Author’s POV Reese impatiently waited until Fredrick was out of his room before dashing out to search for Blaze. Fredrick’s revelation was a big threat to her and the last thing he wanted was for her to get caught here in the palace. If she is caught, it won’t be long before his father finds out that she is his mate. Knowing his father, he could strip him of his Alpha title and banish him or, he would kill blaze. The latter was very much like his father. Reese had never hated the size of this palace as much as he did right now. He had been looking for Blaze for almost ten minutes now and he couldn’t even get a scent of her. “Can you trace her?” He asked Jade, his wolf who nodded and in two minutes, he caught her scent. He followed the scent to the kitchen and was about to call her when he realized thy she wasn’t the only one there. It was filled up with chefs and a few maids. They all noticed his presence and bowed in respect, all wondering why he was in here as he never concerned himself with their affairs through all his years in the palace. Blaze eyed him angrily but bowed just like the others so that she doesn’t look out of place. Deep down, she was cursing and looking for a way to escape him. She knew what he was here to take her away but didn’t want to leave. Not until she achieved her goal. “Prince Reese. Is there anything you’d like from us?” Becky, one of the maids who was around Blaze’s age asked with a smile, her eyes raking the prince’s body. Becky grew up in the palace as both her parents were servants and got married while living there. She had known Reese for a long time and was a bit close to him when they were younger but all of that changed when Reese became a man and had to take on the duties of a prince and get ready to be king. She also has had a crush on Reese for twelve years even though she knew that she had no place in his life. She was a mere maid and he was royalty. It didn’t stop her from trying her luck though. Becky didn’t mind being a mistress as long as she got to be beside Reese. She was just frustrated that he wasn’t a womanizer like his friend, Frederick. She would gladly give her body to him if only he would ask. “Yes. I would like to speak to the new maid.” He straightened his posture and pointed at Blaze who was trying to hide behind a male chef. The others turn to her and look back at the prince with wide eyes. They wondered why the prince would want to have a word with a lowly maid like her. No one really knew her. They only woke up that morning to hear from Mrs Greta, the head maid, that she was a new maid. “If there’s anything you’d like, I can help you with it, my prince. I’m sure the maid doesn’t…” Becky started, placing her dusting rag on the cabinet to attend to the prince but she was immediately cut of my him. “No. It has to be her.” His deep voice resounded with his eyes still fixed on Blaze. Becky felt ashamed and humiliated by this but she stepped back, eyeing Blaze angrily. She already hated her. “What are you doing? The prince wants you.” The male chef whom she hid behind nudged her, stepping away so the king could have a proper view of her. Blazed squeezed her face, moving towards him. She didn’t get why they were so scared of him. Maybe being a prince gave him that much privilege. Reese walks out of the kitchen to wait for he and ten seconds later, she appears in front of him but with a scowl on her face. “You don’t give up, do you? I already made myself clear! I won’t be coming with you.” She said as soon as she was close enough to him. Reese said nothing but looked around to be sure that no one heard her. He knew that the palace walls had ears and it would be extremely risky to talk about such serious matters out in the open, so he pulled her to a closed room. As soon as they got in, Reese locked the door and let go of her arm, turning to meet her with a stern look on his face. “You are going to put your stubbornness aside and listen to me.” He warned with a cold glare but Blaze only rolled her eyes. She internally laughed at his sorry attempt to intimidate her with his tone. He clearly didn’t know that she was a trained warrior and things like this didn’t phase her. “Don’t give me that look, Blaze. This is serious.” He said, already getting frustrated with her attitude. “Fine. What’s the matter? Before you speak, know that if this has to do with me leaving this palace, you’d be wasting your time.” Blaze pursed her lips at him, narrowing her brown eyes. “My father found out that the Ace wolf is a red haired woman.” Blaze’s face fell and her body shivered slightly. She wasn’t scared of being caught, she was scared of being caught before she achieved her goal. Her mother was still nowhere to be found. ‘How could I have been so careless.’ She beat herself up, raking her brain to think of a way to carry on with her plan without getting caught. “You are in Danger, Blaze. You need to leave.” Reese warned but that only made her even more frustrated. ‘I knew it had to do with me leaving.’ She thought to herself. “I can’t leave. Not now. I haven’t even achieved anything and yet you tell me to leave.” She shook her head, pacing around when she suddenly stopped. “Why should I believe a word of what you’re saying? If you’re the prince of the seven kingdoms, It only means that it is your duty to protect them. Isn’t that right?” She narrowed her eyes at him once again. Reese couldn’t give her a befitting reply to that question so he said nothing instead, crossing his arms on his chest as he waited for her to finish. “You are telling me to leave because you want to protect your people, isn’t that it? Ha! You must think I’m a fool!” She laughed hysterically, throwing her hands in the air like a psychopath then, she suddenly straightened her face. “I am not going anywhere. Not until I find my mother and rescue her.” She said and walked to the door without giving Reese a chance to explain. He sighed, frustrated with her. He couldn’t understand why someone as strong as she was couldn’t think logically. She was only relying on her strength and in their kingdom, strength didn’t matter as much as wisdom did. She would go nowhere with just her strength. Blaze got to the door and tried opening it only to realize that it was locked. “The keys.” She asked but Reese wasn’t going to bulge until he found a way to get her out of the palace. He said nothing and took a seat on the bed, smiling at her while he watched to see what she would do. Blaze’s lips twitched in a small smile as an idea popped into her head. She left the door and walked towards Reese, her brown eyes having a hint of seduction in them. Reese felt his wolf stir awake at the sight of her attempting to seduce him. He didn’t move as he wanted to see how far she was willing to go. She moved close to him until she was only a few inches away from his lips. Her hands landed on his chest as she began to trail her fingers across his chest, biting her lips in a seductive manner. Reese was already falling for her seduction as his eyes began to shut and his mind was filled with thoughts of her. Blaze, on the other hand was glad to see that her plan was working so she slipped her hands into his pocket to get the keys but what she didn’t expect was that her own wolf would stir awake and recognize the scent of her mate. Blaze was already halfway gone and the keys were already slipping out when she felt Reese’s hand grab her boobs and her body stirred. “Shit.” She muttered, her mind finding it difficult to control her body. She bit hard on her lips to suppress a moan but failed woefully when Reese leaned forward and captured her lips. Her hands fell from his pocket and grabbed the back of his head. ‘I should have never started this.’ She thought but it was too late as Reese trailed his hand through her gown and found her underwear. In one swift motion, his hands slipped into her panties.
