When I got back to the pack hospital a girl was outside arguing with the nurse and I assumed she was the one who was in Alex's room. I walked up to her and said excuse me miss but how do you know my brother Alexander? She looked at me and said,
"I don't know an Alexander. now f*ck off."
I asked the nurse if she was the one in Alex's room and she said yes. I said ok Miss, I am going to say this once. Stay away from my brother. He is mated and he does not know who you are. You do not need to be here so leave. If you refuse to leave, I will call Alpha Hardin down here and let him deal with you. The young lady flipped me off and walked away. I told the nurse thank you for getting her out of Alexander's room and said if she tries to come back call for Alpha Hardin. I went inside and sat with Alexander until Doctor Morris cleared him to leave. When we were walking back up to the packhouse he asked me not to say anything to Ember about the young lady. I looked at him and said, Alex, why don't you want Ember to know about that? She should know that some crazy girl came into your room and kissed you while you were asleep. He looked at me and said,
"I don't need her stressing. Please just keep it to yourself."
I stopped and said Alexander tell me what is going on right now! He shook his head and said he would tell me later. I said no. I need to know what is going on with you. You are my twin and I know something is going on. I said please tell me you aren't messing around on Ember? He looked at me and said,
"why in the world would I mess around on her? She is my mate. The love of my life and the first girl I have ever been with."
I said I don't know but I know something is going on with you. You seemed distracted earlier today when you got hit. If something wasn't going on you would have been more on your guard game and probably wouldn't have gotten hit in the head. He looked around and said,
"I'll tell you upstairs when we get to our floor. Just don't say anything to anyone including Brie."
When we got to our floor, Alex looked at me and said,
"ok. You are right something is going on but it isn't what you think. You know Ember hasn't felt well the past few days. Well, we went to see Doctor Morris this afternoon and we found out that we are going to have a pup."
I asked him if he was serious and he nodded. I hugged my brother and congratulated him. I asked why I couldn't tell Brie and he said that he and Ember wanted to tell everyone. I told him I understood that and said I wouldn't tell. When we got to his door, he tried to open it but it was locked. He pulled out his key but the chain was on the door. He yelled for Ember to open the door for him and she said no. He asked why she wouldn't open the door and you could hear hurt and anger in her voice when she said,
"Because you don't deserve to share this room with me anymore."
Alex looked at me and I shrubbed my shoulders. He said,
"Ember, what do you mean I don't deserve to share our room with you?"
she came to the door and said,
"I know what you did Alexander and I do not want you in the same room as me."
she closed the door in his face and relocked it. Alex turned to me and said,
"what in the world is she talking about? I didn't do anything."
I said Alex I think she knows about the kiss. I mean she is your mate and she can feel if something isn't right with y'alls bond. He said,
"But I didn't do anything wrong. That crazy chick kissed me while I was asleep."
I said I know. Let's go to my room and explain what happened to Brie and maybe she can talk to Ember for you.
We went inside my room and Brie asked why Alex was with me. We sat down and explained what happened and she said she was going to talk to Ember. Brie left our room and went across the hall. Alex said,
"What if even with Brie explaining what happened, Ember thinks it's a lie and doesn't let me come back and she rejects me?"
I put my hand on my brother's shoulder and said I doubt that will happen, Alex. I know the real you and I know you would never intentionally hurt your mate. He said,
"but just a little while ago you were asking me if I was messing around on her."
I said I know and I didn't believe that was what was going on but I had to ask. He put his head down and I could feel his sadness. He won't admit to it but I even saw tears rolling down his cheeks. We sat there for a while waiting on Brie to come back. It was almost 2 am before she came through the door and said,
"Ember is taking it pretty hard. I explained what you both told me and she said she wants to believe Alex didn't cheat on her but she said she could feel it and it felt like her heart was being ripped from her chest. Give her some time to calm down Alex and let her come to you."
Alex said,
"where am I supposed to sleep in the hallway?"
Brie said,
"If we had more room and I wasn't due any day now you could stay with us."
I said come on Alex let's go talk to Alpha Hardin. Once we got Alex a room, for the time being, I helped him get some of his stuff that Ember was willing to give me, and then I went back to my room, and Brie and I went to bed.
