t risk letting her know that. To her, I’ve been working here for quite sometime so I’m to know the location of the prince’s room, at least. “This is one huge palace, Anika. How do we find his room?” I ask my wolf. I was starting to panic as I looked around. Everyone was busy with their activities while I just stood, looking confused as hell. Looking suspicious is the last thing I want right now. “Ask around, Blaze. This is one big palace. I doubt all the maids are familiar with every part of this place.” Her voice booms in my head and I nod. There was a male worker, walking briskly towards the hallway I just passed and I stop him, putting my hand out. “Uhhmm… hello.” I greet, he seems pissed but the second he looks at me, his expression softens and he waits. “Can you show me to the prince’s room. I am little lost.” I say, sounding like a typical girl. There was something about women being helpless that made every man feel like a man. It is almost like we ladies are supposed to be helpless and depend on them for everything. I definitely am not like that but right now, I need his help. “Well, hello. Are you new here?” He asks, his eyes scanning my features and I want to punch his jaw so much but I hold it in. I’ll get another chance to show him. “Yeah. I just started yesterday and I can’t seem to find my way around. Do you think you can help me?” I ask and he smirks, completely forgetting about whatever it is he was meant to be doing. “Sure. What’s your name?” He asks, leading me to the other side of the palace where the prince’s room is probably located. I immediately search my head for a name to tell him since I was definitely not revealing my real name here. The only name that crosses my mind is the wolf’s name, so I give him that. “Anika. You can call me Annie though.” What the f**k is wrong with me? There was a pretentious smile on my face as I lied to his face, trying to look as friendly as possible. It seems to be working as he returns the smile with a toothy grin, his body shifting closer to mine for some messed up reason. “This is the prince’s room.” He points to the last door at the end of the hallway and I nod. I am about to leave when he grabs be my arm and whispers into my ears. “We could meet up after you’re done for the day. I have a personal room here.” He says with a wink and walks away. If it wasn’t for my wolf that kept giving me reasons why I shouldn’t break his bones, he would have been on the floor in a pool of his own blood. I place a faint knock on the door before going in. Much to my disappointment, the room was empty which meant that the prince wasn’t around. I really wanted to see this prince and probably get close to him, use him to find out most of their secrets and kill him in the end. After everything they did to my people, it would be generous of me to let him live another day. His room was unnecessarily big. Unnecessary because I had to clean it up. I am here as a maid but I am no maid! I do not know how to do things like this as I have never done them my whole life. I was always busy training for battle. But this needed to be done if I were to keep my spot here, so , I start wiping the tables. Less than ten minutes into that chore, the door knob turns, indicating that someone was here. The prince is probably back. There is a smirk on my face as I continue to busy myself with the chore. The footsteps grow louder and soon, there is a figure behind me. “Good morning, My prince. I was assigned to your room.” I greet and raise my head to get a proper look at his face but I am met with the overly familiar face of Reese. The shock on my face is intense and he has the same look on his face. “What are you doing here? Are you stalking me?” I ask with red eyes. He just had to be because there was no other reason for him to be in here. Unless… “I should be asking you that again, Blaze. What are you doing in my room?” He says as I feel a lump in my throat as words struggle to come out. Reese is THE prince??!!
