Blaze’s POV
“We do not know what awaits us beyond the wall. For centuries, our kind has never gone into the main city for fear of being caught but now, we have nothing to fear and are ready to risk our lives.” Clementine’s voice echoes through the training grounds.
Over three hundred of us warriors stood, listening to her keenly. I could already feel the excitement cursing through my veins at the thought of going into the main town.
“Five warriors who are ready to risk their lives for this is all I ask. It is not am easy task, we acknowledge that but this is a way for us to know our enemy and master their weak points. It is the only way.” I raise my hand to volunteer before she finishes and the others turn to me in shock.
“Are you sure?” Clementine shakes her head, turning to my father who stood far off, watching everything.
“I don’t think Alpha Kayden would want that. You’re all he has now, Blaze. You shouldn’t risk you life, for his sake at least.”
“I want to do this, Gamma. Please, let me.” I plead, not looking towards my father.
“Any other volunteers?” She completely ignores me, walking around the other warriors whose heads were bowed, none wanting to risk their lives for a mission that had low chances of success.
“Gamma, please.” I voice out, running after her. “No one wants to do it, so let me. I promise you this, I won’t die on the mission.” I tell her, my eyes showing how much I meant what I said.
“Alpha.” She bows and I notice my father’s presence behind us. I have my back to him, knowing that he would also not listen to me.
“Blaze.” He calls out and a sigh escapes my lips as I turn to him. My heart aches when I see the look in his eyes.
He was hurt but tried to hide it.
“Let her, Clementine. I am proud of how committed you are to our people, Blaze. I really am.” He says with a faint smile, shocking everyone, myself inclusive.
“Dad!” I breathe out, my heart racing with happiness. “Thank you. Thank you, Alpha Kayden.” I say, wiping the happy tears away from my eyes.
“Promise me one thing, Blaze. That you will come back in one piece. That’s all I ask. If the mission gets too hard for you, abandon it and come back home. I can’t lose you too.” Father says, whispering the last parts for just my ears and I nod slowly, making the promise to him.
“I won’t die, father. I won’t.” I promise and he engulfs me in a soulful hug, the others watching sadly.
“You leave tomorrow, Blaze.” Clementine speaks up behind me, giving me a light pat on the back as she dismissed everyone.

“I’m so sorry, Blaze. I couldn’t bring myself to make that sacrifice. I just couldn’t .” Jake tells me, a sad look plastered across his face.
“No, Jake. You need to stay here and take care of your brother. This mission is something only me can and should do. I’ll be fine.” I tell him, smiling to myself. It was for the best that I went alone.
“Be safe, my dear.” He gives me a hug which I return happily.
“We will be waiting for your return, Blaze.” Clementine says, her arms wrapping around me, not as my gamma but as my friend.
Everyone was out to send me off with sadness. Perhaps, they thought that it would be the last time they saw but I knew one thing. I wasn’t going to die so easily.
Not when those bastards have not gotten a taste of their own medicine.

Reese’s POV
“Yes—oh f**k, yes. ” The familiar voice of Stacy, Fred’s mate sounded from my room, the door slightly open.
I groan, shaking my head at him as I pushed it open, walking in. They were both naked, his mate’s leg positioned on his shoulder as he f****d her silly, his body moving at a fast pace.
This wasn’t the first time I’ve walked in on them doing this. In fact, I have been invited by Fred and even Stacy to join in but happily declined.
Threesomes were definitely not my thing.
“Can you both finish up quickly? We have training to do.” I sigh, finding a chair to sit and they both turned to my direction, finally noticing my presence.
“You like what you see, Reese.” Stacy’s annoying high pitched voice says with a stupid smirk plasterer onto her face.
“Shut up.” Fred turns back to her, slamming even harder into her which causes her to moan loudly, her eyes rolling to the back.
“Seriously, man?” I sigh and he turns to me, his breathing raged. “Give me two minutes.” He says and turns back to his mate, flipping her so that he was now f*****g her from the back.
Her screams were becoming too much for my ears so I leave the room, waiting at the hallway.
Ten minutes later, he walks out of the room with a sly grin on his face, beads of sweats across his exposed chest as he struggled with the buttons of his clothes.
“You should join in next time. Stacy’s a really good f**k, I tell ya.” I twist my face, disgusted at how he didn’t mind sharing his mate with me.
It wasn’t a new thing anyways. Most people preferred to have multiple s*x partners while having a mate. It was a normal thing here and even the mates were okay with it and even demanded for it most times.
“I’m good, thank you.” I say as we both walk out of the Palace.
“You should really get a mate, you know or if you don’t want one, get a lady to f**k. You’d thank me later.” He says with a wink, chuckling at his own statement.
“There’s more to life than s*x. You know that right?” I tell him and he turns to me, placing his right hand on my shoulder.
“There is but s*x makes living pleasurable, my friend. Take it from me.” I yank his hand away, climbing my horse, champion as we both rode to the training ground.
We spend hours training in preparation for our next attack on the outcasts. This time around, I was going to bring in that gifted wolf no matter what.
“I’ll head home a bit later. You can leave without me.” I tell the others and they all gallop away, leaving me with just my horse.
“Come on.” I tell champion, walking with her towards the city market.
“Can I get two of these for four pennies?” I hear a familiar voice say and I feel my heart race.
I turn and look toward the direction of the voice but all I see is a crowd of people.
“What am I thinking?” I sigh, face palming myself for hoping for the impossible.
“Thank you.” This time around the voice was a lot clearer. It had to be her.
I look again and the lady turns towards me, a familiar red hair peeking through the cape she had over her.
“Blaze!”
