Chapter 8 (The High Tea)

The Palace was up and going getting busy and ready for the perfect day to host a High Tea, in the stunning Fountain garden of the Urtania Kingdom that the Queen loved very much and it was held because the Queen loved throwing her high tea in the social season also because the mothers and fathers and the whole family could join and enjoy a day in the sun playing games and drinking all kinds of tea, from green tea to imported herbal tea and the very famous Red bush tea and earl grey to finished off with the best pastry's the chef could come up with and everyone can do their thing while they either chaperone or be chaperoned.This was also the perfect place for gossip and that is why the rest of the families were invited too. 

For today Rose is wearing a yellow sundress with pretty red flowers on and a big old yellow sun hat and her hair is just hanging naturally down her shoulders showing of her perfect curls. "Rose ,You just look so pretty , like a flower ,you could attract bees' in that pretty dress, you know?", her best friend Lady Kate says while looking at her friend in admiration, and steps into the room and Rose just smile at her being funny all the time yet Kate truly knew Rose and that made them close. "Kate you look pretty too in your sparkly purple dress and that hat is just lovely too,are you as excited as I am?, seeing our mothers wanted a tea party, o and I hope we attract all the bee's if you know what I mean".Rose says and Kate just keeps on smiling."You are to bad Rose", Kate laughs at her witty friend but Rose only smile back."Rose I think I like someone", Kate says shyly out of the blue wanting advise it seems. "O do tell!, " ,"I like the Duke of Greenwill, maybe I can steal his attention a bit today would you help me Rose ?". " Yes you should Kate , I have seen the way he also looks your way , he did eye you a few times , so I would gladly help you",Rose says and so Kate hugs her saying, "Thank you Rose you are the best".even though Kate doesn't wanna step on her friends toes. "No Kate it's really no problem I have my eye on another so it actually makes me happy",and then the two walks out heading to the fountain garden where all the lovely tables and umbrellas are already being set up all over and everywhere you looked flowers was also layed out and so me and Kate started to help , but her mother stopped us saying that ladys must not waste time helping ,but I see myself not as spesial or spoiled but rather someone that likes to help others .

The high tea began and all the guests were arriving looking pretty neat and very nice in all the stunning hats and different dresses.

Rose (Pov) 

It was a beautiful day and the High tea was on its way, there were some of the pairs playing a  bit of tennis and others are enjoying the fountains, the sun and then I see Prince Bion talking to Lady Kate and Prince Derek talking to my cousin Stefan and so I walk over to the Duke of Greenwill and he is instantly smiling as he sees me walking to him. "Princess Rose it seems we meet again", The Duke says  but I know he is flirting and now I know Kate likes him so I decide to keep it friends only seeing she likes him and I on the other hand do not in that way so I keep it natural telling him that Kate is my best friend and that she would be a great choice, sort of putting him into a friend zone. "Yes it seems so , now tell me Duke do you enjoy the High tea so far?".Rose instantly ask. "Yes I do very much thank you and I must say those peach pastries are just something great", Rose agrees . "Yes and did you know it is also Lady Kate's favorite, just as stunning as her don't you think,? she is rather stunning and also very inelegant , don't you think so?", Rose puts the Questions out to him. He looks to Kate, "Yes she is indeed I agree.I like her smile too, but I do not think she think the same of me , I do not know if she likes me much ". 'I beg to differ Duke , she does ,believe me , maybe try talk to her more, show her you care", Rose encourage him and he shyly smile looking over again to Kate. "You truly think so ?". "Yes so go now before all those peach pastries are done". And so he takes her advise and walks over to Kate who is standing all blushing as he comes closer with a pastry in his hand for her.Luckily he actually like Kate...

Rose loves seeing others like her friends happy and so seeing her friend smile like that made her very happy. "It seems you like to play cupid and dish out those pastry's of your chef Princess", Instantly Rose knows that voice she loves so much to listen to and his comment makes her all giddy like a child. Derek bows to Rose and yet again he hands her a single rose ,but today it is a rose as yellow as the sun and the smell is so delightful to her as she takes it smelling it. "So today it is yellow, why may I ask again Prince Derek?" Rose smile happy to him and he love her smile so much . "A single yellow rose for the sunshine you bring to others and to me Princess, you are a brightness to others so gentle and outgoing, "He says once again making Rose like him even more now, he is so thoughtful towards her everytime and she likes this about him , he is real and she knows her heart likes him to. "Thank you I love this you are truly original Derek , thank you".Rose says deciding to give him something in return. She then takes a pastry giving it to him.

"You have to try this, its an apple pie and it is very tasty, do try this". He then takes the small apple pie and takes a bite and Rose can't seem to catch her breath on the way he tastes it , now she wonders what his lips would taste like sweet just like the apples in this pie. "MMMM this is delicious Rose, and I bet you like this most don't you?", he smirks, so Rose smile shaking her head yes,"Yes it is ". "well thank you for telling me then, so shall I get us some tea?", he ask and so she agrees walking with him to sit down for some well earned Tea. 

The high tea went well and so Rose spend most of it telling all the gentlemen what she liked and her mother the Queen also had a talk with the Prince's and so Rose also talked to Bion and he seemed to like the herbal tea and the little cream scones more and also the peach tarts. He also talked a lot with my father the King again but I was not mad because it gave me some time to take a walk in the forest , luckily no one would miss me and I needed some air. 

Derek (Pov) 

After talking to Lord Stefan I was again looking for Rose but she was not here so I followed her sent and found she went into the forest , alone? why ?,  so I went after her, she is my mate after all and I need to know she is save, so as I came around the bend in the road I saw her standing at the little stream looking beautiful in every way possible and I just stood there watching her, her body was small but so perfect like she was sculpted to be just perfection and I think the moon goddess was on spot for making her my mate but still I had this secret to tell and I was afraid ,but just then she turned around seeing me stand there , she smiled and it gave me chills. "I see you love nature as well?" Derek says walking closer smelling her scent that he loves so much. "Yes I do ,why don't you ?". "O no believe me I do, it's just seeing you standing here was just like a dream".In this instant he moves closer knowing he is taking a big risk standing so close almost in her face but Rose doesn't move and it seems to him she likes it to ,so he takes the move to stroke her soft cheek and she shivers under his touch, he knew she felt the bond in some way so he and Rose stare into each others eyes and so he takes the leap of faith and lands his lips on hers and then she allows him and the kiss is so gentle and so full of passion and as he holds Rose closer they hear something and quickly part , Derek then smiles still holding her hand but then he looks to the water walking over and just then King Ferdinand walks to them not looking happy. "Rose we were all looking for you ,may I ask what you two are doing here all by yourself?". "Father I was just showing Prince Derek the river and then he and I started talking, nothing happened father ". Rose pleads knowing her father does not like this . "King I meant no disrespect , I saw the Princess leave and thought to see she was save that is all". So the King look to the two and say. "All good then Prince Derek I will take your word then but I must ask that you return at ones", he looks to them both then Rose agreed as did Derek but while walking back the two walked behind her father and Derek softly touched her hand making her giggle and so they had this secret that only the two of them knew about and Rose loved it, she was feeling like Alice in wonderland only difference, Rose did not have a mad hatter , no she had a Prince that stole her heart and she was happy at last ..
