From Rogues to Green Moon (FREE book 3 of 3)

Book 3 of the Green Moon series                                      {Alexander}  Hurry up Evander we need to leave now before they come back. “I’m coming Alex.” Evander replies while gathering as much food as he can while I get water. I finish filling as many bottles as possible and head for the door. Evander soon follows and we take off into the woods. He links me and asks which way we should go and I told him to just keep going south. We run until we can't run anymore and we stop to eat and rehydrate. "When are we going to stop and find somewhere to live Alex?" Evander asks. I don't know Van but we can't be anywhere close to home in case whoever slaughtered our pack is out patrolling or catches our scent and follows us. I want to be as far south as we can be. We rested there for the night and once morning light hit we headed back out.  Days turned to weeks and weeks turned to what seemed like years but I know it had been almost 10 months. We ran out of food weeks ago so we have had to shift and catch our food. We have only made a few small fires to cook our food because we don't want to draw attention to ourselves so we have been staying wolf form and eating everything raw. We have been rinsing off in rivers and streams and sleeping on the ground. Neither of us has brushed our teeth or had an actual bath since the night before we left our home. Van and I were walking towards a mountain we saw through the treeline in wolf form when we both picked up on a few different scents. Suddenly a male yelled at us to shift back to our human form and explain why we were on his property. We ignored him and I growled at him when he commanded as an Alpha for us to shift back. Van shifted and told me to do as the Alpha said because we didn't need any trouble.  Van said, "we are sorry Alpha of green moon. We mean no harm, we are just passing through trying to find a place to settle and call home." Van told me to shift and I did as I was being released by one of the guys. I apologized for my behavior and explained we had difficulty trusting other wolves. Van told him we were from Maine and the Alpha asked how we managed to get from Maine to Georgia. Van explained that our pack had been slaughtered and how we were out hunting when it happened. He told one of his friends to go get us some shorts and then we went back to their campsite. They fed us and gave us water. One of the girls asked how long it had been since we ate a decent meal and Van and I looked at each other and said we couldn't remember, we had been catching our food and eating wild fruits. The Alpha told us he was going to take us back to his pack to let us rest, shower, get some new clothes and eat then he would see if he could find a pack to take us in and we told him thank you. We helped them pack up and carry stuff back to their cars and we left with the Alpha and his Luna and the other people. Van fell asleep and so did I and when we woke up we both were in awe of what was before us. The Alpha said, "Welcome to green moon." when we pulled up to their packhouse there was an older woman and man standing outside. I was a little confused but figured it must have been the Alpha's parents. When the Alpha explained who we were and why we were here the woman began to cry and hugged Van and I. She then told us to come in and get some food. The Beta told her he had already told someone to get us a room and a few things we needed. She told him he was a great Beta. He does seem like one. Not many Beta's or Alpha's would be this kind to take in 2 rogue wolves as they have done. A guy came down the stairs and said the rooms were ready and the Beta asked him to escort us to them. Before we walked away the Beta said he had asked for some soap, shampoo, rags, towels, deodorant, toothpaste, and 2 toothbrushes. Van and I told the Beta thank you and he said once we got dressed to meet him back here.  After our showers, we went down to meet the Beta and followed him into the kitchen. We sat down at the island and the Alpha's mom made us something to eat. She had made us both 2 meaty sandwiches. After we ate Van and I found Beta Jakob sitting in the living area and he told us to have a seat. He told us that he and the Alpha decided to let us stay here until they could find us a new pack. After talking with him he showed us around the pack and then told us he would have a guard take us shopping for things we needed. Van broke down and cried and the Beta asked what was wrong. I had to explain that we hadn't come across very many decent packs since leaving Maine and that the kindness green moon was showing us was a blessing.
